Sometimes I either get kernelbase.dll crash or ntdll.dll crash. (APPCRASH) Sometimes suddenly explorer.exe crash, followed by ETDCtrl.exe (Touchpad process).Does download and replacing kernelbase.dll solve the problem? What kind of application are usually having conflict with them?

I have also done sfc/scannow system file checking but it says the system does not have any integrity problems.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOur office has an old program that we still need to use when upgrading our PC's to Windows 7. The program will run fine if you start a windows virtual PC and install and run it. However, based on the needs of our office, I need to be able to run Windows XP mode and simply have an icon for our users to click to take them to the application.If I install the program in windows XP mode, and then add a shortcut to the file under all users/start menu, a shortcut is placed in the appropriate place on the windows 7 machine and I can copy that shortcut ot the desktop. The program runs fine until you restart the computer. Once you restart the computer and double click the link on the windows 7 desktop to the program running in windows XP mode, it says:
Cannot start virtual application. The application is blocked from running as a virtual application.
I read some other posts saying to put a new shortcut in the all users/start menu folder. This works, but only until our users restart their computer. The next time the computer is up, the problem happens again. This is not an acceptable solution to have to create a new shortcut for each workstation each time the computer is restarted.
The error states:explorer.exe - application error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application.When I click OK, i just have a black screen. I can get the task manager going by hitting control, alt, delete. I've tried to start explorer.exe from the file menu, but get the same error.

I am deathly afraid to turn off my computer because my brother recently did and that caused it to freeze at the blue HP startup screen, but thats another thread. I get this error whenever I launch anything. I can't even open up the task manager. I really need help. I don't currently have a way to back up my stuff either but I am working on it. By the way, I don't know that my brother was having the same error message as i was or if he was having any error messages. I use zone alarm full security suite if that helps at all, I don't know if it deleted a registry file or something.

I don't what happened but all of a sudden a message box opens up on my windows 7 laptop and it says this " the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application" . I clicked ok but the error message box keeps returning back.If i remember properly, this happened when I tried installing some wallpaper.system seems to be working finw with all applications, but this message box is quite annoying.

I am trying to repair a 1.5 year-old HP Pavilion running Windows 7 Home Premium 64. This machine is used as the main office computer in a small doctor's office. In spite of my warnings, anti-virus software was not installed until it was too lateThere was a major issue about seven months ago that required another company to repairThe problem is explorer.exe will not run. Double-clicking a shortcut on the desktop, clicking the text name of a program from the Start menu, and even in the cmd results in the same response, a dialog box pops up stating windows explorer has stopped working.
windows is checking for a solution to the problem. followed by another box stating windows explorer is restarting. But the requested application never starts. I have run the Ultimate Boot CD 4 Win, replaced the hard drive and cloned all data, run numerous registry scans, malware scans and antivirus scans. Initially removing over 1500 virus/malware hits and over 1400 registry errors. But the main problem persists, explorer.exe won't open programs.

Ive looked through all the options in the application and there is not one to make it not be on top of all other windows. I have also asked the maker of such software and they have said that there is no way to not make it ontop. does anyone know a way to make another application come ontop of this one or a way to get it to where I can use the other application? the application Im using is a medical application and the manufacturer is not helping at all. the application I want to use isnt harmfull and it is job specific.

Generally I never do task/application switching using windows but I recently installed a wacom pen tablet and one of the shortcut keys on the tablet was programmed to switch to various applications... BUT IT DID IT IN A WAY I HAVE NOT FOUND IN Windows 7 YET!
Usually Alt+Tab gives you the generic windows task switcher that shows all the icons of the various apps you have open.
But the pen tablet used an app switcher that did this..

I tried rebooting from a bootable disk and from a bootable flash drive and neither one worked. My machine is an HP Pavilion Elite HPE-110f. I am running on the 64 bit version. Now, after it has completelly booted and I've opened some applications (for example Eclipse, Windows updates or even no applications) it appears the BSOD with the page_fault_in_nonpaged_area STOP: 0x00000050 and other information. I've managed to get the minidump and to do a "photo" of the BSOD with my cell. I'm attaching the minidump, but if someone need it I can put also the photo.I've not added any new hardware for over a year and I've not installed any significant and heavy software in the last couple of months, so I do not know what can it be. To be sure I've also done the memtest86 an it did not found any error.
