Jun 18, 2012I have 2 XP Printers on a homegroup network.Installed a new Win7 PC. Can see the Printers shared on the XP network. Windows Update will not find the drivers to install printers. How do I get Win7 to install and use these Win7 compatible printers HP1320 and HP3600.Do I install 32 bit drivers or 64 bit drivers on Win7.Full access to sharing to everyone on systems.Uninstalled McAfee firewall, windows firewall, and Print audit to ensure nothing blocks access to the printers.How do I get Win7 to recognize,install and use these 2 XP Printers?

Dec 13, 2009So I am having a problem, I have tried everything. Uninstall , reinstall, plug in for my two printers. Which are, brother hl2170w and my hp deskjet 3845. They were working perfectly fine before I upgraded to 7 ultimate. Now i connect and it detects then installs attempt to installs the drivers, then it fails. It keeps failing saying that it has installed the driver but still asks me to troubleshoot.
Cannot find out what is wrong. These two printers are supported and should have installed properly with no problems. I even tried downloading drivers off of the brother website and installing it like that, but that still doest not work. The hp one is just not installing even though windows tries, it says error.
Installed Printers Not Displayed In Devices & Printers?
Jun 29, 2009I have installed the following printers: Epson LX-300+II, HP Laserjet 1010, HP Colour Lasterjet 1515, Canon IP5200.
The printers work and are all displayed from Word, IE, etc, but only one printer shows up in Windows 7 Devices & Printers - usually whichever is selected as default printer. If I remove the displayed printer, it shows me another one. When I first installed, it showed me all the printers, but problems started after I had to remove and reinstall my printers.

May 27, 2011Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Control Panel -> Devices and Printers show some printers (PDF995 and Microsoft XPS Document Writer) but it does not show my HP OfficeJet 4500. Applications (like IE or Firebird) show it in the list of printer and can print to it.
Edit: I forgot to mention, I am running in the Administrator account and both the laptop and the printer on the same WiFi router. The printer showed up in Device Manager after I clicked Display Hidden Devices (kind of silly to hide devices from the Administrator.)

I mounted a Vista x64 ISO-image/source, extracted the folder with the canon printer drivers and installed the Colorpass Z40e driver under Windows 7 x64. In my case I used this driver für a Canon Colorpass Z400e (Canon CLC 1100).
Extraxct :
- use 7zip
- under options check "wim"
- open the install.wim an verify your vista version (important if there is a 64bit and 32 bit version on the same DVD, in my case there was only a 64bit on the systembuilder DVD)
- choose the right folder and extract the canon printer driver folder with 7zip

Jan 21, 2013I m using hp envy dv4-5205tx running windows 8(came with it when i bought the laptop)I m having trouble running games in windows 8 and prefer running windows 7..So, before doing anything, i tried to find all the drivers needed for my laptop in the official hp site, and I saw that only drivers for windows 8 available for my model since its a new model.I tried to find the drivers manually, but scared that it might be incompatible with my laptop model. But i seriously want to reformat to windows 7.

It'ts running win 7 ultimate, all h/w is detected ok apart from the integrated network card, therefore i cannot connect to the router and onto the internet. (Code 28) There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver. This is for the pci input device."
I tried updating the drivers and it says windows could not find the drivers for this device if you know the manufacturer go to there website. I tried searching for the drivers manually through the list that windows gives you but said it couldn't find them either. I have a Creative audigy 2 sound card and when I go to update the driver from the audigy 2 it says that it can't find drivers even though they are installed and the sound card is working.
Nothing indicates that they are installed except for the fact that it does show a driver date and version. I have the latest drivers. From 3 something 2012 I tried updating the drivers from creatives website but it said no hardware device could be detected on my system. Should I maybe reinstall the card? Just put it back into the same slot on my motherboard?
