View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I am having a problem, I have tried everything. Uninstall , reinstall, plug in for my two printers. Which are, brother hl2170w and my hp deskjet 3845. They were working perfectly fine before I upgraded to 7 ultimate. Now i connect and it detects then installs attempt to installs the drivers, then it fails. It keeps failing saying that it has installed the driver but still asks me to troubleshoot.
Cannot find out what is wrong. These two printers are supported and should have installed properly with no problems. I even tried downloading drivers off of the brother website and installing it like that, but that still doest not work. The hp one is just not installing even though windows tries, it says error.
I have installed the following printers: Epson LX-300+II, HP Laserjet 1010, HP Colour Lasterjet 1515, Canon IP5200.
The printers work and are all displayed from Word, IE, etc, but only one printer shows up in Windows 7 Devices & Printers - usually whichever is selected as default printer. If I remove the displayed printer, it shows me another one. When I first installed, it showed me all the printers, but problems started after I had to remove and reinstall my printers.
l need the drivers

View 2 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 Home Premium 64bit Control Panel -> Devices and Printers show some printers (PDF995 and Microsoft XPS Document Writer) but it does not show my HP OfficeJet 4500. Applications (like IE or Firebird) show it in the list of printer and can print to it.
Edit: I forgot to mention, I am running in the Administrator account and both the laptop and the printer on the same WiFi router. The printer showed up in Device Manager after I clicked Display Hidden Devices (kind of silly to hide devices from the Administrator.)
have lost my hp deskjet 3325 cd, plz send the driver to download.
View 1 Replies View RelatedVista x64 natively supported a bunch of canon printers with x64 drivers. For some printers this support has gone under Windows 7 x64. Perhaps this will help some people ... .
I mounted a Vista x64 ISO-image/source, extracted the folder with the canon printer drivers and installed the Colorpass Z40e driver under Windows 7 x64. In my case I used this driver für a Canon Colorpass Z400e (Canon CLC 1100).
Extraxct :
- use 7zip
- under options check "wim"
- open the install.wim an verify your vista version (important if there is a 64bit and 32 bit version on the same DVD, in my case there was only a 64bit on the systembuilder DVD)
- choose the right folder and extract the canon printer driver folder with 7zip

that is it .
I have a number of printers on the same port ( different versions of PCL5 , PCL6, and PS drives ). In the Windows 7 Control Panel "Devices and Printers" a whole slew of versions are missing and only the latest printer installed on that port is shown. But if I open up a Print.. dialog from any of my applications the names of all the Printers are there from which I can choose.
Why does not the Control Panel "Devices and Printers" show all my printers in Windows 7 ? Under Windows Vista I can see all of them.
I have 2 usb printer install on my windows 7 dell laptop. How do I install a third usb printer. I don't see usb003 anywhere.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRight let me start of with saying it is a zebra ups thermal lp 2844 printer which is connected to the server.it works fine with all the xp machines ( about 15 of them )we have just got in 4 new windows 7 machines, 2 running 32 bit and 2 running 64 bit.i get different error messages between the 32bit and 64bit machines.Let me walk you through, on BOTH machines i go:start > devices and printers > add printer >add network, wireless or Bluetooth device.it then searches, "connecting to ups thermal 2844 on server" windows cannot connect to the printer. cannot create a file when that file already exists. windows cant find a driver for ups thermal 2844 on th network. to locate on manually, click ok. otherwise click cancel and consult your network administrator or the printer manufactorers website. So i then click ok and point to the correct file, which results in the following message: windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. contact your administrator for help loading and installing a suitable driver. The driver i am trying to use is a new windows 7 driver which i downloaded from zebra.com: ( Driver - Search Results)i have also tried all the drivers we have on our server for these machines and also tried the disk that it comes with.

View 9 Replies View Relatedhow network printers work in Windows? Is there only one way of setting these up, or several ways? Do I have to have a driver for the specific printer on the client? Why can't the material be sent to the server in some device independent format (Postscript??), and converted to printer commands on the server? Do I have to have a driver for the specific printer on the server? If the driver is on the client, presumably it's talking directly to the printer (using the server only as a means of communication) using the printer's own command codes, so I don't see why the server needs a driver... Under what circumstances can or can't the client download the driver from the server? What happens if the client and server are running different versions of Windows, either an older version on the client, or an older version on the server? What happens if the client is running 64-bit and the server 32-bit, or vice versa? What happens if there is no driver available for the newer version of Windows (which might be the client, or the server), because the printer is quite old?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi have the opposite, a bran new (old) desktop running win Xp 32 bit, and using 3 laptops in the home all running win 7 64bit, now when i tried to configure something els, i actually made the printers(plugged into the xp desktop) shared in my home network to be able to print without having to plug the printer in. Since This morning, the printers have gone missing from all ym laptops, but not from the desktop, yet ive followed most step by step guides i found on the net, about sharing between xp and win 7, and the printers never came back, and this is a BIG issue now.. i have 3 printers... 1 HP laser jet, and 2 canon, but we mostly use the laserjet one its the Hp Color Laserjet cp1215

View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing Windows 7-Ultimate 64 on an Acer 4530 laptop. This is a personal machine and is not networked except via wifi to my router, and via BT to a single printer. I leave the printer and BT off unless I have to print something, as I don't print daily.
Problem: When I go to print a Word doc (for example) there are multiple instances of printers named like this:
Canon Printer
Canon Printer (Copy 1)
Canon Printer (Copy 2)
Many times I have gone into Printer & Devices and removed all instances of the Copies, making the "Canon Printer" entry the only one, and set as default... but the next time I go to print (which might be a week later), I have multiple instances again.
How can I stop Windows 7 from creating copies of my printer profile?
I have a Windows 7 Pro 64bit SP1 laptop that for over a year was happily on our hardwired work workgroup. A couple of weeks ago I formatted the laptop and ever since I am able to see and use the networked printers but can't see any computers on the network through the Network section on the Windows 7 pc.I am so blocked out that even my own pc, which does show up in networking, rejects my connection attempts.I can access the internet.I can ping other pcs.I can remote access to other pcs.I only can't access shares and browse other pcs.The other pcs on the network are a combination of WinXp and Win server 2003.I have tried the network sharing and registry edit fixes that are regularly proposed. I have turned off the win firewall and uninstalled Norton.
