Integrated Webcam - Camera Is Used By Another Program
Jul 5, 2012
I have a little trouble with my integrated webcam, I have a laptop ASUS X64jv with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. My webcam does not work. I tried to launch LifeFrame3 but it cannot open and a window appear and it is written on it: "The camera is Used by Another program" But which program?
My integrated camera on my lenovo laptop stopped working last night. It doesn't do anything when I try to connect to it on Skype etc.it just has a grey screen. I tried reinstalling the drivers but that didn't work and now I don't know what to do.
i have an Lenovo g470 laptop with windows 7 Home Basic, Service pack 1, 64 bits and the webcam wont work. when i start up cyberlink youcam, it says: "Warning, No webcam detected. Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now. If you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on". It worked when i first got my computer for a few months, then it stopped.
I recently upgraded a MICRO-STAR INT'L CO.,LTD. MS-1034 0341 from XP/SP3, to Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. The laptop has a Digital Camera integrated into it. While the system was XP, the webcam worked. I could open My Computer, and if the camera was turned on, it showed in the inventory of devices. Now, with the new and better Windows 7 ULTIMATE, , as the camera says it is connected, but it isn't in the "Computer" inventory, and that is where you really turn the thing on. I have downloaded drivers out the ying-yang and get the same result each time.
I've got a newish HP notebook and I frequently use skype for voice and video chatting with friends and family; however, It recently has stopped working for no apparent reason. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I did notice that the webcam stopped working after I updated skype recently. The microphone also now works intermittently.. If I initiate a call with skype, my microphone will not work, but if I make a test call to the echo test service it works, and then works subsequently on my call afterwards. If I go to initiate any type of video exchange, a picture of youcam displays as my webcam image asking to start my webcam as seen here in this picture from my skype webcam settings This also shows when trying to use my webcam on chatroulette, omegle, etc. Here, when I start the youcam program itself I get this error message If I go to tools and settings in the youcam program (which I can only access when I start the program via skype?) I click the dropdown menu to select my webcam device but no options show.
Here is a picture of my device manager, which suddenly displays no evidence of the hardware, even after scanning for hardware changes. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with someone from HP support and got no where. They tried to remote connect to my computer using some sort of HP support software instead of windows remote connect. They could never connect and told me I need to backup everything on my computer and format it!? Does this sound normal? I said never mind and hung up, I figure there has to be an easier way to deal with this. Perhaps if I cannot find a solution here I will take that step but figured I would try here first.

i just asking some question about my webcam in my net book laptop.i open my webcam in my menu, but the system sending a message that '' no camera or webcam found''. but when i use the yahoo messenger webcam its working.i dont know how to open it again in the menu bar.
My webcam had been working fine since I got my laptop last year and just recently stopped working about a month ago. The device manager says that it's working fine and all drivers are up to date. But whenever I open Dell Webcam Central it doesn't recognize the webcam at all and asks me to plug in a supported device.
I recently got my laptop screen replaced. Although the integrated webcam is connected as the light comes on and there is an image, it is not clearAs soon as I realised the webcam was not working I took it back to the repair shop and they checked the connections and said everything is fine. The tech support of the company that sold me the screen said to reinstall the screen as maybe the wires are not connected properly. However, the repair shop guy said everything is connected and the webcam itself is connected. He said they can reinstall the screen but if there is nothing wrong on their part (i.e. they have connected it properly) I will have to pay.The repair shop guy said he thinks that the webcam captor got damaged when I broke the screen (sorry if captor is the wrong word, I am currently abroad and the repair shop guy speaks French).Do you have any advice? I do not want to get it reinstalled only to find everything is connected and have to pay again
Recently I've been getting seemingly random error messages saying that a usb device is not recognized. In an attempt to fix this, I decided to update drivers and whatnot. I discovered that the integrated camera is the source of the problem; when I tried to update it, I got an error that it was not plugged in. However, this is clearly not the case; I took it to the (admittedly incompetent) tech support guy at my school, who moved my data onto a loaner computer while he tries to fix my own. However, despite the fact that I'm using a different computer, it still claims that the usb device is plugged in, so I am convinced that it isn't a hardware problem.
The built in webcam on my Acer laptop stopped working. When I tried to use it, a message popped up that said I needed to update it. So I let the computer update. After that my computer wasn't able to detect my webcam. So I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it from the internet but it still doesn't. It installed but when I try to open it, it says "Camera not found".
Email program for windows 7 to make my webcam send emails from dell 15. i am currently using Google for email. do i need to install the windows 7 program to send webcam photos?
Will the intel HD graphics in the Celeron G555 be enough to run games that are 10 or more years old? The highest spec games I want to play on it is like warcraft 3 and dreamfall. I want to play them at max settings and I know integrated graphics is bad for gaming but its only playing old games.
Edit: this is a new build that I'm selecting components for so I can't just install them and see if it works.
I bought Dell Inspiron 1564 n series (without OS) and put Windows 7 Ultimate 32 in it.OS installed fine but integrated graphics isn't recognized.I went to Dell, downloaded chipset drivers, but on intel graphics drivers I get answer "This computer does not meet minimum requirements for installing the software."Mind you first I have tried 64 bit Windows 7 enterprise version but with same result.I thought it's 64bit thing so I went to 32bit.I think I tried it al> Platform : Intel Calpella> Mainboard : Dell 0JY92C> Chipset : Intel HM55> Processor : Intel Core i5 450M @ 2400MHz> Physical Memory : 3072MB> Video Card : Standard VGA Graphics Adapter> Hard Disk : Seagate ST9320325AS ATA Device (320GB)> DVD-Rom Drive : HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GT32N> Monitor Type : 1K0R2156WH2 - 15 inches> Network Card : Broadcom BCM4310 USB Controller> Network Card : Realtek Semiconductor RTL8101 PCIe Fast Ethernet Adapter> Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate Professional Media Center 6.01.7600 (32-bit)> DirectX : Version 11.00
SAPPHIRE 100323L Radeon HD 6570 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card?I don't know much about computers internally. I've been researching and unfortunately could not find any of the answers I've been looking for. I currently have the Acer Aspire X1420G running an AMD Athlon II X4 645 Processor 3.10 GHZ and 4GB RAM.. the power supply is 220W. its very weak from what i have read. So the question is, would i be able to upgrade to a SAPPHIRE 100323L Radeon HD 6570 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100323L Radeon HD 6570 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card Without having to swap out the PSU? I'm on a budget hence the 450$ computer, so the PSU I'm trying to avoid buying, but I will if i have to. Because if I'm going to be spending the money to upgrade my performance, I want to do it right.
is there a chance or a way that a integrated laptop be a dedicated? my laptop has an intel HD 3000,and in my lappy sticker it says "1760 MB dynamic video memory" what does it mean?is there a way to use all of 1760MB for VRAM?like boosting it to for example 1gb of vram, sorry i dont have knowlegde about intel family T_T.

I have an HP desktop computer running Windows Seven. I bought a new graphics card that comes with software. Can somebody walk me through step by step on how to disable the integrated graphics and installing a PCI one.
My HP ProBook 4730s contains switchable graphics. One of which, is an ATI Radeon HD 7470M, and the other is a generic Intel HD Family. Now, I can assure you that when I switch between cards, they switch properly, and are in the correct order. I have checked with many different methods. Now to the actual issue. In low and medium end games, my Intel out preforms my ATI my miles. For example, in Trackmania United Forever, on my ATI, medium settings, 720p, no AA = 20fps. Intel, max settings, 900p (native res), 4x AA = 60fps.However, if I play Mirror's Edge, these results are inverted, thus proving that the ATI is more powerful.
What I can only conclude is that the ATI is attempting to conserve power by limiting it's performance in low end games. Problem is, I have configured it for max performance in every setting I can find. I just don't get it.
