App To Separate Taskbar To Three Monitors?
Jun 8, 2012
I searched and found many posts about multi-monitor taskbars, but none that address what I am trying to do.
Left Monitor: Quicklaunch bar
Middle Monitor: Start button and application taskbar
Right Monitor: Systray
Is there any 3rd party app that will do that?
I know I can easily extend the whole taskbar across all monitors, but that doesn't do what I want. Ultimately 3 separate completely modular taskbars (where you drag different components to them) would be nice.

Is there a method/hack or a 3rd-party program that allows the user to hide the taskbar by dragging its top border line downwards, after un-locking the taskbar? I remember I could do that under Win9x.

So about a month ago I restarted my computer and when it came back on all my programs pinned to my task bar and everything that was in my start menu was gone. From there I could not unlock the taskbar and nothing would pin in either the start menu or taskbar. I researched everywhere about it. I tried unlocking the taskbar in properties and registry with no luck. I finally found some posts about how my user profile was corrupt and from there I went on and made a new profile and copied everything and BOOM it all worked fine now. Well today it happened AGAIN! I restarted my computer and everything disappeared. So I think it is still a corrupt profile, but this is the second time it has happened.

I have a client that has laptop with windows 7 Pro. He had a faulty network card, so I have added a new, usb network card. That said, He can not pin anything to taskbar or start menu. I cleared both folders of shortcuts(567 of them) but to no avail. He also has no options under his desktop Context menu for New. He is also using a roaming profile, of which I will disable next time I am there. I have a feeling that might be the issue. I did scour the internet trying all the usual suggestions, but do vaguely remember something about an entry in cache somewhere that if it is too big or corrupt, it could cause this behavior. I am unable to find that post anywhere now.I mention the network card because one post had taskbar issues until he disabled his faulty network card. I have disabled the faulty network card.

I had a program installed called Spiral Knights, and I pinned the icon onto the taskbar so I could quickly launch it. When I was done playing it for good, I uninstalled it and it looked like the icon was off the taskbar, but it wasn't. When I tried to put another program onto the taskbar, called minecraft_server.jar, it pinned to the Spiral Knights icon, even though SK isn't installed anymore. Wherever I try to put the minecraft_server.jar onto the taskbar, the SK program is still there, and it says if I want to pin the minecraft_server.jar onto SK.

2) Is it possible to shift some of data from Window7 to Winserver2003 HDD because my main HDD (which is having Window 7) is running short of space.

Have two HDD, one with Windows 7 professional 1TB SATA and other older win XP sp3 160gb SATA. To keep working environment separate, I use one HDD at a time, disconnecting other HDD. It used to work fine except 2 days back, when I had shut down winXP 160GB HDD with hibernation and after detaching that sata cord and reconnecting 1 TB sata cord, there was a major startup failure. With Windows 7 DVD RE, after opening system recovery dialogue box, no options were working including startup repair, system image recovery and system restore. In command prompt, c drive could not be detected. However, after bootrec.exe/fixmbr win 7 started but is a bit slower. How to avoid this problem? Does hibernation of one HDD interferes with startup of other HDD even though no RAM changes take place?. Does frequent change of HDD like this cause hardware/software damage?Specs - Core 2 duo 1.83ghz, 946gzis mb, 2gb RAM, ATI radeon 4850 512mb, VIP 600w smps.

have a 1TB drive partitioned into two 500GB partitions. One has everything on it, the other is a backup of the other partition (I know, a horrible idea, but I had no alternative). I now have a 60GB SSD that I want to use only as a boot drive, and store everything else that I possibly can on the 1TB hard drive. Here's my question: What is the best way to go about setting this up? Do I need to set up RAID? Also, will I be able to selectively restore the OS and anything else necessary onto the SSD from my backup partition?

I was wondering how to for example, make a program work, while it is using its core files on another file.
Example: I have a Fast HD with limited space, and i have a slow HD with lots of space.
Now, i have a program that in its folder has Core file, Videos file and .exe
If i remove one of them, it stops working. I want only core file to be on the fast HD while i want the other files running at the slow HD. How do i do that?
Long story short : I want a program to run with its files running on separate HDs.
I have many purposes to do that, since i have programs, games that i want to run faster, and mainly games have files like Videos, etc that doesn't need to be on a fast HD.

I made 3 partitions on a 128G SSD. I installed Win7Pro64 on the first partition. Now I'm ready to install some programs and I just realized, I don't really want to change the default directories at all...I think that's just asking for confusion and trouble.
I was so convinced I needed a separate Programs partition. good reason to have a separate partition for your programs?

My issue is that I have a separate folder on my storage drive for tv shows, and I want to be able to watch them in another room via my Xbox 360. I've added the folder to the library list for both recorded tv and videos but none of the shows appear. I don't really want to add them to the movies area (where my movies do show up) since I prefer keeping them separate. Can I create another folder for these tv shows or is there a way to make them appear in the recorded tv folder?

I have 5 hard drives in my system and I have installed windows 7 x64 on 2 separate drives and done this within windows. However a few times it booted okay but then started hanging on the post where it states verifying DMI pool data. Subsequently I tried everything to repair as I thought that the MBR was probably corrupted.
I have installed windows separately now on each drive by disconnecting all drives except the one that I am installing and then shut that down, disconnected it and connected the next and installed a fresh copy there to.
I am concerned that windows will corrupt the MBR again when I connect the drives one by one. I am not overly optimistic about windows boot manager and its reliability.

As far as I know Win7 introduces a new Bootmanager system. At old WinXP times the bootmanager was put into the first bootable partition on the first hard disc. This partition could contain the actual Windows XP itself in addition. From Win7 times on Bootmanager should be installed in a separate (only 100 MB small) additional primary partition. When booting the system at first this Bootmanager "meta" partition is called which in turn calls the actual Windows 7 OS partition.Ok, currently I prepared three partition on my hard disc:
- 40 GB for Win7
- 100 MB for Bootmanager
- 500 GB for data
When I installed now recently 64bit Win 7 Pro everything was put on the first 40 GB partition. The installation procedure did not ask where to put the Bootmanager. Where is it? Is Bootmanager only created/established when a SECOND OS is installed on the hard disc?

I've just got a fresh Windows 7 install up, and I was wondering-- is it worth keeping an admin account separate, and running on a standard user unless needed? Would some things be restricted completely, or would it just require a password instead of automatic? Also, if it is the case that I should be running in standard for security reasons, can I make a new account, switch that one to admin, and make this one standard without messing anything up? I have a bit of programs installed on this current administrator account (right now, the only one on the computer. The programs I have installed, specifically, are Avira/Malwarebytes and Firefox.

Ok I have Win XP on a ide drive (still use) I bought Windows 7 and installed on a seperate drive (sata) I also Have a 1TB Storage drive for media, files etc... (sata)
Now how do I do a dual boot with what operating system I want to start with Currently, I am disconnecting one of the drives from inside the case to use either Xp or 7.
As I know when using XP it says C Drive and the same for Windows 7 when Im using that...
Think it will crash or fail to install as they both say C Drive where the O.S. is.
Ok.I got it using Easy BCD..with no issues apart from a major one now!
I have 4 Sata connections on mobo
1-Data Drive for files / media (1TB)
2-Win 7 (320Gb)
3-DVDRW Drive
4-Blank
on iDE cable - is Win XP
Now upon startup where it asks wither I want 7 or XP I can open/eject the drive but when either OS Starts and is ready to use ...my drive sticks ...cant open screen freezes!
Tried in 4th Sata connection and also other drive and same thing happens!
Mobo specs are : MCP6P M2+
4GB Memory

So after 0 signs of problems I restart the computer and get the bsod after windows loads everytime. I decided to order a new hdd and i'm going to install 7000 on it so I can download 7100 on it next week. I decided to try putting windows on a seperate partition but I have a couple questions and concerns. First, is there a way to seperate the file system (program files, documents, etc.) so that I can install into these places. Because I'd still like to have the start menu programs and also, many programs just automatically install things into my documents automatically and I don't want anything other than drivers and system files on the partition so it doesn't become fragmented. Is there any way these issues can be addressed?
