I just switched to AT&T U-Verse for my internet, and they provided me with the router and everything needed for wireless internet. My work computer, running Vista, connects with no problems at all, just type in the password and go. My iPhone also connects with no problem once the password it typed in. I tried to connect my PC running 7 wirelessly, and an invalid IP Address message comes up. I tried connecting it to the router with an ethernet wire, and the same message came up. Also, it says that I'm connected to an "Unidentified Network." I've connected my PC to many different wifi connections over the last couple of years, and this is the first time I've ever had this problem.
when I go to a web site to register and they asked for an e-mail and it makes no matter what email address I use, yahoo, aol, hot mail. any it tells me that that's it invalid. I've done everything to fix this and asked and no one can tell me how to?
I'm setting up a new computer and having problems getting on the Internet. The connection worked at first but was very slow. I changed Ethernet cables to see if that was the problem and now have nothing.
The error that I am getting is:
"Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP Configuration
I also have Norton Internet Security running which could be part of the problem.
When connecting via an ethernet cable to a parent's modem, my laptop claims that Local Area Connection is unable to connect due to an invalid IP address. I've looked at many forums, but no single solution seems present and no one shares the same specs or IP config results with me.
Specs: Laptop: Samsung Q430 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU: Intel Core i5 M 450 2.4 GHz Memory: 4GB
I have been using Windows 7 for about a month now and two days ago i started to have network problems.
I cannot connect to the Internet or my network and keep getting messages saying that the network cable is unplugged when it is not. After a while i was able to get a different message and the computer connects to an unidentified network and when i troubleshoot this it tells me i have an invalid IP address.
I know the problem has got nothing to do with the hardware or my Internet. I have tried 2 other router's & another modem with different Ethernet cables with no luck but my network/Internet is working fine on my laptop which is also Windows 7.
Above is the error that comes up after I troubleshoot this issue. okay so to start off let me say the things I have done.
1. I have restarted my computer multiple times and restarted the modem and router. 2. I've checked my services to make sure that that weird code is not there and it was not.
This problem just came up recently and had no issues with it before and this computer has been running for over a year.
My internet connection shows 'no internet access' even though my ISP shows the connection is coming into the house just fine. I usually use a router (NetGear-WNR3500U) but I right now I have the Ethernet connection plugged directly into my PC. I tried directly plugging into my laptop and the internet works just fine. So I know the problem resides in the PC.
Some troubleshooting things I have tried.
-Power cycled my modem, router and PC.
-Repinged my connection from my ISP(Comcast Xfinity)
-Used the reset option on the router and the modem
-I was walked through the internet options needed with the tech support from my ISP to make sure DHCP was enabled and every other setting was correct, and he cleared me that all settings were correct.
-Tried ipconfig commands to /renew and /release my IP When I tried ipconfig /renew I get the error 'An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server'
-Restored my PC to a restore point where the Internet was working
All of these options did not work.
What I think the problem is and I am not sure how to fix it, when I run the ipconfig /all command my Auto configuration IPv4 Address shows 169.254.112.76 which I was told is a router IP address even though I am plugged directly from the modem to my PC with an Ethernet cord. So I think that's my problem? But I am not sure.
Having problems exporting my comcast address book to windows live mail address book,Also tyied exporting address book from plaxo without success, please help!
Can I use my netgear DGND3300 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router with Build-in dsl modem as a second router with u-verse.ty Or not which netgear I can use?
I have installed fresh Windows 7 Pro x64, and Office 2007 Small Business Edition SBE. Every time I try to type my Product key (which I have checked several times and it is correct) I got message saying that my key is invalid. To be honest I am not entierly sure whether I should call Microsoft and explain the whole palava or there is something better.
recently i made a post on my netbook's problem to activate windows, when I used Vista, unfortunately i couldn't. Well yesterday i updated my computer to Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, i tried to activate windows but at the point i give my product key, it says that the key i typed is not a windows 7 one.
I have a Windows 7 laptop, it has two network connections - one that I use at work; it is a hard wired connection (by DHCP - where the server automatically assigns an I.P. address), and the other wi-fi; which I use at home (again by DHCP where my modem / router assigns an I.P. address).
Recently I performed a Windows update (whilst at home - connected to my wi-fi network) and now when I take my laptop to work I am unable to connect to the internet. The Windows (2000) server knows that my computer is there, and I can access network shares, however I can't browse the web.
I had a look at my network settings by "ipconfig /all" and discovered that my "hard wired" connection is being supplied an invalid Gateway I.P.
Other computer on the network are not receiving an invalid Gateway.
As a temporary fix I have entered a static IP, however I am wondering if anybody knows what may cause my laptop to be assigned an incorrect Gateway IP, particularly when other computers on the work network are not experiencing this issue.
I have a Gateway FX6801-05 which originally had Wiindows Vista installed. I purchased a complete Windows 7 ultimate (not upgrade, not OEM) from eBay. I wiped the disk then installed and verified it without a hitch. Automatic updates has been working fine.Yesterday I changed some things around on my motherboard. When I booted Windows 7 Ultimate, which has been installed on my computer for several years now, it reported that my copy of Windows was invalid. Apparently the motherboard remembered the OEM Vista product number. I tried reauthorization both on the web and by phone using my new product key of Windows 7. The phone reauthorization doesn't even allow me to talk with a support person.Did I really buy an unauthorized Windows 7 ultimate, or is something weird going on here because VISTA OEM was originally installed on this computer?
I am using the windows 7 usb dvd tool to attempt my next install from my flash drive, The problem is when I guide the tool to my windows 7 ISO image it claims the ISO is invalid, How can I put my 7 on a flash drive?
So, I've recently been getting this "The Windows 7 Home premium product key is invalid for activation" I wasn't getting this the first two weeks after I re-installed my Windows 7 home premium, so I assumed everything was fine. Then, I started to get this... I don't see why the key would be invalid, it's the key that's on the bottom of my laptop, and yes before anyone asks, my windows os before was windows 7 home premium 64 bit, like the one I have installed now.
I've got an old computer that is running Windows XP that I've decided to upgrade to Windows 7. After a bit of trouble, I managed to get through the installation process. At least I think I've got through the installation process - the problem starts soon after the bit where you have to name the computer. Soon after, the computer has to restart, but when it does there are some strange noises from the computer and an error flashes onto the screen for a second:Invalid BOOT.INI fileBooting from C:\windows\And then the screen just goes black. I had to boot it up using the Windows 7 CD again and I tried going on repair installation. It checked, tried and failed to repair. Under details it said "A recent driver installation or upgrade may be preventing the system from starting".I haven't added any new hardware during the installation process - all that was connected was the keyboard, USB mouse, monitor and power cable.
I just recently fixed my laptop a while back ago, and now I am having problems again.I was drawing on my laptop and I received an update for Flash Player. Well, I started to update and as soon as I clicked start, I went back to drawing.30 seconds later, with no warning whatsoever, My computer was closing all my programs, and restarted itself with out a prompt. However, when it did reboot, I got a message saying Invalid Partition Table. So, i was like wtf, like any person. I tried rebooting and going into safe mode. It wouldn't let me. AT ALL. The f8 function does not work. actually the only functions that do work is f2 for setup and f12 for boot options
I am running a small network at my house, and I have a Win2003 server that seems to have problems. It doesn't boot anymore. One suggestion was to take the hard disk, connect it to another computer and work on it. Ok, so I did that. Took the HD from the 2003 machine, got a connection kit for USB and connected it to my Win7/64 notbook. Of course, that blew up my notebook-When I connected the HD, the laptop froze. Obviously, I had not choice but to remove the external hard drive and reboot. The reboot now ends up in a single line: Invalid Partition Table.I have tried the system Recovery Options on the DVD, but the automatic options don't work. So I need to find another way to restore the partition table.
I put it in a zip file because it kept saying invalid to upload... Don't really know what it could be /: , all i know is that my computer was running really slow when it did it , andthat whenever i typed it would delay for a couple seconds for it showed up in the chat box , its fine , now i just wanna know what it is , and if i need to fix it before it gets wors
I have an awesome fan app (FAN Xpert) that I have been using on my Rampage IV Rig. I recently did a re-install of Win 7 (about a week ago) and it has yet to run. It actually is part of suite of utilities that comes bundled with ASUS Mobo's. I have installed it a number of times in the past and have never had any problems. First thing I did was uninstall and re-install I used Revo Uninstaller in safe mode. The problem re-occurred so I then did a regular uninstall.Next I ran SFC.I got a bunch of errors (11) that were all Explorer.exe based. I then replaced Explorer with a fresh copy from the Windows 7 DVD. still Class not recognized. I don't use any of those Registry repair utilities as I have found them to be more detrimental then helpful. So far I have had no problems with any other Apps.
I bought Company Of Heroes a few days ago. Just tried to install it now but in that section I must enter the license code from the back of the booklet it tells me that my license code is invalid. The case was still sealed when I bought it.
PS: I took a photo of the screen showing the entered license code, the code on the booklet and the error message.
I am trying to install a copy of Windows 7 Professional x64, obtained through my university's MSDNAA program, on my desktop. Through research, and another thread on this forum i have attempted to make a USB disk to load the .iso onto the desktop, however when moving the files from the iso onto the flash disk it returns the error "Invalid MS-DOS Function" when trying to copy/move the install.wim, install_Windows7 PROFESSIONAL.clg, as well as the other .clg files. What can I do to remedy this issue and get this thing to install? The computer I am attempting to do this on is my Windows 7Pro x86 laptop.
while installing the Windows 7 i have got the message "the unattend answer file contains an invalid product key. I just upgrade from bulid 7000 to build 7057. when i try to connect to the Internet it gets connected but when i try to surf no page loads. when i clicked on diagnose problem it says my comp doesn't have a valid ip config, wat do i do
I try to input the product key and get an invalid product key error. Now the only place I have the code written is on the actual CD i have for Windows, and that is just a burnt copy. The key and OS was from my old college I went to 3 or 4 years ago and it was legit. Everything was genuine and validated fine but now I am having problems. Now is there a way to call up Microsoft and have them run my laptop hardware or something to show that this is the same laptop and same hardware i have been using for the past 4 years and have them get me an activation code?
Each time I sign on to my computer I receive this annoying message. When I try to close it, the message reopens. It takes several attempts of closing the message window before it will stay closed. How can I get rid of this message?
