If i have a 32-bit video player, on 64-bit OS,

how do I open movie files that are created by iMovie on Apple when importing from a Hard Disk-Drive HD Camera?Only the audio would play. The video is black with an error that tells me that it cannot play icod and there is no way for me to fix this <-- what??To convert simply renders huge files and slow playback. So where can I get the codec for it?I am running Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows Vista Home Premium?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOur office has an old program that we still need to use when upgrading our PC's to Windows 7. The program will run fine if you start a windows virtual PC and install and run it. However, based on the needs of our office, I need to be able to run Windows XP mode and simply have an icon for our users to click to take them to the application. If I install the program in windows XP mode, and then add a shortcut to the file under all users/start menu, a shortcut is placed in the appropriate place on the windows 7 machine and I can copy that shortcut ot the desktop. The program runs fine until you restart the computer. Once you restart the computer and double click the link on the windows 7 desktop to the program running in windows XP mode, it says:
Cannot start virtual application. The application is blocked from running as a virtual application.
I read some other posts saying to put a new shortcut in the all users/start menu folder. This works, but only until our users restart their computer. The next time the computer is up, the problem happens again. This is not an acceptable solution to have to create a new shortcut for each workstation each time the computer is restarted.
The error states:explorer.exe - application error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application. When I click OK, i just have a black screen. I can get the task manager going by hitting control, alt, delete. I've tried to start explorer.exe from the file menu, but get the same error.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142) Click on OK to terminate the application. The only option is to click ok. I am deathly afraid to turn off my computer because my brother recently did and that caused it to freeze at the blue HP startup screen, but thats another thread. I get this error whenever I launch anything. I can't even open up the task manager. I really need help. I don't currently have a way to back up my stuff either but I am working on it. By the way, I don't know that my brother was having the same error message as i was or if he was having any error messages. I use zone alarm full security suite if that helps at all, I don't know if it deleted a registry file or something.

uxtheme.dll

I don't what happened but all of a sudden a message box opens up on my windows 7 laptop and it says this " the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application" . I clicked ok but the error message box keeps returning back.If i remember properly, this happened when I tried installing some wallpaper.system seems to be working finw with all applications, but this message box is quite annoying.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering if it is possible to reverse engineer a 32-bit application and recompile it as a 64-bit application. If so, would it still function?I don't know if talking about reverse engineering is acceptable in this forum or not. If not, my apologies. Also, I don't exactly know how "legal" it is or if it's against any EULAs.I'm a heavy browser user. I use Firefox Nightly and constantly have several tabs open. I also run several different applications at once and occasionally Skype. I'm CONSTANTLY hitting the 32-bit barrier for RAM (can't remember if it's 3.1, 3.2 or 3.3 GB) and I still have more RAM on my system. I'm thinking the video quality on Skype starts going south when I run low/out on addressable memory since it's a 32-bit application

I installed Windows 7 ultimate and since I have the forbidden red x over my speaker in the toolbar. I click on it and I get the no audio output installed. If I go to device manager my sound card show up fine. I thought I would try to update the driver to see if that would fix it.
Everytime I try to update it searches and finds audio software but when it begins to download an error pops up saying something to the effect of " hardware is not connected to the computer" or something like that. How do I fix this issue and get my sound back??
Ok so this sort of confuses me here. After a fresh install of windows 7 I am able to play mp3s for a while.. When in a explorer window of a music folder i chose the built in button to play all. After I hit this button only one song came up on my playlist. After trying to choose a different song i am unable to play any mp3s It says that the player might not support this filetype or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. These are standard MP3's that were ripped in WMP11 on my vista machine.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall wmp but this has not resolved the issue. I have also dugg in my google resources and read something about a registry error. this instructed me to typw in a command line run as an administrator "regsvr32 wmp.dll"
I have run out of options and I do not want to do a full reinstall as that is the step that i seem to notice everyone else doing.
I have seen alot about no support for mkv in wmp and wmc on these and other Windows 7 threads/boards. I've seen solutions ranging from adding a complicated divx7(not a free codec) tool with necessary support, adding various codec packs, some crazy scripts and regedits with powershell, cmd etc. that can be disastrous with the slightest mistake.
First, if you want to find out the hard way that codec packs can be dangerous, install one. Some are probably better than others, maybe some even won't screw up your system?
But a prominent codec pack-(touted on these boards)- I tried-back when I was a newbie at multi-media playback-caused major system problems. At first it worked great! Then.......Wierd random icons started showing up for un-related programs, web pages, etc., various formats stopped working, program defaults changed by themselves-had to do a clean disk wipe and os install to correct it! Most claim to be minimalist but the point is, they can essentially take-over a system and cause major instability, freezes, etc. Maybe they work for you? Not judging, just suggesting.
Any recommendation for codec for Win 7 64 bit. Must be able to use in Windows Media Center.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust installed 7 Professional (had been using vista home premium) but i'm running into what i'm guessing is a codec problem.
It manifests it self with 1 dvd in particular that stutters at the same spot every time when playing through Media center or Media Player (x86 and x64). However, when I play the DVD with Powerdvd, it plays flawlessly. I've tried removing the dts/dvd codec (turning if off rather, following this post exactly: Windows 7 Media Center (7MC) Codec Configuration Bible - v. 1.9 - The Green Button)
alas, nothing I do can get the blasted thing to play in 7MC! I've also tried reformatting the HD, and simply installing the shark007 codec pack, having ffdshow run everything. Nada. Is there some other trick to getting another codec (such as powerdvd's) to take control of the dvd playback in 7mc or am I stuck with this?
im needing to install k-lite codec pack in order to play most files. im not sure which one to install, i have an old thread on vista forums but was reluctant to follow them instructions now that im running 7 and 64 bit versus vista 32, is there a diff? sorry will post new specs now that i am a new member to 7 forums.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi'm having issues with the realtek HD audio drivers. i just installed the latest version (2.24 i think) and i have no sound. note, i did not have a prior working version under windows 7 - i just installed windows 7 RC today for the first time.
one possible issue is that it appears to be using the wrong codec - i believe that i need the ALC882 codec, but in windows 7, it appears to have installed the ALC885 codec.
anyone know how to change the codec?
Facing a weird problem for a long time (3 months or more but got chance to google it today). Its a dell studio 1555 with IDT High Definition Audio Codec with windows 7 x64 Ultimate OS. I had to give a clean OS after a fatal crash and sound is giving a weird problem from then. No sound through my speaker;only through headphones. If I remove headphone then IDT setup options pop ups and I cant' work until headphone is there.... Downloaded the latest driver from dell's recommended site and still not good...tried to uninstall and restricting the auto installation by windows from "gpedit.msc" and manual installation through the latest driver..yet nothing happened..
