Network Connection When Trying To Access Online Games?
May 17, 2012
my network connection has been dropping when I try to play any online game (I've tried 3 different games). I can browse, stream video/music. As well as download at speeds over 1MBs. But whenever I open an online game windows notifies me that I have no internet connection, but shows that I am still wirelessly connected to my router. This computer is brand new and has a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. This computer is the only one in the home having the issue, there are several other devices that are able to connect wirelessly with no issue. I have tried 2 different brand new wireless cards, with the newest drivers. I've also assured that my motherboard has the newest drivers. My event viewer shows several issue pertaining to both DNS issues, and to the Wlan.config I believe. I will check when I get home later this evening on the exact errors and their error codes. My next step is to try to reset my winsock and TCP/IP stack.
ACER Eee PC running Win7 with all windows updates. The problem is the machine running Windows 7 Home Premium intermittently loses "internet access". Where the bars are full, but the ! shows and there is no connectivity. The other Win7 machine is set to automatically install updates and is running fine, although it seemed as though I was restoring it every week or so to get connectivity.Back to the point, the machine in question is Win7 and all available updates are installed.Bonjour service is "stopped" (but it runs fine on the other Win7 machine), TCP/IP was reset, Winsock is reset, registry/temp files cleaned via CCleaner. Zone Alarm Free and AVG are running, but they were running this morning, yesterday and a while ago when it lost connectivity again. One time I went to bed annoyed ready to set the %^&* thing on fire, but in the morning it was working fine!
I'm not exactly a N00B, but I'm dying for an explanation or a fix other than restoring every time "internet access" isn't available. Mind you, this house is full of nerds...Android phone, two iPhones, Lubuntu, Win7 Basic, Wii...all wireless and a wired Vonage that all works great.I was a member of That Computer Guy forums for a couple of years and learned a lot from the moderators and know how much work you guys do to give us this free service.
I have 3 computers running Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
I connect them to a hub and set a workgroup name. Everything is working fine. All of them are able to see each other and access their shared drives.
However, once I unplug internet line (all computers still connect to the same hub), computer cannot see each other and cannot access shared drives anymore. Also, workgroup name is changed to 'Unidentified Network'.
What should I do to connect to a network without internet connection?
Stuck with my local area connection problem.I can not access my internet, under networks options there is no local area connection or any thing like that.I have also tried to format my computer to fix the error but no success.I have also tried to uninstall and then install the drivers but it was of no use but when i troubleshoot the it says the drivers are not installed properly.
I cannot access my internet and don't know why. When i try to access the internet it says I have 'limited access' although I have a full internet connection. Does anyone know how to fix this please? I have a Windows 7 operating system
I am running win 7 and my LAC says "unidentified connection" no internet access. I can still connect wireless to other connection. I am running comcast broadband connection through a marvel yukon ethernet. I can't get my work done from home anymore!
I have a hp compaq laptop and am able to use the wireless internet connection..however I also have a Dell Inspiron notebook, a few days ago I lost internet connection on the dell but the HP was still connected. I have contacted my internet provider and they say there are no connection problems and all is fine. They think the problem is on the dell unit. I have tried disabling and enabling the Lan and wireless network connection. The system recognizes the wireless router but wont connect to it why and what can I do.
I have recently been having difficulties with connecting with my wireless connection. We have a in-home router that is connected to two computer's downstairs by cable. I however own a Acer, Windows 7 laptop that I mainly use upstairs and I get a Excellent signal strength.I have connected to my Home wireless connection before with no problem but recently the connection keeps coming up as ~Identifying... No Internet Access. Also when I have had connection to this network prior to this problem the connection is under Home. But when I try to connect to the same network it comes up as Public or just keeps Identifying. I have the connection set to Connect Automatically. Also the yellow triangle with the exclamation point almost always pops up immediately when I reboot my system or after I Disconnect and Connect the network again. I have tried Disabling and Enabling the network in the adapter settings and this does not work either. In the manage wireless networks tab, I have repeatedly deleted the connection and reentered the security password and again put it as automatically connect but it still comes up as Identifying. I have seen many people with this same problem and have tried many of the suggestions to no avail. It is rather bizarre because my connection will be in this Identifying state for a while and randomly connect properly and I have no idea what makes it go off and on so erratically. I just had it working again for a few days and it is again acting up.
Basically my ethernet capability flew out the window ranomly the other day. Wireless works perfectly however.. before ...the other day.... it has been working solidly for almost a year Im plugged into a router which is running off my cable modem, both sitting less than a foot away from me. Also hooked up to the router is another computer, and my xbox the xbox works but the other computer cant seem to get a local connection either.
at first i assumed they were having an ip conflict of some sort, but why now after all this time?
I have tried:
- ipconfig /release - /renew - abolishing bonjour - taking the other pc completely off the router/network - updating drivers.....rolling back the updates - different cables different ports -plugging directly into the modem - and asking nicely
im on my laptop, Dell studio also the first time i noticed this happen was directly after having powered down the modem and router.

i am having problems connecting to Xbox live because it has no internet access and i have tried lots of things and nothing is working. here is the story behind it.... i had tried connecting many times before but it wouldn't work but one day i tried and i changed sharing on something (IDK what i forgot) and it worked so i had live for a couple of days. then one day my bro was online and the power went out in the house for a while, the next day i tried to connect and it wouldn't... on the when i plug in xbox ethernet to computer
For some reason my router and modem will not show correctly on my dell inspirion one desktop. Im running windows 7 and here are the net work connection deatils

The Connection was working about ten days ago and then suddenly stopped and read as an unidentified network no internet access. at one point is was not receiving packets but now it is but it still says no internet access on the IPv4 Connectivity. Media state is also enabled and the speed is 100.0 Mbps when i troubleshoot it says windows cant identify problem but in the details it says default gateway is available. when i use the cmd prompt ipconfig/all my local ethernet adapter has a physical address of all zeros.
Having real problems playing online games particularly blizzard. They suggest I set my ports which I have done. Then say not their problem must be your provider which is Orange. Dread using the Orange help lines.
I have recently built my own computer and I have been getting a lot of blue screens playing online. Starcraft 2 and League of legends. I have tested my ram and done chkdsk.exe /f they came out clean. I have attached a few minidumps for reference.

get to the root of these BS's I have been experiencing. I have not changed anything on my PC recently except Anti virus updates from AVG, no new hardware etc. They mostly occur when I'm playing games. but also happen when browsing the web. System specs are as follows:

I've been getting a blue screen on my computer. When i run games like metro 2033, Crisis, Batman: Arkham City, the pc runs well and nothing happens. But when i try to play Metin2 e pc crashes.
I have a problem where my CPU spikes to 100% while playing online games. When I check task manager there is no process that actually seems to spike. I have also tried a fresh windows install but this didn't fix the problem either. This only occurs while playing online games (starcraft II, league of legends), I tried offline games to see whether or not it had anything to do with the internet and I didn't get any cpu spikes at all playing offline games even though these games have higher performance requirements.
I have an Acer Aspire 5534 with an AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core Processor L310 1.20 GHz laptop. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. My problem is that I can connect online, but cannot connect to certain online games that require the detection of my IP address. I have tried ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew, but I get an error message saying the media is disconnected. This occurs when I am connected both wired and wireless. The weird thing is that I have a perfect internet connection. So, basically, how can I renew my IP address? I have Comcast internet and a Belkin Router, all which seem to be working fine.
Whenever I go to a webpage and try to play games, view videos, or streaming content my system "freezes" every minute or two. I can never watch a video or play a game in its entirety without having to sit through numerous "freezes", or whatever it is. The little spinning icon just keeps going round and round.
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz 8GB RAMnvidia gt 540m (updated to latest driver that was available on their website)Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1it is also an OEM version.I received a BSOD with stop error 0x0000003B when playing an online game. I've played this game many times on this laptop without this error up till now. I've attached the mini dump file in this post but i did not attach the perfmon /report however because I would receive an error saying that the data collection has timed out.
I don't know what caused this; the sounds(in my headset) suddenly stop then resume again. I'm sure that it isn't caused by lag or other internet related issues, I'm using the same headset after my computer has been replaced entirely and my past OS is WinXP. But my speaker works fine and doesn't encounter that problem, I also used that in my past WinXP pc.
