I plan to create a slide show to show on a large TV that will be used for instruction. I wish to make the advancement of the slides as needed depending on the length of time the audience wishes to spend on it. I would like to control the advancement of the slides with the DVD Player remote.

The Slide Show function in Explorer works great if I can control the timing.
Sometimes in Windows Vista I have a folder option to view files as a slideshow on the menu bar, Sometimes I do not have that option. I am speaking of the same folder. Under properties/customization I have selected to have them viewed as pictures and videos . I would like to have that option all the time. When I try to change it to pictures and videos and press apply it doesn't work. When I select a file there is no slide show option

Once the computer is on, this works well. But once I shut it down and reboot, the settings are lost and only one desktop background is displayed all the time. Is it supposed to work like this? I had to reinstall Windows 7 a few days ago and now no thumbnails show for my comicbook files. Pdf's show fine once I locate them with Adobe Pro. And usually when I locate them with a certain comicbook reader program they show up as thumbnails even when viewing in windows explorer. But not now

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been downloading many Videos and I watch them on WMP (I'm running Windows 7 64Bit) and I have variety of files. But for some reason files like .Mp4 would show thumbnails/an image of the video while my MKV files just show an Icon. I have installed K-Lite codec pack 5.2.0 (64Bit) to enable my WMP to watch several files. Also I have try installing the Divx preview thing (Forgot what's it called) and it does make the Mkv show the thumbnail but it lags incredibly when I play it. Is there any alternate way to make my MKV videos show thumbnails?

I had set some of rarely-used system folders in my user folder (such as "Desktop," "Searches" etc.) as hidden, and selected "Do not show hidden folders, etc." in Folder Options. These hidden folders are not shown in Windows explorer's window, but they show up on the taskbar's toolbar. Is there a way to keep them hidden on the taskbar as well?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a set of CDs that provide audio and video samples for a text book.I've copies the CDs to a hard drive but the text refers to the samples by track number and there are no more "tracks" as such. Does the standard Windows copy build the directory entries in the same order as the tracks in the original CD? If so, is there a media player that will show the directory entries in their physical order (and hopefully count them for me) rather than first performing the standard directory sorts first? I have the Windows Media Player and VLC.I don't see how to use either of them the way I need (although the WMP will at least let me access the CDs by track number).

It always hogs up massive amount of CPU power and goes into (Not Responding) for a min while updating.I only add media files to the Windows Explorer Library so I can get indexed searches. I don't even use WMP to view files or anything. Just to burn some music CDs sometimes.I've tried deleting the files from the WMP library but the next time I open it up, it scans and updates all my files again! Is there a way to completely purge the WMP library and make it not update ever? I've unchecked every option that seems to make it scan and update but it still does it.Basically I want to UNLINK the Windows Explorer Library from the WMP Library.

View 2 Replies View Relatedjust completed a first-time new Windows 7 PC build. Successful installation of Windows 7 Pro on WD 600GB 10000 system drive. Went back and installed 4 additional HDD. (2) WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM and (2) WD Caviar 7200 500GB HDD from XP system that were used for storage.
BIOS sees all HDDs, but are not viewable in Disk Management.
System Specs:
Antec Nine Hundred
ASUS P6X58D-E MOBO

However, only three are visible in Disk Management. Missing (1) WD 500GB (previously used on WinXP system) and (1) new WD 1T.
When I right-click with the Performace Setting "Fade or slide menus into view" it doesnt really "slide" into view it just displays a white box for a split second then the menu slides open into the white box. My pc is in perfect running condition so its not a performance issue or anything. Also it doesnt happen every time I right-click just like 50% of the time. And the other 50% is cuz it doesn't slide it just pops up instantly.
