How To Recover The Factory Image Of Dell Inspirion 5010 Laptop
Jun 10, 2011
i am having windows 7 64 bit operating system.Earlier i was using windows 7 32 bit operating system but when i changed my operating system it lead to formatting of the recovery drive on my laptop. Now i am not able to backup my data on my laptop.so kindly suggest a way through which i can recover the factory image of my laptop.
I have got Dell Studio 1558 Laptop. When I received my laptop, the full 480 GB was in a single drive and using device manager i splitted into 3 drives. Now, if I use Dell Restore to factory image option should it have some effect as the original c drive when shipped is currently less. Just want to know this as I will be using this feature.
Ive owned a dell studio 1558 laptop for almost 2 years now and have recently been experiencing some overheating issues, among my many solutions "new thermal paste, cleaning the inside" and a virus scan using Avast, which discovered a four digit number of corrupted files followed by their deletion and subsequent problems due to now missing some .dll files making me unable to run anything or access the internet. Ive decided I should restore the laptop to its factory settings which I believe I have done before. The problem now is that once I reach the Advance boot menu using F8, I press enter on the "repair your computer" option which is followed by a bar saying windows is loading files, lasting one second, and then windows loads up and nothing changed.
Dell inspiron 580 running Win 7, I cannot access DFIR using normal keystrokes. When I hit "repair Computer" it loops me back to same screen. Is there any other way of retrieving this program? The handbook says it is on a hidden partition on the hard drive.
For my dell 1564...i I am looking to restore it. I read previous posts. I get to "system recovery options" and tried the first 3 options for restore/ repair, but nothing..its all restore to previous point, which apparently I dont have even though I made them, and dell cds dont seem to want to load up, in safe mode, reg, hitting f12, f2, f8, ctrl f11 and so on..
I have a dell inspirion 1505. I just upgraded my Ram and my hard drive. My computer came with a 80GB hard drive, but when i tried to replace it with a new 500GB hard drive my computer still only recognizes it as a 80GB. During the windows 7 upgrade where i would normally be able to clear my new hard drive and specify my new drives it still only showed 80 GB.
i have talked to dell twice now and i get conflicting answers each time. The first person said that my computer would only support 120GB and the second said it would only support 100GB. I have a hard time believing this because my computer came with a SATA harddrive, which shouldnt limit me.. At least i thought.
Dell is not helping me at all, this is the 3rd time this has happened on the same laptop and idk what to do I cant repair it, it says

I read the many articles with relation to the above error - didn't come with a win7 disk just the drivers disk. the rebuild command didn't work any other suggestions how to restart pc?
Do I need the windows product key even though the laptop was preinstalled? Basically the product key has a few numbers and letters missing from the back of the laptop and there seem to no way to retrieve it.
Where can I find a sound driver for my Dell Inspirion 6000 with Windows 7 Ultimate? I have tried the dell website and downloaded sigmatel drivers but it still will not play any sound. What Can I do?
Recently I was attacked with malware and I had no internet security. It messed up some programs, changed the description of processes etc. I read up on how to get rid of malware and such, and I got Malwarebytes, SpyBot - search&destroy, and finally Avast! computer antivirus. After running scans with malwarebytes and Spybot, removing all the trojans and programs that were affected, I used ccleaner to clean the registry. Although I did all that, it seems like there is still something in my computer because spybot keeps scanning the same files over and over, and both Malwarebytes and Avast! keep saying that a malware threat had been stopped, while showing a URL that I never even connected to. Sometimes it even happends when internet explorer is off. what I really want to do is to restore my PC to the factory settings and start with a fresh NEW system. I'll make sure to get AVAST right away to insure security. As for backing up files, I'm afraid that the virus would somehow be in certain files and infect my computer again. Nothing really important that I'd lose. So I don't really mind so much to do a full factory reset.
i have changed my hard disk on my dell inspiron 1440 but and i have install windows 7 ultimate x64, but when i activate my windows, my laptop does not boot. its probably about my bios since i have install a new hard disk and i need to restore my factory image
I have a 452GB HDD with factory image option from dell and I just brought a new 128GB SSD. I also have a 456GB External HDD. How can I move my factory image over to my SSD so I can restore my computer if i need it later on. I have the Windows 7 CD but no driver's or anything else. What I want to do is something like this... install windows 7 from CD onto my SSD then use the Factory image and restore it back to factory settings so i get all the driver's and Utilities also also.
System info - Windows 7 Home Premium x64 8GB of RAM Core i7 @2.2ghz.
my laptop (Compaq Presario CQ61) contracted a virus that did some heavy damage. So I go into the boot up menu and decide to restore the laptop back to the factory settings, just to be on the safe side so I can start afresh. Now it's on a screen that says 'Factory image recovery preperation' and it's currently copying files to restore the hard drive, but it's froze on 58%.
Last night I did the same thing and left it overnight while I went to bed, and when I woke up this morning it was still froze on 1%.
Edit: The loading bar is still there, but the place where '58%' was has gone. My mouse is moving but very slowly.
Edit: My laptop is very warm and I can't feel or hear the fan... it's going to overheat. I've had to turn it off.
I have a Gateway computer that came preloaded with Windows 7.
I am replacing the internal hard drive and I am attempting to install the factory system recovery image from the system recovery disc that I made when I bought the computer. After installing the drive and booting up from the recovery disc, I go into full factory recovery but when I go in to the option to "restore to factory default" the option is grayed out. Do I need to format the drive first? How do I do this outside of windows?
