Will the intel HD graphics in the Celeron G555 be enough to run games that are 10 or more years old? The highest spec games I want to play on it is like warcraft 3 and dreamfall. I want to play them at max settings and I know integrated graphics is bad for gaming but its only playing old games.
Edit: this is a new build that I'm selecting components for so I can't just install them and see if it works.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy HP ProBook 4730s contains switchable graphics. One of which, is an ATI Radeon HD 7470M, and the other is a generic Intel HD Family. Now, I can assure you that when I switch between cards, they switch properly, and are in the correct order. I have checked with many different methods. Now to the actual issue. In low and medium end games, my Intel out preforms my ATI my miles. For example, in Trackmania United Forever, on my ATI, medium settings, 720p, no AA = 20fps. Intel, max settings, 900p (native res), 4x AA = 60fps.However, if I play Mirror's Edge, these results are inverted, thus proving that the ATI is more powerful.
What I can only conclude is that the ATI is attempting to conserve power by limiting it's performance in low end games. Problem is, I have configured it for max performance in every setting I can find. I just don't get it.
I am running Windows 7 32 bit, which i have installed recently, and i am having trouble finding the driver for the integrated graphics for my system that will work with Win 7.

I tried it again to make sure it would still happen (it did, not a great idea) and tried with the discrete card active which let it run. I also noticed the laptop having some minor issues in other places as well.
I have a evga motherboard with an integrated nvidia 8200 graphics card. I am having issues with the latest nvidia 8 series drivers (my monitor will go blank randomly for a second or two).
Should I have installed the nforce series drivers (the driver package that runs the entire motherboard) that are months older because my graphics are integrated or should I stick with the latest 8 series drivers?

View 7 Replies View RelatedAround the new year, I installed new RAM. Ever since, I have been getting BSOD at various times. I ran memtest86 and it came back clean. Unfortunately I left the old RAM a few thousand miles away so I can't test it with that. I also started playing a couple of more graphics intensive games (Star Trek Online and BFBC2) around that same time. At first, the BSOD would only occur during gameplay. Lately, the games have been running better but I get random blue screens while web browsing about once a week. The ones during games usually said atimpag.sys or dxgmms.sys. The ones during browsing usually say ntfs.sys or fltmgr.sys. ntoskrnl.exe seems to occur with both. I've attached a file with the dmps and some screen shots of cpuz.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have really bad lag when running any application that requires full screen mode. I've got the latest AMD drivers that supports my GFX card (Asus Radeon 4850). I used to have a Nvidia card and I would just change one of the settings to get rid of the lag. I changed the Graphics card and reformatted the computer so it shouldn't be a driver issue. I have Service Pack 1 and all the updates for Windows installed.The lag is unbearable for games, so I can't play any games that require full screen, no issues when it's run in windowed mode. I've used FPS monitors while running games (Fraps and MSI afterburner) and the frame rates readings are normal (above 60 always) but it always looks like 20-ish no matter which game I play.
For videos there's always some kind of problem. Used various media players, and different browsers for flash videos but sometime the video skips to the end very quickly, or won't continue playing and halts immediately somewhere along the way. Used MSI Kombustor to stress out the GPU, and it maxes at 70� at 100% load. Directx 10 stress test seems to be blurry, every other test seems fine to run but would have the lag from being in full screen.
I've been having alot of trouble looking for solutions to update my standaard vga graphics adapter and cant find any. Ive been looking for hours and some of the solutions i found said to uninstall it. Im not sure if my computer could b harmed by uninstalling it but are there any solutions to update it? Ive been trying to play several games every few months when im bored but they end up not working so i delete them. View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got a newish HP notebook and I frequently use skype for voice and video chatting with friends and family; however, It recently has stopped working for no apparent reason. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I did notice that the webcam stopped working after I updated skype recently. The microphone also now works intermittently.. If I initiate a call with skype, my microphone will not work, but if I make a test call to the echo test service it works, and then works subsequently on my call afterwards. If I go to initiate any type of video exchange, a picture of youcam displays as my webcam image asking to start my webcam as seen here in this picture from my skype webcam settings This also shows when trying to use my webcam on chatroulette, omegle, etc.Here, when I start the youcam program itself I get this error message If I go to tools and settings in the youcam program (which I can only access when I start the program via skype?) I click the dropdown menu to select my webcam device but no options show.
Here is a picture of my device manager, which suddenly displays no evidence of the hardware, even after scanning for hardware changes. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with someone from HP support and got no where. They tried to remote connect to my computer using some sort of HP support software instead of windows remote connect. They could never connect and told me I need to backup everything on my computer and format it!? Does this sound normal? I said never mind and hung up, I figure there has to be an easier way to deal with this. Perhaps if I cannot find a solution here I will take that step but figured I would try here first.

I tried to installed the ones available and my display went black,so i had to start in VGA safe mode to get back the display. Now my default display is VGA since I am not able to find the drivers for my adapter. I also used the original Toshiba M45 recovery cd(where drivers are) and it tells me , wrong operating system since my recovery cd is for Windows Xp instead of Windows 7.
