Media Center Choosing Wrong Language On Dual Audio
Jun 13, 2009
I'm trying to watch doom but, it's a dual audio avi it plays fine using the eng track in any other player but media center using the media browser plug in chooses the alt language.
I have a dual screen setup (PC & TV) & just upgraded from mce2005. Whenever mce2005 started up, media center automatically displayed on my tv screen rather than my pc monitor. With Windows 7 it seems to display on my PC monitor at startup, even though I have dragged it onto the tv screen the previous time I used it. Is there a way I can get it to start up on my tv screen but keep my PC monitor as my primary screen? My video card is an nVidia GeForce 7300LE
PS It's also time for a video card upgrade as live TV is very choppy - would people recommend ATI or nVidia?
I recently, went onto windows media center, to set up Doctor Who on Saturday, but it comes up, as 11.15am to 12.00pm, instead of 19.15 to 20.00,I done what windows media center says to rectify this, but it still hasn't put it right, is there anyone, can help me with this, as I want to record Doctor Who on the computer.
I recently installed a Media Center server as a centralised location for all my media including broadcast and satelite TV. I view / play media using Xbox 360's as Media Center extenders. The setup was straight forward and works really well across my network. However I have one issue that I can not resolve.
Any items that have been recorded on the composite video input (satelite TV) of the TV tuner card in my Media Center server are in 4:3 aspect, but only when watched via xbox. If I watch these recordings directly on the Media Center server, they are in the correct 16:9 format. Xbox squashes the picture and puts black lines down either side of the picture. It does the same thing if you watch live TV from this composite video input. Digital TV inputs work fine.
Perhaps this is related to the file format used by Windows 7 - WTV, which from what I have read seems to have additional information embedded.
I saw someone had posted earlier about what I think is the same issue, but the page disappeared. My TV is not going to the resolution that I set on the computer. It is going to 1920x1080 which looks awful since it is not its native setting. I wanted it set to 1360x768 which looks the best. Does anyone know why my TV is doing this? I use to be able to do it but had trouble recently when I showed my friend today.
I am going to order my free windows 7 upgrade . The problem is i want to choose different language for order (my current language is russian and i want to install english). Will i have any problems if I choose another language? Has anybody expirience about ordering windows 7 upgrade with other language? I really need your help, because i dont want to spend 20 bucks (for shipping) and find out i throw away my money and free copy of windows 7.
need help in changing the DVD Audio setting under MC, DVD Audio setting menu. I want to change the audio setting to "Theatre Mode", instead of "Night Mode" ... to provide a full range of sound, but this option is grayed out. Does anybody know how to change this ..
I tried changing it under Media Player but it does not affect the Media Center setting.
I have recently purchased a PCTV Nanostick DVD-T2 290e I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and I use Windows Media Center for almost everything. I run a media center machine in my lounge through my Sony AV Amp onto my HD TV.I bought the Nanostick to watch Freeview HD programmes when watching the TV through the Media Center I also have a Sony Freeview Plus system that the Mrs uses.I installed the Nanostick with relatively no issues and as described by many user reviews Media Center picked up the new USB tuner and scanned all the new channels and I was presented with all the HD channels. The issue I have is that there is no audio sound from the HD channels but perfect video. SD works fine. The software that comes with the Nanostick works fine both sound and vision are perfect for the HD channels.
As mentioned, I run my Media Centre lots. I have an extensive DVD and BD collection stored on a server and DVD and BD all play perfectly through Arcsoft Total Media Theatre 5 with no issues on either SD or HD. My sound card is built into my motherboard and that sends the audio signal to my gfx card and that in turn passes it through to my Sony AV Amp that decodes the audio to be heard on my 5.1 set up.
I'm using HP Pavilion dv6114tx laptop which has SPDIF audio support which is connected to Logitech 5.1 audio system thru 3.5mm three audio jacks.
When i play the song/movie i get all the speakers and subwoofer working fine. But when i test the audio thru the Speakers Test thru Windows Media Center all the speakers are working except the subwoofer.
verything was working fine, i could use media center for watching TV, recording. ect .. all of it. I didn't install any updates, or add any new hardware or anything. I should do the computer started it back up, turn on WMC went to live TV and all i get is a BLACK WINDOW, with sound .. but no picutre
OS Windows 7 64 Bit ATI Radeon HD 4670 - Last driver update July 7th 2012 Driver version 8.970.100.300 TV Tuner - Hauppauge 950Q Mother Board - GA-H55M-S2V V1.4
I'm so at a lost as to why video won't work. I use WINTV7 and everything is perfect. Like to use WMC as it is had your tv listings and and quickly record what i want.
Is there any way to compensate for the bluetooth headphone audio delay while watching Live TV in Media Center? For movies it's simple I can do it through Media Player Classic but I don't see how to change any kind of audio shifting setting within Media Center.
I recently purchased a used computer, running Win 7 Pro, that was configured with a display language of Spanish (Mexico was the set location). I changed all of the display and language settings and restarted, but annoyingly, the title of the Guest account is still in Spanish, as are many of the Programs and files within folders in the Start menu (CD Burner XP, Intel ProSet Wireless, etc.) How do I finish configuring the computer so that everything is in English?
i have a C-Media CM6501 pretty old 7.1 sound cardWindows can identify it and it works..problem is, my center speaker plays the bass and my subwoofer is playing the center's sounds..I have searched for weeks a solution but have found none! The jack connections are right (center and woofer are the same jack) and on media player I actually can swap between them.My problem is with music and gaming on the computer..Also, i don't have and can't find an application for this sound card.
I'm in grave problem here. I just installed windows 7 x64 a few days back. And initially I installed the 32bit version of k-lite codec pack for my windows media player. The media center worked fine then. It was loading my ffdshow and ac3filter along as I checked it.But then yesterday I noticed that the same pop-up od recommended/express install of WMP came again. Initially I thought that it must be some bug or something, but then when my MKV and AVI files didn't work in WMC, I realized that somehow WMP x64 got triggered, and now it is using the x64 bit of WMP in WMC. And I just wanna revert back to 32-bit WMP in WMC.
I can't get eithe WMP or MC to play a DVD. I've set the region code. WMP acts like it will play, but then just goes blank, and MC says it cannot play the DVD. These are original discs, not burned copies. I have a custom built system, with 2 graphics cards (GTX 260 and a GT 220) 6 GB of RAM, and an i7 processor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
does anyone know how i can get 7 to open winamp instead of the windows media player when i press the media button on my keyboard? somehow i didnt have this problem on xp.
when i play that playlist first time, it shown the correct name, but since 4th or 5th time i played, it has shown wrong name, i don't know how to fix itplease look at "Stranger" or "Pretend",
certain programs always open on the 2nd monitor which i dont always have switched on. For example I double click the program to run and it always opens on the 2nd monitor even if I drag it to my main monitor it always defaults back to monitor 2. Also why when I run programs in full screen (games mainly) when I exit out the folders that were open are a difeerent size to what I set them at before running the game sometimes even the folder will move to the 2nd monitor upon exit.
I installed windows 7 x64 RC a while back, and it detected windows xp and set up a dual boot. All was well.
I had a PSU failure, and i replaced the PSU. I set the BIOS to boot from the drive with windows 7 on it. It wouldn't boot. I set the bios to boot from the drive with windows Xp on it, and it booted to the dual boot screen.
Apparently, windows 7 placed the boot information on the old XP drive, so if i try to boot to windows 7 from the windows 7 drive, its a no go.
Now, this wouldnt' bug me so much, except that i want to replace the Xp drive with a larger 1tb drive. I don't need XP anymore, and do need storage (xp drive is 160gb). if i remove the XP drive, windows 7 won't boot. How can i fix this?
im running win 7 x86 in a vaio vgn nr 21s/s with a 8400mgt and i cant find a driver which displays my correct resolution in my external wide screen (22'' at 1680/1050)
all i cant get is 1600/1200 or above but not he optimal.
i'm having issues with the realtek HD audio drivers. i just installed the latest version (2.24 i think) and i have no sound. note, i did not have a prior working version under windows 7 - i just installed windows 7 RC today for the first time.
one possible issue is that it appears to be using the wrong codec - i believe that i need the ALC882 codec, but in windows 7, it appears to have installed the ALC885 codec.
When I open Windows Media Center - Internet TV is listed. On the windows website it shows that I should have that option. So, I assume I don't have something set up right.I have a TV tuner and I can record and watch TV just can't get to see the Internet TV channels.
I am running Windows 7 on a new computer with no TV tuner. I am unable to see Internet TV or Netflix in Windows Media Center. When I try the automatic download (Download Now) option, I get an error message that the Guide cannot be downloaded. After looking at these message boards, I have tried turning off my firewall before downloading and tried adding the Media Center programs to the allowed programs in my firewall application, but I still get the same errors.
I am building a Media Center PC. I have two questions relating to Windows Media Center:
1) I can watch TV via TV card, but can I watch TV from another source such as HDMI or AV from my satalite reciever or PS3?
2) Can WMC work with a dual monitor graphics card? I would like to transmit the media center screen via AV to monitors & speakers, while being able to use the PC for other use via VGA connection.
I used to run media centre wired and it worked fine. Trying to clean up cables running all over the place Ive tried wirelessly yet its almost to the point that it doesnt work at all as its incredibly slow and takes about a minute to react to controller input.Im running a TP-LINKTD-W8930N 300Mbps router.
in Win 7 Ultimate I insert a DVD, and the only options for playback are Windows Media Player and Real Player - with Vista, I used to have an option to play the DVD in Windows Media Center, which is what I want. Is there a way to get this option back?
