View 5 Replies View Relatedmy network connection has been dropping when I try to play any online game (I've tried 3 different games). I can browse, stream video/music. As well as download at speeds over 1MBs. But whenever I open an online game windows notifies me that I have no internet connection, but shows that I am still wirelessly connected to my router. This computer is brand new and has a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. This computer is the only one in the home having the issue, there are several other devices that are able to connect wirelessly with no issue. I have tried 2 different brand new wireless cards, with the newest drivers. I've also assured that my motherboard has the newest drivers. My event viewer shows several issue pertaining to both DNS issues, and to the Wlan.config I believe. I will check when I get home later this evening on the exact errors and their error codes. My next step is to try to reset my winsock and TCP/IP stack.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a problem where my CPU spikes to 100% while playing online games. When I check task manager there is no process that actually seems to spike. I have also tried a fresh windows install but this didn't fix the problem either. This only occurs while playing online games (starcraft II, league of legends), I tried offline games to see whether or not it had anything to do with the internet and I didn't get any cpu spikes at all playing offline games even though these games have higher performance requirements.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. My problem is that I can connect online, but cannot connect to certain online games that require the detection of my IP address. I have tried ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew, but I get an error message saying the media is disconnected. This occurs when I am connected both wired and wireless. The weird thing is that I have a perfect internet connection. So, basically, how can I renew my IP address? I have Comcast internet and a Belkin Router, all which seem to be working fine.

I'm sure that it isn't caused by lag or other internet related issues, I'm using the same headset after my computer has been replaced entirely and my past OS is WinXP. But my speaker works fine and doesn't encounter that problem, I also used that in my past WinXP pc.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter installing W7 SP1 x64 through automatic updates, none of my games (CS: GO in Steam, Heroes of Newerth) will load. The first time I encountered this problem, I decided to format my SSD but the same issue again after installing SP1. Thinking it might be a video driver issue I've tried installing an older driver but the same thing happens. I decided to uninstall SP1 and all my games are working again.
I never had this issue when running on a HDD. I just installed a new SSD a couple of days ago, doing a clean install of OS.

I've got my 500gb laptop hdd partitioned with majority on d data partition (have not installed anything ever to d - only c). I do have my user folders relocated to the d part. Where should I install or set up game directory for my d partition? (Current game I'm installing is recommending c/prog files(x86)/published/game title) should I just change c: to d: even though those folders don't exist, installation will create them? Are steam games installed to different path normally than x/program files. How might future steam game installs affect where/what directory folders? Any program for remapping or whatever would be needed to use an xbox 360 controller for pc games?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had this problem only on windows7, for every game I've installed.
Basically, during the installation all of the RAM is used up, and when it ends the system won't free up the RAM, the PC is dead slow and I have to restart it.
It's not a hardware problem, these are my specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0ghz
RAM DDRII 4GB 800mhz
Motherboard: ASUS P5Qpro
ATI RADEON 4850 Toxic 512mb
Windows 7 RTM x64
has this happened to anyone else?
it's never happened to me with Windows XP, nor Vista, or even Ubuntu.
i used to have 2GB RAM, then when this happened I upgraded to 4 but it made no difference.
I am trying to install an older game on Windows XP SP3 (32bit) using Virtual PC. The game has been installed without any error and running its panel. Now whenever I hit the 'start game' button it says" "No 3D hardware installed in your system."I loaded my laptop drivers into virtual environment but they are unable to be installed. Now please tell me what can I do to run it?
Note: I've Windows 7 64bit and the game has compatibility issues with 64bit system.
Im using Windows 7 now for a while. I was reading on another forums reports by multiple users about abnormal usage of RAM (100% usage) while installing games or programs and it causes stalling while CPU usage is near 0%. I also asked these question on another forum and didnt get anwser.
I was wondering why, because I didnt notice that behaviour on my computer never before. But yesterday when I was installing a game I noticed just that. The installation proces was very slow, RAM usage was 100%, CPU at zero. So I suspect a update of a kind or something similar is cousing this problem.
