Despite being able to connect to a Homegroup containing two wired desktops, a router, and a wireless printer, using it's LAN connection, I can't get the laptop to see the Homegroup just using wifi. The laptop can still access the internet and printer, but no homegroup. If I plug in the LAN cable I can see and automatically join the Homegroup. If I then remove the LAN cable, the wifi then connects to the Homegroup. If I start the Laptop on wifi only. It can't even see the Homegroup.
I have 4 laptops, LT01, LT02, LT03, and LT04 running Windows 7 64 bit. All 4 laptops are visible (and inter-operable) with standard network. However, 1 laptop, LT02, is not visible in HomeGroup on LT01, LT03, LT04.
Whereas LT01, LT03, LT04 are visible in HomeGroup on LT2. Granted its not a real show-stopper for me but it is very irritating. Done all the obvious thinks like setting up HomeGroup on LT02 and then joining the common HomeGroup.
I have a new laptop w7 and a pc in another room w7.have set up homegroup and all seems fine untill i tell pc to print,i get a messageoc has been sent to printer then comm error
I installed Windows 7 on my laptop, and I also have a desktop running Windows 7. I am trying to connect my laptop to my homegroup with the password for my homegroup, but my desktop will not reveal it. Is there any other place that I can find it?
I have a homegroup set up with a desktop and a latop, 2 printers which are physically connected to the desktop. When i open homegroup to see what devices are connected the 2 pc`s and the 2 printers show up but when i go to print something through the homegroup from the laptop only 1 printer shows up to print from even though both printers show up in the homegroup?
I personally hate the Homegroup. I would like to remove my laptop from it and was wondering if I do so will I be able to hook my computer up to my laptop?
I have an issue which I can't find anything obvious on.I have 4 Windows 7 machines, 1 x W7 Pro, 2 x W7 Home Premium & 1 x W7 Starter all in the same Homegroup. The W7 Pro machine can see all the others under Homegroup in Windows ExplorerAll 3 of the others can see each other in the same way but the W7 Pro machine isn't listedThe 3 others can access the Shares on the W7 Pro Machine by going to Network rather than Homegroup in Windows Explorer.
I just recently bought an Acer Aspire 5250 fro rent a center and for a while I was able to connect to Wifi, but I can't anymore. i have barely downloaded anything or installed anything, so that can't be it, I've googled this problem and everything, i disabled the wireless adapter and re-enabled it and nothing happened. Any clue what DID happen? I'm currently connected to the internet with my Wireless card from my cell phone company.
i have a laptop and a desktop my printer is plug into my desktop and it shared over the network. can i print in my laptop even the desktop is off but my router is on.
because everytime i will print to the laptop i will open the desktop.
i bought a 2007 model hp nc6220 with windows 7. I have been unable to turn on my wifi. I've tried everything. nothing works. The wifi button, fn and f2 buttons, nothing. No lights, no nothing. My wireless connection to my printer works. Can't connect to my router.
Don't know what happened, wifi was always on -- my lan went off, so I put on, my hot spot on my cell phone, and noticed my wifi has an orange light, and messages say my wifi is off. I cannot get it to turn back on.
Every one else is using a WiFi in my home except me.I don't know why.Whenever I'm trying to connect,I'm getting message,Windows was unable to connect.
I have checked in Network adapters option,My device is working properly. I was able to use if a day before or so but not now. I have to use Ethernet cable to use Internet now.

As title says, my wifi works fine on my laptop but won't work on my computer. This hasn't been an issue previously but I moved house and now can't get on. I've tried two different dongles, changing the channel my router goes on and a new router. The computer connects and says it has internet access but then whenever I try and load a webpage it just keeps loading and never actually brings up the page. Also tried a few ipconfig (flushdns, release and renew) through cmd as I was instructed to by a friend - but now can't think of anything else. Also, it has three out of 5 bars of strength but sometimes when I switch the computer on it doesn't even detect the network at all.
I have a home network that has been set up on a modem with internal router for ethernet ports and wifi. When computers connected to the modem via ethernet cables, they can easily discover each other through the 'network' icon. But when I connect my laptop to the network's wifi, only the desktop computer can see the laptop in 'network' and not the other way. The laptop can't see any computers. When I tried to connect/open the laptop through the computer, error code 0x80070035 network path not found came up.I tried pinging the computers (both with ip address and name), and heres what happened:-when I ping desktop to laptop, it didn't work-when I ping laptop to desktop, there was response. Then the desktop showed up on the laptop's 'network', and I can view/transfer shared files. desktop can also connect/open the laptop's shared files. Pinging from desktop to laptop also works.I've checked things like firewall, make computer discoverable in network, services. They all make no difference to the situation. Where unless if I ping the desktop from my laptop, the desktop won't show up and file sharing won't work.
When I'm next to the room where the router is, the WiFi connection sometimes just drops. I'd say that I can surf something like 2-3 minutes and then all of sudden the WiFi connection drops, and the WiFi tray icon says that I have a limited connection. Though the signal quality is 4, and sometimes even 5 (which is maximum). And then it takes like 15-20 seconds to get everything back to normal again. But then again.. when I was in the same room as my router, actually on the same desk as the router, I didn't have any problems with WiFi dropping - I think I'll test later tonight again, if there's really a difference if I sit basically next to the router and then when I go to the other room, the connection starts dropping every once in a while (and remember, I still have an excellent signal quality). And I'll add just in case that I haven't had any problems with wired connection. And in our household we've got one laptop more, and this one hasn't had any problems with WiFi dropping. So.. it must be something with my laptop.. I guess.
- Anti-virus: McAfee Internet Security | Can't tell you the exact version, because it has different versions for different things. For example SecurityCenter has v11.0 and VirusScan has v15.0. Just to add that I've heard that some people have had problems with WiFi, and it has been anti-virus' fault. Well.. I'm not planning to keep McAfee, I'll get rid of it soon. But I think it might help if I mention the anti-virus program too.
1st, sorry for my English, I'm french and I'm not really good in IT.I have an ASUS with an Athros Wireless R9285.Since the last update, I can't connect in wifi anymore (but it's ok with the cable, and ok with my other computer).I first though it was the on/off wifi button, or the Fn/F2 command, but no. Then, I tried to connect/unconnect the card, change the power specification, try all the anti viruses I've got and make a "restauration" at a date before the update and so the issue.
I'm running a Windows7 Home Premium 32bit on a desktop and want to share its drives with the network. The desktop is LAN connected to the Wifi router and has no issues. If I LAN connect to the router with a laptop, I can access the desktop shared drives but I want to be able to access them via Wifi on a laptop. The Laptops have no problems accessing internet through wifi but will not see the shared drives on the LAN via Wifi and I have to plug in to the LAN.I thought I'd cracked it as Kaspersky had the home wifi network down as public and I did have access via wifi for a short time, but it soon disappeared.
When it comes to network connections on my laptop. I was wondering if it is possible to connect to two different wireless networks, on using the wireless network connection and the other using the wireless network connection 2.
But I encounter a problem while connecting to the host (My desktop)
It's like, you can't connect after you reset your connection or something, and it says "No Internet Access", and you can only connect just when your PC were freshly restart. IF you hand slipped and clicked the disconnect, you cannot connect just after you restart the PC again.
