Frequent Internet Access Dropping ''Limited Internet Access"
Oct 4, 2011[code] I never had this issue on Windows Vista, occasionally my internet will randomly dropout. Limited Internet Access". When it does I can do a few things to get it working again:
- Disable, then enable my wireless card and reconnect.
- Uninstall the card, then re-install and reconnect.
- Disconnect from the internet myself and reconnect.
Either way it gets super frustrating. There is 1 other computer plugged directly into the router that does not experience any issues. In addition, I have 1 laptop (windows 7) that works great and 1 laptop (Windows XP) which works great.
OpenVPN On Windows 7 Pro X64 - Connect / Disconnect (Grayed Out)
May 15, 2012I've run into problems installing OpenVPN in the past on Windows 7, but my normal fixes don't seem to work on this box. I have other Windows 7 nodes up and running OpenVPN, but none specifically on a Pro x64 box (if that even matters,) so I hope it's possible. My problem is once OpenVPN is installed, it's GUI doesn't give me an option to 'Connect' when I right-click the tray icon. Normally, there are options to Connect, Disconnect (grayed), Edit Password, View Log, etc.
Normally, I can take ownership of the OpenVPN program folder and that takes care of this precise problem, but not this time. In other versions, the GUI can be run in Vista compatability, or just run as administrator. But, this one still doesn't work. There's at least one event that manifests when the GUI launches.

OpenVPN does install a TAP Win32 Adapter whose drivers sometimes produce the 'are you sure you want to install this driver?' dialog.

Jul 1, 2011When my computer says Internet Access, I am having trouble browsing.Most pages do not load.Right now, It says no internet access for over 15 minutes and I am able to brose so much better and still going on downloading around 400 kb/s.(I am on a wired connection from a cable internet with NetGear CGD24G Cable Modem (I don't think it is a wireless router). There is wireless connection on the modem, but I am on a wired connection, and I am posting this while it still says no internet access).

Nov 17, 2011i recieved my new lenovo z570 ideapad yesterday...i'll just put some of the spec down incase you want to know.
proccessor: intel i5 (second gen)
graphics: nvidia geforce
os: windows 7 64bit
yadayadayada...
anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!

Feb 1, 2013I have a Dell Inspiron N5110, Intel core 3 processor, and Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit os. I have recently reinstalled windows 7 from the windows 8 os. I can't access my wireless internet, I can only get to the internet via hard wire. I have searched Dell and Intel for the network controller driver and the sm bus controller driver, but to no avail.

No Internet Access Message When Internet Is Available
Aug 26, 2009This is a problem that has probably been solved but I have spent some time looking for the solution without success.
Windows 7 (6.1.7100 build 7100) indicates that I have no Internet connection in spite of the fact that I can browse without any problems (see attached image).
Mostly this is not a problem except that I want to connect to an external server to upload files. Normally I use map network drive for this. When I attempt this, I fail because it doesn't see the Internet connection.
I have tried the following solutions which haven't worked
Disabling link scanning in AVG Disabling all other network connections

Mar 12, 2011I have a Velocity Micro desktop, it came with XP Media Center 32 bit and has a Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB of ram, I've been wanting to try 7 for a long time so I bought a new 1TB WD black hard drive and a OEM copy of Win 7 home premium, I removed the old hard drive, installed new drive and proceeded to install Win 7, everything went fine on the install but I can't get it to connect to the internet, it reports error 651 "The modem has reported an error" and then a box pops up that looks like an old dial up connection box with a spot for a name and password and says redial in 45 sec. I'm not on dial up but am on DSL with a new Netgear N router, this computer was connecting fine just before I did the install, if I check Device manager it says the network card is working properly, and I can unhook the network cable from this computer and plug it into an old laptop with no wireless and it connects with the cable and gets 5Mbps speed so nothing is wrong with the cable

Aug 17, 2011My computer was built by CyperPowerPC a year ago. Have had zero problems with it until some updates were automatically put in a month or so ago. After the install, my pc still was showing that I was connnected to the internet, except my browser (firefox) would not load any pages.
I restored the system back to a previous point to fix this. But have since restarted my machine and the problem came back (didn't realize the updates got installed automatically on reboot). My question is what do I do as a permanant fix in lieu of system restore? I think the updates causing the problem are related to security reasons. I ran anti malware and it found and deleted 2 things but still no help.
I think there were 20 or so updates that got installed, how do I know which is the problem? (if it is the updates at all). I can get more info tonight (ie specific update names) if needed.
