is it possible to have the two Internet monitors in the task bar on win 7. I'm talking about the two little blue monitors that show the Internet traffic, like the ones you have on xp. If so how do I do it.

Left Monitor: Quicklaunch bar
Middle Monitor: Start button and application taskbar
Right Monitor: Systray
Is there any 3rd party app that will do that?
I know I can easily extend the whole taskbar across all monitors, but that doesn't do what I want. Ultimately 3 separate completely modular taskbars (where you drag different components to them) would be nice.
Prior to Windows 7 64bit my other computer used XP 32bit. The clock was always off by several hours and it seemed like time wasnt being kept when the computer was off and the time was very slow when it was on. I read that it was due to a coin battery that was basically shutting off. I didnt really pay attention to it cause i dont need the time to be correct on it and aside from that and a clicking harddrive, the computer would run fine.Since the harddrive was clicky, i ended up buying another harddrive and tossing the old one. I installed Windows 7 64bit on it and to my surprise going on for atleast a month now, the time was correct. When id turn off the computer for the night and power it on in the morning the time was correct. All this time i thought it was the battery but nope everything worked fine. The time was always correct no matter what.Now the problem. About 2 days ago the power turned off suddenly due to someone plugging in a heater. The heater basically shuts down the house when everyone has things powered on (tv, entertainment centers, computers etc). After that power outage the computer reverted back to its old problem.From that moment on, the clock on the bottom right is once again behind. The time after turn off does not save and now for some reason the internet on that PC disconnects randomly on its own unless i actually go in the control panel and disable and reenable the adapter. A rundown below on whats going on...
- Clock is slow. Its 7am while the clock would read something like 2pm.
- Internet disconnects randomly and must be re-enabled in the control panel.
- The adapter is sometimes stuck in an Indentifying Network infinite loop.
- NOTHING was changed in terms of hardware, only thing different is the harddrive.
This is a PC not a laptop. I cannot figure out whats going on with this, all the proper services are started too. The PC does connect to a router which also connects to the PC im using now and as of now, my net works fine just not on the other PC.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo about a month ago I restarted my computer and when it came back on all my programs pinned to my task bar and everything that was in my start menu was gone. From there I could not unlock the taskbar and nothing would pin in either the start menu or taskbar. I researched everywhere about it. I tried unlocking the taskbar in properties and registry with no luck. I finally found some posts about how my user profile was corrupt and from there I went on and made a new profile and copied everything and BOOM it all worked fine now. Well today it happened AGAIN! I restarted my computer and everything disappeared. So I think it is still a corrupt profile, but this is the second time it has happened.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a client that has laptop with windows 7 Pro. He had a faulty network card, so I have added a new, usb network card. That said, He can not pin anything to taskbar or start menu. I cleared both folders of shortcuts(567 of them) but to no avail. He also has no options under his desktop Context menu for New. He is also using a roaming profile, of which I will disable next time I am there. I have a feeling that might be the issue. I did scour the internet trying all the usual suggestions, but do vaguely remember something about an entry in cache somewhere that if it is too big or corrupt, it could cause this behavior. I am unable to find that post anywhere now.I mention the network card because one post had taskbar issues until he disabled his faulty network card. I have disabled the faulty network card.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had a program installed called Spiral Knights, and I pinned the icon onto the taskbar so I could quickly launch it. When I was done playing it for good, I uninstalled it and it looked like the icon was off the taskbar, but it wasn't. When I tried to put another program onto the taskbar, called minecraft_server.jar, it pinned to the Spiral Knights icon, even though SK isn't installed anymore. Wherever I try to put the minecraft_server.jar onto the taskbar, the SK program is still there, and it says if I want to pin the minecraft_server.jar onto SK.

There are two places to click on in Control Panelthat should bring up this window, but it doesn't. The Control Panelborder changes color as if something is starting to happen, but thennothing happens, possibly indicating that some program starts to runbut then finds something wrong and exits. I didn't see anythinginteresting in the error logs. The desktop icons appear normally.The problem exists only when logging onto my son's account. I've got a setup that is running 2 ATI 5850s with dual monitors. I tried to add a 3rd monitor but when I do, I get the error message "to extend the desktop, a desktop or display must be disabled". Basically it's only letting me run 2 at a time, any 2 works.I've got 2 monitors using the DVI??? (whatever the white port is) and one using HDMI. I have tried running all 3 from one card, and I've tried doing various combinations using both cards and I can only get 2 monitors to run.

(25" and a 19") I tried installing the 2nd one but nothing happened and it wasn't being recognized. how do i set up the two monitors and is it possible. Edit i solved the other problem. I when the gtx 460 was recognized both of them stopped working so i had to disable it. how do i make it so they are both enabled and work with each other?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of having 3 monitors. Right now I have two, and my setup is so that the desktop scales across both so I can just drag a window from one screen to another.
If I put in a second video card and setup a 3rd monitor, will it scale on over one more time? I'm not sure how to set that up since I've never seen it in person before.
Any ideas on how that would work? I currently have an 8800GT that's got the two hooked into it, and I'm planning on getting some other cheap nVidia card just for the 3rd monitor. I just want to make sure it will scale on across to the 3rd monitor as well.
Has anyone here had experience with 3D monitors? I've just seen on Engadget that JVC are launching a 46" 3D HDTV for around $7,000.

I started a PhD on autostereoscopic monitors just a couple of years ago, which is a type of 3D display that doesn't need any glasses to view 3D images (but has some drawbacks compared to polarised displays, like the JVC one above).
Most nVidia graphics cards are capable of displaying many existing 3D games on a 3D monitor/TV without much extra configuration. So you could be playing Flight Sim, Team Fortress or other 3D games quite easily in true 3D
Admitedly, it's more novel than useful for many games - but flight sim is amazing in 3D. I'd love to have a setup like this in my living room!
This problem started a few months ago when I updated the video drivers on my NVIDIA card. What happens is that when the pc goes to sleep, either by my command or after timing out for inactivity, the pc will wake up when prompted by mouse or keyboard, but the monitors don't. I know the pc wakes because when tapping on keys or clicking the mouse button I will occasionally hear pings from the pc. I'm not convinced that the problem is NVIDIA's, but this does coincide with an updated driver of theirs.Ultimately, in order to get my machine working again I have to press the power button and restart cold. Also, and I'm not sure if this is worth noting, upon cold start, my Kaspersky and clock gadgets, which are normally placed in the upper-right corner of the right monitor, display in the left monitor somewhere off-center.
I'm diligent with keeping drivers updated, but I really have no idea what to do now. I am using two monitors on my system at work, and for some reason my "Monitor 2" goes blank when "Monitor 1" is showing the screensaver in action.
Is there any way to have the screensaver on both monitors simultaneously.
Are there any decent Monitoring gadgets for measuring Core / gpu / HDD Temps out there, as I can not seem to find any?
I have been overclocking so need to monitor my temps for at least the next few weeks and a gadget would be handy, instead of speed fan etc, etc

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a HP dc7900 desktop computer (Intel E8400 3 GHz, / GB RAM with windows 7 ultimate x64).
I would like to use 4 monitors. I have a nvidia 8800 GTS in the PCI-e slot. This card is so big, so I cannot insert an other card to the second PCI-e slot.
If I try to enable the onboard VGA card, the windows won't boot up.
So I bought a nvidia 6200 64BIT PCI card, put it to the PCi slot, but the same happened.
Since I am a musician, I must practice at home and with the modern hardware it became impossible to have total silence in the room, specially a small one. Tried everything an after all, my solution was radical but very effective: My cpu is in my living room with my LCD TV and a keyboard and mouse and, after drilling a wall, I have a LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse, USB hub and a USB CDRom in my studio.
This is perfect because I have total silence to practice and a Home Theater PC in the living room. Under windows XP using the NView software I was able to create a hotkeys combination(ctrl+y) that allowed me to switch monitors without any confirmations, right clicks or dropdown menus. Just click those two keys together and that's it. Now, not even a MultiDisplay Wizard is available.
Sorry for writing so much, but here is the question: How can I switch monitors like I use to do? Is it possible to create a shortcut or hot key or, in a worse case, use the usual way in windows seven but in a way that a confirmation is not required? When I change resolution asking to show only in one of the screens I must run to the other room the confirm the change.
This is the main reason I did not install Vista, but I hope it will be a solution in Windows 7.
I am a new Windows 7 user and so far I really like it. I had XP before and I recently bought a new computer. I am trying to set up triple monitors like I had before. The three monitors are as follows:
1) Acer 19" widescreen #1
2) Acer 19" widescreen #2
3) 40" Sony Bravia LCD TV
I had this working fine on my old computer. I had the two monitors plugged into an added video card, and then the TV plugged into the motherboard. On this new computer, I have one graphics card with all three monitors being plugged into it (one through VGA, one through DVI, and one through S-Video.) I get the two main monitors to work properly, but I can't get windows to extend the Desktop to my third monitor (My TV), like I had before.
When I go to the screen resolution option, it recognizes all of the monitors, only it will only let me select two to actively use. I would even be satisfied if I could get the second AND third monitor to show the same thing. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do?
I have dual monitors, one on my laptop and another bigger monitor for when I am docked and at the office.
Under XP I had it set so that when I closed the lid on my laptop, the lapto screen was shut off and all files that were subsequently opend were opened to the main big screen.
It appears now that when I close the lid the screen stays on and if there was a window showing on the laptop when the lid is closed it does not automatically switch to the big monitor. It used to under XP. Is there a way to duplicate this behavior in Windows 7?
There are times when I want to use just one monitor and shut the monitor built-in to the lap top - off. Is there an easy way to do so?
I have an external LCD monitor connected to my notebook via HDMI. I’d like to be able to turn off the laptop screen or make it go black or run a screensaver ONLY on it, while I’m working/watching a film on my external display. Going into my notebooks settings and toggling from 2 displays to 1, works but is not a process I want to do as frequently as I’m having to do now.
Basically I’d like to be able to turn on and off (or blackout the screen or run screensaver) my notebooks display, as quickly as possible, while not effecting whatever is going on, on the external display.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIt seems like all I ever see is a bunch of geek double-speak, whenever I look at these "question and answer" sites when it comes to hooking-up three monitors. Can anybody out there put it in VERY simple terms. What I would like is one HD picture monitor and two normal. I have a 26" Samsung HDTV, Dell 19" HDTV, and a Dell 19" traditional (square) monitor.
I bought another video card (NVIDIA Geforce 9600GT XFX) just so I could have the additional two monitor outputs. Well, I get this thing and find out I have to remove the video card I already have in order to install the new one! It is like robbing Peter to pay Paul. The card installed has a HMMI, DVI, and the other one, whaever its called. So it has three outputs, but I guess I can't use them, or so I was told. On top of that I have to hook it up (the new video card) to extra power and I have no idea where I am supposed to get it.
I am very frustrated by all the crap. I have a Dell Studio E5200 computer, nothing too special. I really don't need anything too special, I just want the convenience of having three monitors and can not understand why it is so hard.
I have a 15 inch laptop monitor and a 26 inch monitor connected. How do I get each to have different resolutions?
