May 13, 2012I am having an issue with all of my pictures in Windows 7. They do not appear as pictures, but icons. I have adjusted the slider on the right side but it only changes the size, not the actual content.

May 12, 2011I have a Dell Inspiron with Intel Core I5. After Microsoft installed some updates, all the program and file shortcuts changes to a little square with dots. The same thing happens with shortcuts pinned to the taskbar. How can I get the pictures back? The computer ran a system back-up after this happened, but the desktop was already changed. If I restore the original system back-up from the disk will I lose the information I have added to the computer since then?

So I found a cool theme and icons to go with it. I understand how to change icons and such but I am having trouble with some. (the official Microsoft icons)
Here's my situation.
So I found in the tutorials how to change the icons. I was able to change the libraries icon assuming that when had it on the taskbar, it would change the icon as well.
I was able to change the libraries icon to what I want. I created a library shortcut. then when i pinned it to the taskbar, it changed back to the default, but only on the taskbar
Also, when i try to change the wmplayer.exe and explorer.exe icon through the properties, explorer.exe crashes as soon as I apply.

Change A Lot Of Icons With A Batch File?
Nov 24, 2012I've got this folder. In this folder are 643 sub-folders. I want to change the icon of all of those folders quickly, because doing it manually would be horrible.
Each folder has to have it's own icon. Not all the same one.
Currently the .ico's are in a folder with all the exact same name as the folders they need to be matched with. (if I sort by name, they'll all be in the exact same order, if that helps anything)
example: Mainfolder/A/ needs to have icon "A.ico"
So I've been kinda searching around and it seems things like this can (or not) be done with a batch file, and the desktop.ini. Or something..

Nov 28, 2009I can gather from the Icon packs I've downloaded from Mr. Grim that certain dll's need to be edited, probably with Res hacker. Can some one confirm that if I wanna be able to use my own icons, I just need to run restorator on those dlls and change the icons that Mr.Grim changes? If this is the case, is there a tutorial which lists the icons in those dll's?

Jun 17, 2010This little thing has been annoying me since Win 7 came out and finally figured I'd ask if there is some hack to change it.On my task bar I have the following icons...Internet explorer | Windows Explorer | Windows Media Player | Google Chrome | Paintshop Pro x2When none of these programs are in the open state everything is fine, however when I open up Internet Explorer, it changes the normal small icon into the full blown Internet Explorer taskbar icon right in it's place, which means my task bar will often look like a bunch of long I.E. taskbar open icons, then the small icons for Windows explorer, mediaplayer, chrome and psp, followed by a bunch of other program icons that are open programs.This looks sloppy and non intuitive to me.What I would like to do is to keep all the small icons (like they were in quickbar) on the left, and any open programs to open as new full size icons on the right of all the small icons. So that I don't have a bunch of larger open program icons, followed by all the closed small icons, followed by any other open program icons.

May 23, 2011I imported my photos from my SDCard to my PC using Picasa 3, and everything was going smoothly... until I tried to take a look at the photos! all of the photos that I've imported using this method for some reason all became greyed out! Viewing them on Picasa3, all you can see is a grey rectangle, in place of the photos. However, when using the windows explorer folder, i can see that the photos were imported correctly (it's not just a grey box, but the actual photos), but when I try to open it (using any program: Paint, Picasa3, etc), it is still a grey rectangle instead of the photos. I tried to upload the image and send it via email, and I get the same result.In my mistake, I chose to "delete the uploaded photos after uploading" option..it's my vacation photos from Croatia I'm not sure if there were any errors when I imported it... i stepped out for a bit while I was waiting for it to import. I looked around my SD card, and looked at the "Lost.dir" folder, and copied all of what's in there.I did use Glarysoft to recover the images, and I'm using a Windows 7 laptop as my computer. Also, are there other alternatives? I did save the lost.dir with all of the photo files in it, both in my SD Card, and on my laptop.
