I Have Lost Contact List
Jul 6, 2010Installed system 7 over windows XP. Before starting I saved mostly everything (MS Outlook) but not my contact list. Is the contact list still on my hard drive since I did not format it? Could it be embedded in some saved file by the installation program?

Jan 15, 2013Just loaded Windows 7 pro and moved my contacts from OE to WLM. When I tried to send an email to a bunch of patients noticed that program did not only use the primary email address, but used all addresses of each patient. Is there a way of tell WLM to only use primary email addresses like OE does?Or it there a way to showing only primary addresses in the contact list that comes up when searching for a group of patients?

Apr 23, 2012Using Windows 7 Home Prem; latest version. When I look in my "Contacts" I see "Ed Wiens" ONCE only. When I compose a new email, I see "Ed Wiens" TWICE; once is his current addy and once for his old addy. I need to delete the old one but it won't show in the Contacts to be deleted. How can this happen and how can I delete the old one?

Jul 25, 2011Just got a call from a friend who recently bought a new laptop running Win 7. He says he was originally able to get to his email (presumably through a selection on his browser) but something changed and he can no longer find a way to access his email.The friend has little or no technical knowledge, so most of my questions resulted in an "I dunno" response.
I plan to visit him tonight for a look-see. I am not up to date with Win 7 features. Is OE still used for mail in Win 7? I use Thunderbird myself, and found it works well in Win 7. Do not know what mail prog. is now a MS standard with Win 7.I will try get more info and to dope things out on my visit. If we know his provider and email ID do you think we can get to his existing account and set up things so he can once again get is Email?
Lost Email Icon?
Jan 30, 2013New to Windows 7, I'd like to gain some screen space by hiding the Bing bar and seeing only the Google screen. But then there is no email icon. My email is from Outlook.com, with an @msn.com address. Is there a way to add an icon to the Google screen so I can go to my email with a single click?

Dec 16, 2009I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 with no problem. A pop up did mention that I would not be able to use windows mail but did advise my setting and files would still be able to be used. I now have Outlook running but can find no way forward to find all my previous emails.

Jul 15, 2012I have a HP Touchsmart 300-1060a (Home Premium Windows 7 64 BIT) which I bought few years back. Now for the last 6 months or so I started getting issues with my machine was not displaying anything at all after turning it on. So I had to hard reset my power from the machine and then was able to see it started displaying again.At first I suspected graphic card (NVIDIA GEFORCE) but then I did my diagnostic test and nothing was found.One day, I started re-imaging my machine as a fresh and then after this it never came back ONLINE. I read all HP forums & even HP Online support was unable to help me to find the cause.Because when I turn on my machine I can see the power light was on and could hear big fan noise but mo HDD activity at all.So at this stage, I suspected either motherboard or BIOS but wasn't 100% sure what could be the real cause because I was sure it was not due to graphic card.So first I re-setted by my BIOS to see if it helps but it didn't came up at all. So then I took my machine to a Computer repair shop (a friend of mine) and we detected it could be due to the regulator which supplies power to the CPU and motherboard.So we replaced that part and now my HP Touchsmart is running fin since then.But I have lost my HP Startup logo with options such as below: [code]

Jan 4, 20101. Computer, at start up, sometimes can't find my monitor. Only way is to start the computer with the monitor switched off; then turn the monitor on at a certain time during the booting process (when I here a motherboard-beep). Occasionally the connection will be broken anyway (and I'll have to mess with the 'reset/-start button). I generally get to the motherboard page and BIOS settings. But sometimes not even that and then the only solution is to leave everything off for a while (minimum a couple of minuts – but not exactly sure).
2. Computer lose monitor when it to goes into sleep mode. This only happens if I leave it inactive for a long enough time. I can usually retrieve it if the display's gone out only for a short while, as usual - by pressing keyboard or moving mouse.
My hope is to find a solution that doesn't involve buying a new monitor.
