Home Premium Clean Install Without Viao Bloat

Jul 16, 2010

I have just bought myself a new sony vaio laptop and im applauded at the amount of pre-installed bloat (30+ pieces of useless software).

1. is there any way i can use the recovery partition and bypass the bloat installing?

2. if i get hold of a dodgy copy of home premium OEM can I use that with my serial number to preform a clean install (leaving the recovery partition)? missing drivers etc is no problem.

I already know that I need to reinstall windows 7 again, but I have 2 issues. First one is I have windows7 ultimate, and if i buy windows7 home premium will I be able to do a clean install? Second question is will the install even work on my hard disk drive? I dont want to buy it and not have it load or work properly.

Clean Install Of Windows 7 Home Premium

Dec 6, 2012

I am in need of a clean install of my OS, no need for any data presently on my laptop. So here is my question, where can I get a Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating System disc to use on my system that is free and can also work with my License key [which by the way is the original key that came with the laptop].Now I know that dell [which is the manufacturer of my laptop, I think it is called an OEM key] has downloadable .ISO of the OS I am in need of but I need to know if I can use that on my system with my license key and work: [code] url...

Clean Install Of Win 7 Home Premium Using Upgrade Version

My question is can I do a clean install of Windows 7 home premium using the upgrade version?

I heard that you have to validate your old OS by inserting the vista dvd I have a vista re installation DVD that was provided to me by Dell when I bought this PC.Is this information correct and would the vista dvd I have work? or would it have to be a vista DVD I bought (not from dell).

Factory OEM Clean Install Of Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit?

Sep 29, 2012

I downloaded the correct .iso file from the Digital River list and have since burned a new DVD using imgburn set at 4x for an excellent copy. At this point I'm not sure if I must first reset the BIOS boot order in Setup or if just having the DVD in the drive will prompt me to press any key to continue. FWIW, I'm using a Liteon DVD-ROM drive Model eTDU108.

Clean Installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit From Vista Home Premium 64bit?

Feb 28, 2010

I got windows 7 ultimate 32bit free from my school, and decided that I wanted to clean install, and not upgrade it. I transferred all my files off, booted the laptop up with the windows 7 disk, and proceeded to clean install. I didn't have the drivers cd for my laptop, but I just wiped my drive and installed 7 anyway. Now I have windows 7 ultimate 32bit, and can only use 3 of my 4 gigabytes of memory.. The thing I don't really understand is the whole upgrading option, and like, I know that it's a windows 7 32bit dvd, but it doesn't seem right to go from 64bit to 32bit. So is there anyway I can make it 64bit without having to buy a new dvd? And if not, how much am I missing out on, with not having 64bit, especially with having 4 gigabytes of ram?

Clean Install Of Windows 7 Premium 64 Bit?

Sep 23, 2012

I bought a rather high end PC from CyberPower PC, Hard drive had problems a few months after I started using it so I sent it in for a new one. New one is not preloaded with OS, so I am attempting to install from the OS disk I got when I bought the PC.

Hardware:

Gigabyte Mother Board, GA-Z77-D3H (Is the name I found on the mb itself)
1TB Toshiba Hard Drive
(Anything else I'll have to look at when my pc is off)

I have been fooling around, probably causing more problems, for 2 days now trying to get the OS install to work.I could not install OS on Hard Drive, got error message after selecting hard disk. (Error: 0x80300002)Switched the BIOS options to default optimal settings Reran the OS installation, the installation ran very slowly and gave me an error message after I selected the Hard Drive to install windows 7 on. (Error: 0x8007045d)Found that some had success after changing hard drive setting from IDE to AHCI, after I did so the installer ran much more smoothly. However when I got to the drive select screen my hard drive was not listed or detected. (Browsing it was called Removable disk C and could not be selected)Checked BIOS to see if it was detected, it was.Reran under AHCI mode, still undetected in disk select. Online help suggested to run a diskpart in command prompt. Hard drive was not shown in that either. Changed mode back to IDE, ran OS installer, waited very long time for it to load.Computer only loads for about a second for about every minute. INCREDIBLY SLOW. This is the case whether I'm waiting on the installer or running command prompt diskpart.

Update: Running in IDE, ran a diskpart, Detects hard drive,
Info I obtained;
Disk type: ATA
Satus: Online
Path: 0

[code]....

Tried to run a clean command, failed due to I/O error. took 30+ minutes aswell Update: Booted up and ran os with AHCI setting on. Got to disk drive, still no hard drive. Started fumbling around in Diskpart in command prompt, can get the hard drive to appear as disk 4 after rescanning. any attempts to manipulate it (i.e create partition or clean of partition) results in error and the disk vanishes until I rescan.

I am having a problem. The OS(Windows 7 x64) finishes installing but when it finishes it boots up again like normal then flashes a quick blue screen error message. I have tried doing what the comments told you to do except for downloading the ISO and burning it to a disk. I just get the same error. I have researched this processor and it turns out it has been known to be VERY dodgy with Windows 7 64-bit.

Possible To Install A 32 Bit Windows 7 Pro Upgrade On Home Premium 64 Bit

Jun 11, 2011

can we install the 32 bit version from the Professional upgrade in place of the 64 bit Home Premium with comes preinstalled? I would do this from the very beginning, so we wouldn't have installed any of our software yet, I don't think there is any bloatware form Dell that we will want. I will make the recovery copies of the 64 bit OS first, and then hopefully upgrade to the 32 bit Professional. Things are "tight", and hopefully will not have to purchase a full version of Professional.

Install Win 7 RC As Home Premium And Upgrade To Retail

is it in any way possible to:

1) install windows 7 RC as the home premium version (not ultimate). i heard you can edit some file to allow this.

2) when the retail version of windows 7 home premium upgrade comes out, use that to upgrade my RC installation AND KEEP MY INSTALLED PROGRAMS?

i heard you can do a custom install which makes a windows.old folder. i am looking to NOT do that.

Install Home Premium On Laptop And Professional On Pc

Dec 28, 2009

I have a little while ago build up my pc,

and bought a new system development package of win. vista home premium 64 bit.

with in my foresight i had the new 7 totally for free.

Then i got my win 7 home premium, formatted my system and installed the upgrade just fine as a clean installation.

But in home premium are some features you have in the ultimate or professional version disabled, and some of these features i just want to use.

now i do the education on school for IT, and my school has given me a msdnaa account.

Now on that msndnaa account where i can download windows 7 professional.

My question is:

Now i want to install the home premium on my laptop, and the on my pc

can i install the home premium which is of course already activated on my pc, can i install it on my laptop. i don't need a explanation of how i install a os, cause i already know such things.
