I just bought an HP desktop p6214y and am having trouble getting onto my wi-fi. The mobile home park we are in has a wi-fi system with repeater cables throughout the park. I use a yagi antenna to get my signal to my old computer. Now my new computer will not recognize this and I can't get online. What do I need to do to solve this problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been experiencing this problem over a year ago.When I changed home last year, I wasn't able to connect my desktop to the router through cable, so I acquired a Wireless Adapter SMC EZ Connect G USB. It worked, but the connection was too slow. I couldn't play, I couldn't download anything (5kb/s average speed) even with good signal. I tried that adapter on my laptop, HP 6840ep with Windows 7 x64 aswell and the adapter worked perfectly. A error "Code 10 (This device cannot start)" apeared and can't even update or install drivers now. I tried all PCI slots, I tried all USB ports, but nothing.

It shows that it's connected to my home wireless network, but cannot acces the Internet. All our other computers (desktops, laptops & iPad - all running different OS) are able to connect.
I checked the network card, using the Windows Device Manager, and it shows that it is "working properly" and that there are no conflicting devices. What should I do next?
My Desktop is connected to a NetGear Router and is on a DLS line to internet. My wireless laptop picks up signal ok and goes online, it also "sees" desktop name, but I can't connect to it for file and printer sharing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a sabrent wireless desktop card that was a major problem after upgrading to Windows 7. It would some a fe wminutes and then do nothing for the next 12 hours. SOmetime it would should the connection is all good, at at times it would say DNS server is not responding.
I used the latest RALINK drivers from their website that said it was for Windows 7. Called Sabrent and RALINK like 10 times, left voicemails and notes for tech support, they never EVER called me back.
Since I had this Belkin wireles routre at home which has been doing pretty good, I decided to buy a belkin wireless card too. I landed up buying the Belkin F5D8001 N1 Desktop Wireless card.
Guess what? it comes with a XP CD. Their site has a newer version for Visa 32/64 bit as well. How ever the XP software does not get installed from the CD. If I point to the drivers folder on the CD it does not work too.
When I try installing the new execuctable on their website (vista 32/64 bit) it says the version could not be determined. I tried the compatibility mode for every damn possible version XP, Win 2000, Vista SP1 , SP2...no luck...its the same message.
Belkin says they don't know when the windows 7 driver will be out.
The seller refused to buy the card back!
Any hopes left?
I tried to type a pound symbol(£), so I pressed shift+3, and got a hash instead of £.
All letter keys work perfectly, as far as I can see, it is only the 2 and 3 keys which dont work.
2 gives me the @ symbol, whilst pressing the @ key gives me ".
3 gives me #, whilst pressing that key gives me , shift pressing the # key gives me |.
What has just happened?
The keyboard is part of a keyboard/mouse set, the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 700 v2, and I am running Win 7 Home Premium x64.
I need help to undertand if is possibile resolve this possible issue.I have an ACER Revo 3610r,Atom 530 processor, I'm using it with a wireless Enermax Aurora micro keyboard (with trackball included).I would use RDP from my work pc Unfortunately after I've taken the control from my work pc I'm not able to use the wireless keyboard on the host (Acer revo ) so I've to restart with the shutdown /R command.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop and stuck windows 7 RTM 32 bit on it. All was well but now connecting wirelessly is slow. Like slower then 56k modem slow. I have a Dell 802.11n wireless mini card installed that works PERFECTLY under windows XP. I was getting 80 % signal strength under Win 7 and getting 1 mbps where as in XP I was getting 78 to 100 mbps with the same signal strength. Oh and ethernet works perfectly fine.
For a time I was able to download the corresponding vista driver from dell and then replace the driver that win 7 automatically installs for it, then flipped the card switch off and on and it would work like it should for a while, but then reverted to the same slow network speeds once the laptop was reset or turned off and on. Now flipping the switch or re-installing doesn't work either. I've tried resetting the router, no go and none of my other computers or products have a problem with it. I've tried doing a few things suggested in other posts, like assigning a static ip, disabling ipv6, etc... Nothing has worked.
I'd love someone who knows what it may be or has heard of this precise problem, although I think I may be stuck waiting until Win 7 makes it debut in Oct and until Dell releases a proper 7 driver for it.
