Itunes Slow Load
Feb 7, 2013my itunes is loading slow occasionally. sometimes it opens right away. and sometimes it takes 5+ seconds.. i also have an SSD.. i was wondering why there was inconsistent load times?

Can't Load Update For Itunes?
Aug 17, 2012I have had itunes with an Wiondows XP 32 bit pc for many years. I now have a new pc with Window 7 64bit, i7-2600, 16 G RAM, and 1T of memory. My problem is I can not load itunes 10.6.3 into the pc. When I try, the program says it was interupted and the change did not take place. It then asks me to press finish or cancel. When I press finish, the program says thank you and gives me the4 option to store the program in G. I no longer have a G as that has been replaced by H. There is no opportunity to change the save location to H. and simply says to load the external disk, which does not exist.When I try to uninstal the itunes programs by strting with itunes first, the pc says that ituneshelper. Resources is not a valid short name.

Jan 10, 2011let me get you caught up to speed. I have a reasonably-sized digital movie, music, and tv show collection I corral with iTunes. To date I have 145 TV shows covering almost 90GB (mixed SD and HD), 1000 songs covering 8.2GB (From 256kbps AAC to 320kbps MP3 to Apple Loss-less), and 29 movies covering about 50GB (all SD), totaling around 150GB, give or take, I didn't have a machine capable of managing my HD content effectively. I was limited on HDD space as well as processing power. I am the type of person that wants to have ALL of my audio-visual media (minus pictures) in one place. In my case, iTunes. I've decided it's time to re-encode the containers for all of my HD movies to an MPEG4-type container to allow iTunes to even acknowledge it's presence. Since the release of Handbrake 0.9.5, I've been able to encode right of the disk to a file, even mix down audio tracks to AC3, etc. etc. My point here is I have one movie, Hancock, 1080P, around 4GB with audio, encoded H.264/MPEG4 @ ~4500kbps, imports into iTunes just fine. BUT, when playing, it either plays slow (say, 80% of real time) or freezes altogether around 10 seconds in. iTunes freezes when I try to give it a file over 4GB... sort of... It acts as though it's frozen... It even freezes the window I dragged the file out of (drag and dropping into iTunes) so I can't even see my desktop. Windows isn't frozen. I can still move on with life and do other things just fine. iTunes is supposedly chugging away using one of my cores according to my task manager.

Mar 12, 2012a few days ago my down load speed dropped from 3mb/s to about 30kb/s same with upload. Service provider has done diagnostic and all is well plus the line speed is fine when checked with another PC. Full scan with MS security essentials checks all is well. Have about 120 open ports in netstat which I'm told is fare to many.

Feb 20, 2013Windows 7 on my computer takes a while to load up. Once windows shows up it shows the circle thingy for about 30 seconds before running. Sometimes it does not ever finish loading and I am forced to reboot with the power button. It has done it since day 1 of owning the machine. I am not sure why it takes so long to load up, because it is a fairly high end machine. the machine has an I7 2600K 3.4GHz, with an Nvidia 670 and 32 GB of DDR3 RAM. I do not understand why I would load so slow, once it finishes (if it does) it runs fine. I have scanned it over and over with Norton, Malwarebytes and bitdefender, with no viruses showing

Jan 16, 2012If I click on All Programs and then on C drive, it'll open up with a blank page and then a green bar starts moving slowly across the top. When it gets to the end, it just sits there.Pictures, Games and Music do the same thing. Games is blank and no green bar. The CPU, according to the meter, is running at about 1 or 2 %. Checking with Task Manager, nothing else is running.The only way to get it to work, is to Log Off and then Log back on. It'll be OK for a while and then does it again.

Oct 23, 2011On the Win7 (64-Bit) I notice lately that the desktop icons are slow to display. They start with 'white boxes' and then slowly they fill-in with the correct icon.I tried the following, and now the icons show right away, but then the screen blinks (for lack of a better word) and the icons show as 'white boxes' and then in a second or two they return to the regular (colored) icons. Anything else I can do to make the icons appear as fast as they did orginally and stay that way rather than turning "white" and then changing back to the regular colored icons?
1. Close all folder windows that are currently open.
2. Launch Task Manager using the CTRL+SHIFT+ESC key sequence, or by running taskmgr.exe.
3. In the Process tab, right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select End Process.
4. Click the End process button when asked for confirmation.
5. From the File menu of Task Manager, select New Task (Run...)
6. Type CMD.EXE, and click OK
7. In the Command Prompt window, type the commands one by one and press ENTER after each command:
CD /d %userprofile%AppDataLocal
DEL IconCache.db /a
EXIT
8. In Task Manager, click File, select New Task (Run...)
9. Type EXPLORER.EXE, and click OK. =====================
After the icons show the first time (when computer is turned on), I notice the MSE icnon in lower right has a red X on top of it and when the X goes away (in a sec or so) the icons turn white and then in a second go back to their ususal color. If I click on the MSE icon (with the red cross on it) the MSE will open and in RED it states "Real Time Protection is Not Turned On." And then in a second or two the Red Cross goes away and the the wording turns Green. I think there might be something wrong with the MSE or it does NOT work well with Win 7 64 Bit. Maybe I should do a System Restore, to remove MSE and get back AVG?
Computer Won't Load Any Programs After A Few Seconds And Gets Slow?
Jan 15, 2013I am currently running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and as of this morning whenever I startup my pc I have about a 10-30 second window maybe (sometimes even shorter) that I can actually get programs to open before my pc just seems to get very slow and nothing at all will open. For example things like ctrl+alt+del takes about 15 seconds before it just goes to a black screen and says the process cannot be completed, whenever I pull up the start menu it will freeze and nothing opens from there, and even trying to refresh the desktop or shutting down/restarting crashes it. I have gone into safe mode with networking to get on Chrome and try to find solutions but nothing has worked. I've ran a full system scan with Malwarebytes and the first time it found only one infection and I quarantined and removed it, but the problem still occurs.

Internet keeps giving me the 'there was an error loading the video, please try again later'. i ran a speedtest.net check, i'm getting 4mbps, i normally get 9 or 10 but 4 is fine for me. i'm not downloading anything and the only internet connected program i'm running is chrome.

Jan 9, 2012I added a second machine to my home network, and want to share files back and forth between machine A and machine B. Both are Windows 7 x64 ultimate. I have a shortcut on B's desktop to a folder located on A called "sharedfolder". When using system B and I click in Asharedfolder, I can then click on a pdf, or an avi, or txt, or whatever, and it loads just as quickly as if the file were on B's hard drive. But if I click on an exe file, it take about 15-20 seconds to load. No prompt, no nothing, it just takes that long. It happens with or without no antivirus running.

When the process finally completes, the transfer speeds are about 1MB/s or less.Another (possibly related?) problem is when I insert any SD card in the dedicated slot for the first time, everything is fine. Once I remove and either re-insert (or insert a different card), nothing appears. I get a message saying "process is already in memory". I have to reboot to get things working again.

Please reinstall iTunes."I had heard that if I uninstalled Quicktime (which is bundled with iTunes when that is downloaded), then reinstalled it separately, it would work again, but after trying that it didn't. So I decided to just uninstall iTunes, then reinstall it. However, every time I try to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs, it just sits there saying it'll be about eight more seconds to go to finish deleting, but it just sits, and sits, and sits...... Nothing. I also tried to just install the newest iTunes on top of the existing one, but every time I try it tells me that it's already installed and to click "Ok." So I can't uninstall it, nor can I install it, nor will iTunes open on its own. I had done a system restore recently, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly. After that my laptop has not been working. The machine turns on and gives me two options. Start windows normally or do a repair. Upon starting windows normally, it loads so far before sending me back to the two options of start windows normally or repair. On the second time I clicked repair. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects.

It takes forever to bootup, startup and it sometime hangs when I open up a program or typing.For the bootup, it takes very long time on the window logo, after that the black screen, followed by the welcome page with the loading cursor. Each of this process take a long time. For startup, its not so long but its still quite lag. For the opening up of program and typing, everytime I open up my visual studio, it will take a long time to show up and even if it showed up, it will be "not responding".So I will have to open it a second time before I can start using itWhen I am typing my codes, it will randomly hang and show that the program is not responding. I am still able to move my cursor though.

When I am running iTunes it freezes ALL the time making it completely useless. Especially when I am downloading...it simply stops downloading and stops responding. Does anyone have a fix for these issues or am I on my own till M$ starts releasing some updates. From a lynda.com training video about using iTunes, I learned that there is a folder called "Automatically Add to iTunes", which is monitored by iTunes for new files to import into the iTunes library. However, I would like to know if this is the best way to do this. For example, can I just *move* my 3,000 music files into this 'Automatically Add to iTunes' folder and then let iTunes do its thing?* ill iTunes *move*the files that it is able to manage*OUT*of this folder and into one of its managed folders, such that there would be no duplicate file left behind? Is it correct in saying that the files that are left in this folder that were not able to be handled by iTunes and must be handled differently before they can be imported into iTunes. Or is there just an all around different, and better, way to get these music files into iTunes?
The other question I have involves 'restoring' a previous iTunes library that was backed up to disc (CD or DVD). I have a couple of these and want to _merge_ them with my existing (current) iTunes files, but in a way that I don't have 2 folders for some artists and double tracks, etc. How can I *best* import these iTunes library back ups into my latest iTunes installation.Last is a question which is about ripping my audio CDs into iTunes. I have 2 optical drives on my computer, and I would like to know which one will be most efficient at ripping audio CDs into iTunes. Is there someway to test the read / error correct speed of both drives to get an idea of which one is going to be faster?
ITunes Won't Recognize Some CDs
May 27, 2012I have just found to my irritation that iTunes _will_ check CD info such as song names etc. ....however....
Every now and then it fails to find info. It almost seems as if it does not even try. Usually when I insert a CD, it tells me it's checking with Gracenote, and in short order the details pop up. Then suddenly it will just not get details. I have read the instructions and reasons why.
What does not make sense is that in two instances, Disc 2 of a double disc set will register, but disc one will not. This has happened with Physical Graffiti, by Led Zeppelin, and a Best Of by Faith No More. Of the maybe 1/2 doz CDs that have failed so far, the others were single disc. The failures have failed in spite of repeated attempts, restarts and even a reboot. All the failures were pretty popular, and what I thought were far more obscure stuff worked fine.
EDIT: I now have three double CD sets that have had the first disc fail, while the second gets info. So that is over-represented, but not exclusive: that is to say I have had double CD sets that worked, and single CDs that have failed to supply info from the web.

Sep 26, 2012Trying to install Itunes on my wife's computer. The program will only try to install on the w drive which is too small and can't be expanded. I've tried the steps to change the install to the c drive, but when I get to the install page it reverts to the w drive and will not let me select c drive. This is making me nuts.
