Network Issue When Logging On

Nov 1, 2009

Every once in a while when i turn my pc on, there is no Internet connection. I see a yellow yield sign over my connection icon. I click it and select "open network and sharing center", then I click on local area connection and it repairs the problem. Is there any way to prevent from having to do this?

Problem Logging On To A Network

Nov 2, 2009

I am having a problem accessing my work network using windows 7 64 bit. The computer that I am trying to connect with is a windows 2000 machine. It keeps saying that I have invalid credentials, when I know the credentials are right. A friends xp machine logs on to the network and so does his vista machine.

Logging On To Network Share From Domained PC

Dec 25, 2012

I am trying to access my home share drive with my work computer. In the past I would just type \homeserver from the run command or doubleclick on the shared folder shortcut on my desktop, get a network prompt and enter the uname/pw. They must have done something at work because now the windows login prompt has my work domain name in the user name: workdomainusername and it is unchangeable and there is only a place to enter the pw. The login fails because the share is not expecting to see the domain, only the user name.

Logging In To Network Server With Windows 7

Windows 95 Logging Into Windows 7 Ultimate On A Network?

Jan 11, 2012

We have a gateway computer that runs windows 95 to run our CAM software for our WEDM machines and I need to get it to be able to log into a Windows 7 Ultimate computer to get the drawings through the network. I get the: You must supply a password to make this connection.

Resource: \computernameIPC$
Password:

I was getting that same error on a Vista computer and I changed several settings (which I also changed on the Windows 7 computer) and now I can log onto the Vista computer, but I still can't log onto the Windows 7 Ultimate computer. I have read several threads and tried several things (which is how I got the connection to the Vista by trying those) but nothing seems to work for the Windows 7.

WLM/Hotmail Keeps Logging Out?

Nov 28, 2012

In the past week i have had problem staying connected through WLM. When i first boot up computer and log into WLM Ver:14.0.8117.416 it tells me if i have any emails and i go to the inbox and check them. After about 1/2 mins windows Live Messenger signd itself out. If i go to sign in the sign in window pops up and i enter detais but the WLM icon on the taskbar says i am logged in but then if i click on inbox a window opens but it wont connect to hotmail its just a blank IE page. The only way i have kept logged in is when i first log on i open hotmail and then i have to keep that webpage open all the time if not WLM logs off. A few days before this happened i lost connection to my Sky broadband for 2/3 hours and i rebooted the router and all was good. I have done Spybot, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and Microsoft Security and they all came back ok.

I/O Error 103 After Logging

Jul 28, 2009

I am not sure if this problem is due to networking or security issue so just posted in this General discussion section.

These 2 days my Windows 7 Build 7232 got a problem that there is an alert message to show "I/O Error 103" when logged into Windows. I check in TECHNET support site and know it was due to "Cannot connect to the registry on site server X in site Y.".

The iso file of the Build 7232 was scanned with Kaspersky and found without malware nor virus.

No Way Of Logging Into Computer?

Jun 18, 2012

what my password is to log in. The only account I can get into is the guest account. I have tried using NT Password & Registry Editor and it says password has been changed but when I try logging in it still says wrong pw. Also I notice this completely took off the option to log into my account I created it was not listed on the log in screen until I did a restore from a repair disc I created. But that obviously did not help the password problem.I am running Win 7 Home Premium on a Gateway ID49C07u. If there is a way to completely restore the computer back to factory instead of finding the password this is no problem.

No Desktop After Logging In?

Aug 11, 2012

Yesterday laptop with Windows 7 has been properly closed, and today after running a complete lack of desktop. The black background and nothing more. Works only task manager and cmd. Safe mode starts up properly. I tried to selectively disable the service take off, I checked the correctness of system files (sfc), chkdsk scanned, restored the system state, repairing the system from the installer, but still the same effect. MHDD does not show anything suspicious and logs OTL, which results in the Annex. Issue the command with cmd explorer.exe does not work. When you call the command iexplore or other associated with the control panel everything works. Sometimes this happens with all the icons appear and then disappear, and only remains the sidebar.

Windows 7 Freezes After Logging On?

May 14, 2011

I have multiple issues that have all cropped up in the past few days. I will try to list as much as I can and as much as I remember doing.I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit running on a Toshiba Satellite L500-1WG. I have had no apparent problems until now. I used to run Kaspersky internet security (free package from online banking) but it wouldn't allow some facebook games to run so I disabled it and used Avast. Avast found a virus in a temp folder upon first quick scan (Win32:Malware-gen) and transferred it to the virus chest on 23.02.11 with a 'last changed' date of 21.12.2010 (was it on there that long and not found by Kaspersky?!?!)Anyway, all good until a boot time scan on 10.05.11 (first one I had run after figuring out what it was) and it found 2 viruses that I hit delete on rather than move to chest - Java:Agent-DI [Trj] and Java:Jade-A [Heur] both in LocalLow Java cache folders. Since then I have had nothing but problems, although I think my trying to do bits and pieces may have had a hand in it too.

I turned Kaspersky back on to do a scan and it didn't find anything except an android rooting thing that it deleted (downloaded but unused). I also tried Malwarebytes after seeing so many recommendations and it has found nothing (I disabled the other antiviruses as I know I had too many but not sure if that is enough or should they have been uninstalled completely?). My Event Viewer has LOTS of errors, warnings and possibly worrying information logs and then I tried turning off some unnecessary start up programmes. I think that is all I have done...When I tried turning it on the other day it kept stalling and freezing and so I turned it off for a day or so. Yesterday I turned it on, it started up fine to the log on screen and once I entered my password I got a black screen with only the cursor. It stayed like this. Today I tried again and it was the same. A few hours later I tried again and after about 5 mins of black screen it loaded up but the wireless wouldn't work. I started it in safe mode and it starts fine. I set it to start up in normal mode and it started but was running extremely slow.

Windows 7 Freezes After Logging In

I took my computer completely apart to clean it, put it all back together, fresh install of win 7 and now its giving me issues. when booting, it will hang right after the windows logo pops up, or it will let me login, then after a while either freeze, or the screen will go black and i will have to hit the reset button. it will either have me boot normally or go through the startup repair, that does nothing.

BSOD 5-10 Min After Logging Into Windows

Dec 12, 2011

I built my computer about 1.5 years ago and I've never had a problem with it until yesterday. When I was playing a computer game my Windows 7 Ultimate x86 froze for 1 sec (during that 1 sec the display on screen turns all "glitchy"). Imminently after the Blue Screen pops up and I have typed out what the it says beblow. Now everytime I start up my computer and log into windows (my computer takes a little longer than usual to boot up now) the computer shuts off 5-10 minutes and shows the blue screen again.

But then I got a BSOD saying "a clock interrupt was not received on the secondary processor". This happens either right when I log in, or within about 10 minutes. I've been in safe mode for about an hour and it's been okay. I ran memtest86 for a few hours but there were no errors. I also cleared the CMOS.

Black Screen After Logging In

Jan 28, 2009

I get a black screen after logging in.

The only thing on the screen is (happily) the Start button and my gadgets.

No desktop Icons, No taskbar, no wallpaper.

Had this with the Windows 7 driver. Windows update suggested the Nividea drivers which I installed. No help.

Current workaround: Change screen resolution to anything... everything comes back... I don't accept the change in resolution.. all stays on screen.

So just enoying but very curious what could cause this.
