I apparently have the Driver Navigator software installed. I usually do not have any manager other than what is absolutely necessary, automatically scan my system. I much prefer to manually request the scan. However, this thing popped up by itself automatically this morning after I turned my pc on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed a Canon MX860 multi-function printer and it's software package, including the app that controls the scanning function. That app, Navigator EX 2.1, won't open. It returns an error message saying the program has encountered an error (unspecified) and will let me know when Windows determines what it is. An older version of the software for an older printer worked fine.On the advice of Canon, I installed the software under a different user account and it worked fine.I've cleaned the registry of all mentions of the older program and have also run Registry Booster to correct errors. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and the software several times. Why would a program work under one user account and not another? Both were set up as administrators.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just changed laptop to one using Windows 7-64 bit. I have a Canon MP830 printer/scanner and have downloaded the latest MP Navigator software/drivers from the Canon website but when I run it I get a error "CODE : 2,155,0" unable to connect to scanner.
I have done all the usual things, changing USB cable, uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling etc. but to no avail.
I have just downloaded Vuescan as a trial and it works perfectly.
Since installing W7 I have been unable to attach a photo to an email using
my MP Navigator/Canon Pixma MP210. Using Vista it was an automatic process. A pop-up box informs me that I have to re-adjust my mail ?
I am using Windows Live Mail Beta Version and previously I was using
Windows Mail. I cannot alter my mail user without help. What I really need are click by click instructions. Can anybody help, please ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently was doing 'maintenance' on my network and during the process, decided to upgrade the firmware on my routers/APs. All went well except that my trusty old BEFSR41 didn't survive. I tried the known fixes, but no response.So, I'm asking for recommendations. I do have wireless covered with a WAP54G, but it may be time to update that as well.Features I want are good security (inbound and outbound MAC filtering, IP Range limiting, port limiting, etc.), speed and reliability. I'm not opposed to a wireless router with ethernet ports (at least 4), but I would like the ability to turn the wireless aspect off, since I don't use it that much (at the moment).I have several machines on site, connected to an 8 port gigabit switch, which was connected to the BEFSR41, which was connected to a cable modem. Netgear is not a preferred solution. At some point, I plan to connect my TV, if that is a consideration in choice. OK, I'm rambling now.

i wonder how does powerline networking works. isit simply something like an extender? or does it send data through powerlines (i think <-- this is what is done)? but powerlines are not designed to send data so maybe it wont work well on all homes? maybe it wont be reliable? isit v slow also?

After reading so many posting on the ServenForums I kind of layout these are the best 3 antivirus software, they are AVG Free Edition , Avast and Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE).
I had serious nightmare using AVG Free Edition on my Windows 7 x64, which constantly causing program or opening up file not responding. I honestly do not think I will go back on AVG again (Also, it takes too much memory on real time protection as well as scanning threads).
I would like to hear from everyone to see which one of the above anti-virus program is best in terms of Security Protection, Compatibilities to Windows 7 and performance.
What would everyone recommended the most ?
I have been having bad luck with hard drives lately. The original WD drive in my Windows 7 i7 PC died about a month ago as a result of a brief power failure in my area. My local shop installed another WD (500TB) unit which seemed to have issues from the start (failed the WDC test utilities).So I wanted to pulse the community to see what the current story is on HD's and reliability. I have read a number of posts about quality problems with WDC but I used to see lots of posts about problems with Seagate.So what to do? Which brand or model should I be looking at to get a decent drive that won't die in a few months? This is simply for a home office desktop running Office 2010 apps and typical web browsing. I'd spend a little extra for higher reliability. Screaming performance is not really an issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay so, my laptop's system is unable to boot, so I just tried to format it since I have to do that for a very long time, and when it asked me in which partition I want to install windows there was nothing, although when I clicked "Load Driver" I could access the hard disk's files, the hard disk IS listed in the bios normally but windows does not recognize it, I tried using Kaspersky Rescue disk(the only CD I had along with the recovery disk)and when I used the File Manager, the hard disk still didn't show, are there any drivers I have to install?I have burned both fujitsu9that's my laptop) and Seagate's websites and can't find anything, I have searched forums but the only answers were "check if your hd is listen in bios".So, i IS listed in bios but I can't reinstall windows nor access it

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433 with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) p6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB 1.3 cache). This only happens to me while I am playing The Sims 3. I have the game set on the lowest quality settings, even though my laptop "claims" to be HD LED, etc. This issue still happens. As you may know I cannot replace the graphics card as it is apart of the motherboard, and to buy a new motherboard with a better graphics card would cost more than a new computer. I have been the my manufacture's website and tried installing an update of the graphics card, and that didn't do the trick either. I am at my wits end, and I just want to play the game without it shutting down and freezing my computer. The reason I know the error is because I do Alt + Tab to get back to the desktop. The way it acts up while I am in game is the screen blacks out but I can still see the software's mouse, and then it blinks a couple times and then freezes completely?
