View 2 Replies View RelatedMy HP 1510 printer works fine with Windows 7-64 via the drivers that were downloaded on Windows Update. My problem is that I like the HP Solution Center for scanning, but the install disc would not even load. That is, I get an error that says the software (HP SC) is not compatible with the operating system. Anybody know of a way to allow the software to be installed? If not, is there a good scanning software that works with 64 bit?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new laptop and installed the printer drivers for my HP 7310xi all-in-one printer. The printer works fine. I have it on a wireless network. When I click on HP Solution Center, it says "HP Solution Center cannot run because the set-up was not complete. Re-run the set-up program from the installation CD for a network installation." What concerns me is the fact that other people are having problems with the HP Solution Center and Windows 7. I tried to find a download for the HP Solution Center that works for Windows 7.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded HP Solution Center and followed directions to the "T".Unplugged ethernet cable etc. During the install it recognizes my printer a 7410 but when doing final install it pops up a large red X. When trying to open the Solution Center I get an error message."It can not run because yor device installation is not complete" Then tells you to unplugged the printer and re-install. Have done that several times.Have it connected with an ethernet cable via the router. Even tried to connect direct.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I start up, I get a message from the Windows Installer stating that it is configuring the Solution Center. Then it says that it can't find the information needed because it is on a disc that came with the computer. It says to find the disc that has solution center on it and insert it. Why am I getting this? I've had my computer for 7 months now. I got 2 discs with the computer. One disc says: Drivers and Utilities Already Installed On Your Computer (Contents: Device drivers, Diagnostics and utilities). The other disc says: Drivers and Documentation (Contents: Device drivers, Setup Guide, User's Guide). Would either of those be what they're referring?

View 3 Replies View RelatedEarlier today I uninstalled a small utility off of the system disc ("C" ) and immediately my Windows 7 system would no longer recognize my other two internal HDD's. Upon a restart, Windows again sees that there are drives there but has issues. At first I thought none of the programs would run, but upon starting Starcraft 2, I watched the sc2.exe file in take manager tick up the megs resident in memory. It took about 7 minutes before reaching 100 megs in memory then the screen went black as if the game was about to start up. At this point I'm watching on my second monitor (w/ task manager) the program loaded a full 125megs before slowing down.
I was never able to get it to start up and it does this every time. The same is true for any other program installed on that drive. I can browse it just fine and everything is where it should be -- I've tried running the .exe from the directory itself with the same result.I'm no Guru, but I'm fairly good with computers and have never seen anything even remotely close to this. I don't know if the uninstall is related, but it seems likely as it was right as that finished.
Asus VE228T that I use as the main display on my left (and my laptop screen works as the secondary screen on the right). The resolution is 1920 x 1080, wasn't displaying anything and I went to the Screen Resolution properties and tried doing what I've always done if the screen hasn't been on, choosing "extend these displays", didn't work right as the laptop screen remained as the main one (usually the Asus has switched as the main display by itself) and the Asus did turn on BUT with my laptop's resolution.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe network is connected and working fine (well not fine, but will get there).Bat the Network and Sharing Center is not recognizing that it is connected or that there even is a NIC installed.I can surf the net and connect to other computers, but, any program that depends on the information from that specific component Seams to not be able to connect (IE Logmein) and also I'm unable to configure my network as a "work network" so I had to remove the windows firewall so I will be able to connect 2 my SQL server and network shares from other computers on the company's network.Solutions I have already tried:1.Reinstall NIC driver from gigabyte website.2.Install Realtek Ethernet Diagnostic Utility3.Installed FixItCenter from Microsoft.4.Netsh winsock reset (As admin)[CODE]
View 3 Replies View RelatedOne day my main desktop stopped recognizing my external 2.5 HD (uses to 2 usb ports for power). Even in "disc management" its not recognized, but the interesting thing is, all other usb devices work perfectly even all thumb drives.
I originally thought my HD was starting to fail, but later realized it worked on my laptop and htpc. Both computers recognized the external drive w/ no problems 100% of the time.
Things Ive done since:
1.Reformat main desktops HD and reinstall windows 7 (32)
2.Reformatted external HD (did it on the laptop)
3. Tried all usb ports with same result
* In the Bios, under "usb config". The drive IS recognizable. But when windows starts up, nothing happens.
But my main desktop still wont read or recognize my external drive. Im guessing its my motherboard (Asus P5KC) or PSU thats giving me the problems? Is my external drive not getting enough power? Is there any other way to trouble shoot this?
my dvd drive just stopped recognizing discs...the icon even dissappeared
View 1 Replies View Relatedall started last tuesday when i swapped an ati radeon 4350 graphics card for nvidia Geforce 210 GPU,,i fully uninstalled all ATI drivers, switched off,,installed nvidia card,,restarted and installed new drivers, things looked fine until i opened WMC,,it was in 4:3 resolution and not 16:9 (the shape of the player, not the program output resolution) and it would not change shape, even though i had been through the setup and changed to 16:9,so i ignored this problem and went on to the tv channel setup in WMC,,it wouldn't find my tuner though (REALTEK 2832U,,usb freeview tuner). After many failed attempts to find the tuner,i gave up,uninstalled nvidia and reinstalled ATI,again,no problems with swapping cards over, but WMC will not work.
Heres what ive tried upto now to get WMC working again:many times trying the standard retuning in WMC,checked outside aerial on a freeview box, works fine,so the aerial is fine, from my outside aerial,i have 4 coaxial extension cables pushed together to reach from front room aerial point to back room where comp is,checked each cable by only using 3 cables, making sure that i have swapped eachcable, meaning i have run a signal using different combinations of cables,so i know that an individual cable isnt at fault, installed blazedtv program from the disk that came with the tuner, which finds upto 75 channels, but all pictures are badly broken up (mainly green and red blocks),with virtually no audio,,,i can hear something, but cant make any sounds out, also,no tv information (tv name etc) is available, just numbers that mean nothing to me,hilst writing this,a search on WMC has returned 14 channels, none of which are playable, only black screen if i press play, time bar is visible, but nothing happens,as this only happened during a hardware change,im fully confident that my signal is perfect, had great picture for 2 years with this setup and although i have had problems with WMC before, any problems have always been resolveable,h yes,,i've also reinstalled windows 7 as a last resort, but with no effect.
i've tried give as much info as possible, but feel free to ask for any more info,,im reasonably computer literate so am open to trying anything,,,thx for reading.p.s,,,i also have 2,,10 metre lengths of coax extension cable, but have never got them to work, which is why i use the 4 extension cable setupp.p.s,,,checked in device manager and the realtek tuner is showing under 'sound, video and game controllersand drivers are up to date.
got a tosh c650 laptop and just tried putting a cruser blade 16gb stick into one of its 2 usb ports. Now both ports dont do anything .Tried deleting all drivere and re installing (inc safe mode) but no joy...Have I damaged the MB?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Compaq Presario CQ62-215DX, running Norton Internet Security and firewall through Windows 7. I sucessfully installed new Wireless LAN and Lightscribe system software several days ago, along with the Live Essentials, Realtek and Windows 7 Updates. Everything was operating correctly yesterday, but when I booted up my computer today my wireless mouse refused to work. After trying a fix involving a USB stick, I realized that none of my USB ports work. The ports light up when I restart, until Windows 7 finishes logging in, and once it begins the drivers refuse to work. Is it because of the recent updates? Because I cleaned up my back-up copies?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy LAN and WiFi suddenly stopped working. It was working fine for several hours before now. I decided to take a break and pour myself some coffee and give a package to the postman. Gone for maybe 10 minutes at the most. When I came back, the LAN and WiFi mysteriously had stopped functioning. I know nobody touched anything because I am the only one who uses this computer. I tried disabling and re-enabling, as well as re-installing the drivers. This is a work network, and everyone else's connection seems fine, and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. Keep in mind I can't just re-set the router because this is not a home network.
View 12 Replies View RelatedThe first thing I do after installing win 7 is apply the uxtheme patch. I've been running custom themes for a while, but yesterday decided to change the look of things. I applied a os x leopard type theme, it didn't work and now I've lost all desktop visual effects (transparency, themes, win+tab).I run the diagnostic and it detects that 'Windows Desktop Manager is disabled' - so I think "Ok, I'll just go into services and re-enable it"... but it's GONE! How the hell can a service just remove it self?So I run System Restore back to when I knew it was working, but still no damn transparency, that service or themes, just the default non-transparent Aero!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had WMC up and running for about a year now, no problems. Tonight we decided to watch a movie that I have as an *.mkv file - we do this all the time, at least once a week if not more. I shut down WMC and played the movie in VLC Media player. When I went to start WMC again, the sound was gone. The sound works in the rest of the system. I can hear computer sounds, and VLC and other media players work fine. It's just WMC that has no sound.I checked all my devices and drivers, no errors. Though to be honest, if that was the problem I'd expect all sounds to be gone.I removed WMC from the system by using the "Remove Windows Features" in Control Panel, and then re-installed it. No difference.I did notice however that removing and re-installing WMC, I didn't have to re-setup all my channels, etc. The settings "stuck". (Oh, by the way, I did re-run the sound setup in WMC, no difference).I'm wondering if maybe my WMC settings are corrupted somehow? Is there some sort of config file perhaps? I have no backup plan here, this is my only way to watch TV. I guess I could wipe the drive and start from scratch, but I'd prefer not to.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI run an eyefinity setup with a 2gb 6870, and for about 2 months it has been running perfectly fine. I turned my pc on this morning and my third display stopped working.Details Currently monitors 1,2 are on.When the pc posts the post info is on monitors 1,3 which shows that the third monitor is recognized.(Does not show up in CCC)Im using an active dp adapter for monitor 1. Dvi for 2 and Hdmi for 3. I have switched all of these around and it makes 0 Difference. The ADP adapter monitor works when it is plugged in so I am not sure if the cable went bad. I figure if the cable went bad it would not work at all.I have tried re installing the drivers and reverting to an older issue of ccc. Neither worked.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new laptop, which was set up for me in the shop. Everything was working perfectly. Now however, my PC is not recognising the printer. I have previously been able to print from this laptop using the same cable, printer and USB port.
When I try to 'troubleshoot' this problem, I get a message that the printer driver is not installed. I thought Windows 7 automatically installed devices when connected via USB?
I have double checked the cable with another laptop and all is fine. I have double checked both USB ports with other devices and all is fine.
I have an older Dell Inspiron 5100 that's been rock solid since day one. I recently transferred all my music from my PC to my Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex so I could organize my files while I was out of town on business. When I got to my hotel and plugged the Seagate into the USB port the laptop would not recognize it. There's two USB ports, one of the USB ports does nothing at all when I plug the drive in (not even a 'Ding-Dong' sound). The other port at least responds but still not recognized. By "responds" I mean Windows responds with a "Dunn..." sound; not the happy two tone sound of a device actually being recognized and available, just a "Dunn..."I've used this drive before on this laptop on several occasions so I know it's compatible. I also came home and plugged to drive back into the PC to see if the drive itself responds. It does, and all files are there and happy. Also, when plugged into the non-responsive USB slot the light on the drive blinks a couple times, the platters spool up for 15 or so seconds then goes out. When plugged into the other USB slot (the one that goes "Dunn...") the light comes on and stays on and the platters spin untill I unplug the device. But it's still not recognized.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA few days ago my computer (an ASUS Eee Netbook) suddenly stopped being able to connect to the wireless network in my apartment, seemingly for no reason whatsoever. It had been working fine earlier in the day, I went out for about an hour (didn't even shut the computer down), returned home and was unable to connect to the network. The computer can locate the network and continues to attempt connecting to it with no luck. I can connect to other networks without any trouble. It has never done this before. I've rebooted the computer several times and performed a System Restore, but without any success. I'm hesitant to reset the router as this is a shared connection with the other people in my apartment (who as far as I know aren't having any trouble with the connection).

turned my machine on today and suddenly its stopped working with this:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
I haven't touched anything, havent changed anything, I've done nothing.
Why the hell has this happened? I'm screwed now and have to pother about dual booting into XP just to get my artwork finished
Why has Windows 7 suddenly decided to block my drivers that have been working perfectly fine for 6 weeks for no reason!?
I had to re-install Mozilla Firefox and ever since then, my links/hyperlinks in my emails (Microsoft Outlook 2007) won't work. It may have been other things that I installed which led me to have to re-install Firefox, but I just need to be able to get the links to work again.

I've restarted the computer, pulled the battery for a few minutes, turned legacy usb on/off, right click and uninstalled all universal USB controllers (then restarted to get windows to reinstall them), tried different mice on the problem computer, tried the mouse on a different computer (it worked), pretty much every solution i've found on the internet so far from people with similar issues of usb mice/keyboards suddenly stopping and never coming back using windows 7.I'm actually going to go to toshiba's website and check if they have any drivers that I could download/update.
