ATi Radeon X1900GT (512MB) Or EVGA 9800GT (512MB) - Which Is Better?

Question for all of you:
ATi Radeon X1900GT (512MB) or eVGA 9800GT (512MB) - Which is better?
I currently have the ATi card but found the 9800GT and a 9800GTX on ebay. Wanted to know if I would notice any graphic enhancements.
Currently I play Battlefield 2 but want to get into more games down the road after I upgrade some other parts of my system (Mobo & Ram).
Installing Win 7 On PC With Less Than 512MB Ram
Oct 19, 2009i tried to install windows 7 32bit from a usb key, i got to the installation but i couldn't proceed because i got a message saying 512MB is the minimum required and i have 360MB.
i saw some people on the web installed it on 128Mb and less so i'm guessing there's a work around for this issue..
Backup / Torrent Server With 512MB
Jul 24, 2009Someone is giving me their older computer, with pretty unimpressive specs. The only thing I'm concerned about is the 512MB of memory. On the other hand, I'm only planning on using the computer to act as a torrent and backup "server."
Will I have any issues running Windows 7? How about 64-bit, which allegedly requires 2GB of memory minimum? If I can't run it, it's not a big deal, but I was hoping to have all my systems running Windows 7.

Jun 21, 2012I have a two year old Dell PC with Windows 7. I got a virus in my computer that by phone and computer takeover Norton located in my MBR. When they cleaned it my computer will no longer boot up. Norton worked with me for three days on the problem but we were unable to fix the computer. I followed other web sites and repaired my MBR but it still will not boot up. I tried System Repair, Check point, Image, and Dell system restore and all failed. I have tried to use the Windows install CD and all I get is a black screen with a flashing cursor and then after 3 minutes the compute attempts to boot again and fails. I tried everything to try and wipe the drive from C prompt and it will not let me. I have very weak computer skills but I can follow directions and I have wiped a previous computer I owned. (I confirmed that my CD drive is working) I also should mention I have a second hard drive on my computer that I backed everything up to.

Jun 4, 2009I was having a problem with dual monitor using 7127 build. But only when I use newest NVIDIA drivers. My tv just flashes a few times, and I can see that fish a couple of times, but then it just goes to like no signal. If I use default drivers which are installed on windows install, then it works fine, but then I dont have NVIDIA control panel and some other features.
My video card is GF 8800GTS 650M 512MB DDR3 DUAL DVI TV PCIE. I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem and If it has been fixed in the newest build, so I could be arsed to do a clean install.

May 2, 2012I purchased an HP latop right when Windows 7 was coming out and the HP laptop had Windows Vista when I bought it but I was sent a free upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate by HP during the time when they were selling laptops with Vista and sending free upgrades.So what I want to know since the fan stopped working some time ago, (cooling it with a small fan from Walmart sending air around and inside it somewhat) on the HP laptop I purchased and recieved the free upgrade. If I return the HP laptop to factory settings (did a complete backup when purchased) and put Vista back on it, can I use my Windows 7 Ultimate disk in a newly purchased laptop since it will still only be on one laptop since I am returning the old one to Vista?And do I have to uninstall Windows 7 Ultimate with the Upgrade disk so it knows it's no longer on that computer. In other words are they linked by some type of serial number on my HP laptop that only allows me to install the Windows Upgrade disk on that specific machine?

Jun 28, 2011I just bought a new PC from NewEgg . Windows 7 installed fine and booted up great the first time but when I go to reboot, it hangs on the windows logo and than reboots itself.
I have tried reinstalling about 10+ times. I have tried 64bit and 32 bit versions and I have tried 2 different HDDs. The problem isn't the disc because it installs great onto one of my HDDs on my other computer but when I switch that HDD to my new one, it freezes.

Oct 4, 2009I'm doing a clean install of win 7 64 bit off of an official cd. Part of the install goes well. It gets to 100%, reboots, goes to a screen that says it's loading settings. Then it gets to the completing installation phase and always at the same time, it shuts down. I'll hear the CD stop in my computer, then five seconds later, the computer just shuts off and I'll hear a faint beep. There's no warning message on the screen first. If I turn it on again, Windows will give the error that it restarted during install and I'll have to start over.

Oct 28, 2012I just installed a new SSD drive along with two 1TB drives that I put into a RAID 0 configuration. Everything is running great, bootup is fast.
Weird thing is, when I shut my computer down now, windows seems to shutdown, and I hear my Hard drives turnoff, but the fans and leds on the computer keep running for about 2 to 3 minutes before they shut off. Before with my old HDD, it would shutdown windows and the computer would shutdown immediately afterwards.
I'd like it to shutdown immediately again, I sit there waiting for it to turn off as I want to make sure I don't leave the fans running all night.

I got Windows 7 x64 to load once, and everything worked perfect for about an hour while I updated my drivers and whatnot, but then it froze and erased the hard drive. I've been trying to install it the exact same file in the same way off my flash drive and it just won't work. I've tried to switch the ram around and remove one each time, using the cd, using a friends cd, using new connectors from the cpu to each drive and I even tried installing Windows Xp pro but it didn't work for any of that.
