I have an Acer Aspire 7745g laptop, 8gb ram, ati 5650m graphics card, and an i5 460M dual core with hyperthreading, clock speed 2.53 ghz and Windows 7 64 bit When playing games like BF3, I notice that the processor is close to 100%, usually between 90% and sometimes going to 100%. I was wondering why Intel Turbo boost never kicks in, it says with turbo boost my cpu can go up to 2.8 ghz, but it always stays at 2.53 whenever I check on the turbo boost monitor
May I know can I disable Intel® Turbo Boost Technology Monitor & Intel® Management Engine Components or not? If I disable both of them will cause any bad effect?
When I try to install it at the end I get this message: Uploaded with ImageShack.us I tried going into cmd and typing ''regsvr32 VbScript'' and it worked as it should, but even after I removed the driver and tried installing it again it still did not work.
I read a little about it at Intel's website that its for Core i7 (which I have), but when I try to install it I get an error box that my hardware is not supported.
Just curious if anyone knows anything about this driver and/or why I may not be able to install it.
Did a clean install on my Vaio laptop (VPCF11LFX) of Win 7 64 bit Ultimate. Before I had a program under Control Panel/Program and Features called Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver. Now I don't. I can't find out what this program is or what it's purpose is. Is it even necessary as my laptop seems to be running fine. I found the latest version (I think) and it seemed to load but when I checked, it didn't show up under Programs and Features.
Finally got a new laptop yesterday, yay! so im still figuring things out since im new to laptops and windows 7, just wondered if someone can explain what is intel turbo boost technology monitor software? please everytime i switch on there's a wee window opened and it's something to do with this.
So who actualy did try check temperature while cpu is at max work with turbo boost? On mine it can go till 75C at least and i consider it prety hot, before you ask - no its a new laptop with 2 month lol Aspire 7750G/ Intel i5 2430M 2.4ghz (Turbo Boost till 3.0ghz) also use a base akasa helix cooler.I decided to disable Turbo Boost wich wont pass trough 55C under max workload, whats your opinion on this? im prety sure that anything higher than 70C is crushing CPU eventualy.
I've just bought a new laptop(acer aspire 7750 g windows 7 64bit) and i have a question related to it. I learned that my laptop have a turbo boost technology but I did not install any driver about it .When i want to install from(Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / Aspire / Aspire 7750G) the process dont complete well. Should i install the driver for activating the turbo boost ?
I've done a mild overclock on my i5 2500k processor. I simply changed the multiplier to x44.Should I disable turbo boost in my bios? And, or, maybe think of anything else?
I will be running a large number of engineering heavy mathamatical calculation single thread programs. Would you expect a i5-2500 use turbo to increase clock speed to 3.7?
I was thinking of overclocking my Intel E5400 cpu and wanted to know how easy it would be and how higih it can go. I also have a utility on my pc from foxconn which allows me to over clock it automatically would it be worth just doing that to be on the safe side?
I have a possibility to buy cheap an intel turbo memory 1GB. The seller says that it works only on Vista, and that 512MB are for Vista ReadDrive, and 512MB are for Vista ReadyBoost. Can me someone explain in easiest words what is ReadyBoost and ReadyDrive? And will it work on Windows 7? And makes it any sense? What benefits can i have from using it.
I upgraded to windows 7 over vista the other day and I just noticed a problem. I have the Intel Turbo Memory Readyboost and it used to work perfectly with Vista, but I just opened the window where you enable/disable it, and it said it was disabled, so i enabled it and it asked me to restart my computer so I did, and when I restarted I went back just to make sure it was enabled and it is still disabled. I tried it again and same thing happened... anyone know why or how to fix it?
I used Bost my Pc to increase my Pc's ram. Later formatted the flash drive but now it doesn't work anymore but just some errors. The drive besides that works perfectly.
I have Windows 7 64 bit and 8 gb ram (the most that the MB will accept. I had a spare 16gb ready boost compatiable USB drive and used it for Ready Boost. Seems a little bit quicker. My question is this: ReabyBoost is addressing 4 GB of the 16gb. I think this is all it is supposed to do. Can I used the remain 12 gb for storage or as a working area for products without compromising Ready boost?
I received this message today on my screen. I went to Intel but could not understand what they were telling me to do something about BIOS nnd Sata and now I'm lost. My computer has just slowed down to a crawl these last 4 or 5 days, could this be the problem. I'm a novice and quite lost. My browsers and mail programs are working at a crawl.
I have an Asus U56E which has an Intel Centrino 6150 Wireless N + Wimax network adapter on it. This card ran fine the first few months I had it. Then I installed Ubuntu 12.04 with my windows install and ran it dual boot. The card worked fine on Windows but I had to make some configuration changes on Ubuntu for it to run. I did that and it worked fine still. Then, naively, I installed a registry cleaner (wise registry cleaner to be exact), and some time after installing it and running it regularly (usually 2-3 times a week) something went wrong and I started getting this issue with my card. What happens is the wireless will be functioning for some time, perfectly normal, and then it will just lose internet connection. I will have to disable and re-enable the adapter through device manager to get it to work but that only works sometimes, most of the time the device just won't start again and I will get the device can not start error in device manager. Also, when this happens I usually restart my computer and sometimes when I do that (or even when I just turn my laptop on or come back from putting it to sleep) the adapter is not recognized at all, doesn't even show up in device manager. What's most odd about that is that the Wimax still shows up on the list of network adapters but the wireless doesn't show up.The steps I have taken to try and remedy this issue are, re-install the drivers (by uninstalling them first) from both the asus and intel websites, do a fresh install of Windows (didn't fix the problem but made it occur a little less) and open my laptop casing and unplug and replug the network adapter.I'm not sure what to do from here, I'm assuming its the card itself at this point that is messed up and my speculations with the registry cleaner causing the issue were just a time coincidence. However, I want to be certain that is the case instead of going out and spending time and money getting a new network adapter when the problem lies elsewhere.
My Windows 7 is running slow however it is different from simply lagging. The mouse works fine however clicking on applications does not bring them up. The only difference I can see is an error message coming up saying "Intel Rapid Storage Technology not working". Any ideas on what I should do or extra information you require?
My Mother board has this capability of ''unlocking'' cores on my Athlon II X3 445, from 3 cores to 4... but the problem is, it resets the number of cores everytime i restart my pc... is there any way i can keep 4 cores unlocked at any time given?
I noticed your saying or whatever it's called at the bottom of your posts. What is "overclocking"? Does it speed your system? I have a XP Pro laptop that needs speed badly. It only has 1GB RAM, and it dual boots with Win 2K Pro, a slow startup system. Tell me more about it.
I can't find any where to boost my 20 db in windows 7.The custom setting just isn't their in the audio settings under recording.I'm using a plantronics 648 USB headset so it's not hidden in the audio cards control panel either - I also checked the control panel in the products software and zip their too.
The flyer that came with this month's PCA included a tip to utilise a blank USB flash drive for virtual memory. When I go to Properties/ReadyBoost on the USB drive, it says "This device cannot be used by ReadyBoost"Then it says "ReadyBoost is not enabled because the service responsible for ReadyBoost (Sysmain) has been turned off on this computer. An administrator can turn the Sysmain service back on"When I searched, including Microsoft website, there is no recognition of the term Sysmain.
I am thinking of overclocking my current cpu therefore I have got my self a new heatsink and fan. However I am kinda of an armature so I am worried replacing the heatsink. The only problem is that I don't have any cleaner to fully clean the old thermal paste so I wanted to ask is it recommended that one should clean it properly and if so can i use a white spirit to remove the old layer of thermal paste. Please post your suggestion or I will have to wait another few days for the alchol based cleaner
Will I actually gain anything out of overclocking an AMD 5770? What's the easiest, most trouble-free way of doing it? I'm thinking AMD overdrive in CCC and letting it automatically detect my settings.
Not sure if it helps but I can turn my fans on my case (Antec 900) up high, if that may help with heat. I've also overclocked my CPU from 3.0ghz --> 3.4ghz and it runs fine so far.
Should I overclock my gtx 550ti? and how much? would I notice a difference? How would I do this? Could you guys answer these for me? I also have a i7 3770k, and 16gb ram.Not sure about the psu how would I check?
I have windows 7 with nVidia GeForce GTX 660M I'm trying to overclock the MHz above the default setting of 10,000.But when I try to raise the MHz it automatically raises it self to 11111 and when I select "Exit And Save" It never saves. If this matters any my computer also has Intel HDGraphics that it uses when I'm not gaming, but when I am gaming it automatically switches to nVidia.
