View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Touchsmart 300-1060a (Home Premium Windows 7 64 BIT) which I bought few years back. Now for the last 6 months or so I started getting issues with my machine was not displaying anything at all after turning it on. So I had to hard reset my power from the machine and then was able to see it started displaying again. At first I suspected graphic card (NVIDIA GEFORCE) but then I did my diagnostic test and nothing was found. One day, I started re-imaging my machine as a fresh and then after this it never came back ONLINE. I read all HP forums & even HP Online support was unable to help me to find the cause.Because when I turn on my machine I can see the power light was on and could hear big fan noise but mo HDD activity at all.So at this stage, I suspected either motherboard or BIOS but wasn't 100% sure what could be the real cause because I was sure it was not due to graphic card.So first I re-setted by my BIOS to see if it helps but it didn't came up at all. So then I took my machine to a Computer repair shop (a friend of mine) and we detected it could be due to the regulator which supplies power to the CPU and motherboard. So we replaced that part and now my HP Touchsmart is running fin since then. But I have lost my HP Startup logo with options such as below: [code]

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I've recently been getting this "The Windows 7 Home premium product key is invalid for activation" I wasn't getting this the first two weeks after I re-installed my Windows 7 home premium, so I assumed everything was fine. Then, I started to get this... I don't see why the key would be invalid, it's the key that's on the bottom of my laptop, and yes before anyone asks, my windows os before was windows 7 home premium 64 bit, like the one I have installed now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAre Windows 7 Product Keys tied to bit type as well as the version (Home Premium, Professional, etc)?
If one buys, say, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, but decided to fall back to Professinoal 32-bit, does the Product Key work?
I have only used 32-bit XP and Vista, but am looking at switching to 64-bit with Windows 7 (new PC purchase) and I wasn't sure if the Product Keys are tied to the bit type you are using. Obviously, they are tied to the version (Home Premium, Professional, etc).
I've had the impression with the Windows 7 Beta/RC that a Windows 7 Ultimate Product Key, for example, will work on the 32 or 64-bit version, but wasn't sure.
My copy of windows 7 has become messed up. Manually deleted a perental control software (son outgrew it) and messed up windows. I have run the system backup onto a CD and have backed up all files and data on an external HD. I've been told I need to reformat the C: partition and then do a restore. How do I reinstall windows 7 using the product key listed on the computer. No disks came with the computer. Win 7 was preinstalled by manufacturer.

View 2 Replies View Relatedfew years ago I made the stupid move of buying an iBuyPower PC. It was horrid, and I returned it but kept the Windows 7 CD on accident. A few weeks ago I completed my first build. But didn't have enough by the end of it to afford windows so I figured I'd just use that disc and see if I can re-activate it by phone or something.I've since installed it, but it will expire soon. I've since purchased a new copy from amazon. Will I have to re-install Windows? Or can I just enter the new product-id and key from the new box.Currently when I go to computer properties, there's an IBuyPower logo. Will I be able to change that? I want to rid their name from my build.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOk so to start off I wanted a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium. I had everything ready and I formatted the hard drive, deleted all the partitions and started the fresh installation of Windows 7. Then I realized I didn't extract my Windows 7 product key. Now I bought this laptop from Ebay. It is a Dell XPS 15 (L502x). I tried putting in the product key that was on the little sticker on the bottom of my laptop but it said that the key was invalid. I contacted Dell and explained my situation to them and they registered me as the new laptop owner and sent me the recovery disks. Now my question is will the recovery disks work even though I don't have a product key anymore?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Mac Mini but wanted to utilize Windows (specifically windows version of Microsoft Office) so I had my girlfriend pick up a Windows 7 DVD from school. My Mac Mini has 8 GB of RAM but she picked up a Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit DVD. I have already installed the OS and I have found out that only 2.16 GB of the 8 GB RAM is usable. If I were to reformat my partition and install a 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate over my current 32-bit Ultimate would I be able to utilize the same 32-bit product key? I am concerned either the 32-bit key is connected with a 32-bit version or Microsoft will not let me validate the 64-bit addition because they will think I am trying to use the product key on two different systems.
