Upgrading To I3-3220 Ivy From I3-2100 Sandy,worth It?
Oct 7, 2012i can't find anything solid when i looked it up on google. Every forum i saw was BEFORE the release of ivy i3's and they are simply speculating but even then they say it is 10% faster.Anyways,i can sell my current i3 2100 which i bought barely 2 months ago for about 106 US$ and get an i3 322- @3.3Ghz for about 129$. The question is,should i? Previously i had an Asrock Extreme 4 gen motherboard and it had a few Pci 3.0 slots and everywhere i read it said that all supported GPU like 7770 will give twice the performance on 3.0 slot IF the processor was Ivy. Im always looking to experiment with these things,ive tried countless GPUs,CPU's and motherboards in hope's to find that perfect build which will cost the LEAST for a new PC gamer and give maximum performance . I think this might just be it. Even with the 2100 it never "bottleneck'ed" my system,it was always my GTX 460 which was lacking.
Anyways need your opinion,and would LOVE to hear from someone who has actually had experience with both or at least the i3-3220 processor.My current system is as mentioned in my profile,what im hoping to build is:

Any motherboard good for Ivy bridge processors
8GB (2x4GB) Crosair XMS3 DDR3 1600Fsb Ram
either 7750 or 7770 depending on the availability and budget left

Jan 9, 2012Media Center Component failing to load.In the thread above it became apparent my install was bad. So, I performed a fresh install. This weekend I recv'd a notice that my backup failed due to corrupt C: . I ran sfc /verifyonly. I've attached both logs. In my last install I had placed all Users onto another drive. This was reported as a bad idea & I assumed it was at least a part of the issue. On the clean install I left everything as Windows wanted it. I do install programs that I expect to not need forever or ones which I don't care about speed, onto a second hard drive. All windows install related files & setup were left on the C: this time.

Feb 16, 2013I clicked on Device Manager > Other Devices > Mass Storage Controller. Under Device Status it said, "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)."
I don't know what device they are talking about. All the storage devices on my PC seem to be working. Why does DM think there is a Mass Storage Controller at location PCI bus 7, device 1, function 2? I clicked on Update Drive - search failed to find a driver and suggested none needed. I clicked the Uninstall button and the message dissapeared until I rebooted the system.
Can somone tell me why Windows 7 might think there is a Mass Storage Controller on my PC?
BSOD Before Login Screen - No Errors Reported In SFC / Scannow
Jun 11, 2010I bought my daughter a laptop. I dont have a windows 7 disc as windows 7 came already installed. However yesterday when she turned laptop off to have her tea and when she went back to use it. We noticed that after the windows logo had appeared the screen stayed black we could move the mouse but that was about it. I put the laptop into safe mode and checked for viruses malware and trojans, also tried a system restore but that didn't seem to do anything and found nothing suspicious.
Also did the sfc /scannow no errors reported. I read that you could get into the Task manager and stop the explore.exe and add a new one and start it again. This however I cannot try as I cant get past the windows logo screen.. So in a nut shell here's what ive tried and failed at doing..
1- Startup repair
2- System restore
3- (Via Safemode) checking for viruses, malware, trojans.
4- (Vie Safemode) updated to latest Graphic Driver
5- Tried this >> Windows 7 Black Screen Of Death Fix << did its job but after reboot went back to black screen
6- Removed battery and pressed power button for 30 - 60 seconds (to no avail)
