Start Up Message About Configuring Solution Center
Apr 20, 2011
Whenever I start up, I get a message from the Windows Installer stating that it is configuring the Solution Center. Then it says that it can't find the information needed because it is on a disc that came with the computer. It says to find the disc that has solution center on it and insert it. Why am I getting this? I've had my computer for 7 months now. I got 2 discs with the computer. One disc says: Drivers and Utilities Already Installed On Your Computer (Contents: Device drivers, Diagnostics and utilities). The other disc says: Drivers and Documentation (Contents: Device drivers, Setup Guide, User's Guide). Would either of those be what they're referring?
I'm not sure this is the right place to post, but, I get a message on start up to turn on action center, this was on before, I think I may have disabled it, and I don't know how to reset it.
My HP 1510 printer works fine with Windows 7-64 via the drivers that were downloaded on Windows Update. My problem is that I like the HP Solution Center for scanning, but the install disc would not even load. That is, I get an error that says the software (HP SC) is not compatible with the operating system. Anybody know of a way to allow the software to be installed? If not, is there a good scanning software that works with 64 bit?
I just purchased a new laptop and installed the printer drivers for my HP 7310xi all-in-one printer. The printer works fine. I have it on a wireless network. When I click on HP Solution Center, it says "HP Solution Center cannot run because the set-up was not complete. Re-run the set-up program from the installation CD for a network installation." What concerns me is the fact that other people are having problems with the HP Solution Center and Windows 7. I tried to find a download for the HP Solution Center that works for Windows 7.
I have downloaded HP Solution Center and followed directions to the "T".Unplugged ethernet cable etc. During the install it recognizes my printer a 7410 but when doing final install it pops up a large red X. When trying to open the Solution Center I get an error message."It can not run because yor device installation is not complete" Then tells you to unplugged the printer and re-install. Have done that several times.Have it connected with an ethernet cable via the router. Even tried to connect direct.
i have only recently switched to windows 7 and am slowly getting all the programs i want to have for its daily use ... the problem i have is i cannot find where the start up program manager is ... has this been removed or am i just being duhhh
I have avast installed on here, but the AC has "solve 1 important message". The AV. Now granted all the talk about how soon ppl think 7 will get out, no way jose is what i say, if they cant even fix small problems with the OS as to recognize it has an AV installed on it. MS has more work ahead of them
anyone else running avast or other AV run into this message?
Also too mention, i find it funny about the (only) 4 particular AV MS advertises for, especially when i've seen and heard problems with Norton and avg
Pls dont give an answer to this thread of how to turn off msg, i know.
I Windows 7 Home Premium. My windows is getting the updates but when it says configuring windows it doesn't do it and says it failure to config and is reverting back.I also cannot turn on Windows Security Center.I appears something happened 8/15. I tried microsoft's fixes and system restore which hasn't fixed the problems.[CODE]
i did a registry cleaner(to erase some entries of a bad uninstalled software) (with comodo registry cleaner) after restart i notice that the antivirus and firewall icons on the clock area were gone, after couple of restarts they came back.... now the activity center flag is delayed (bt now i dont remember if it is normal or not) and once the flag is there i test the activity center by disabling firewall, then the flag come out with a red "x", but not with the antivirus. In this picture, as you seei have disabled both, antivirus and firewall and it only shows the firewall as "important" message.should not show the antivirus status as an important message too?
Windows Security Center will not start, regardless of whether I'm in my regular account, or admin. I have tried fixing it based off some info I "researched" on-line, but it claims that my user account isn't the same as others using the same process....All of the others I have looked at in Services all say "Network Service", just like I tried setting the WSC to.
A flag is appearing in the bottom right corner on my laptop running windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit version. On opening the action center by clicking on flag the message appears "Windows Security Center Service (Important) - The windows Security Center service is turned off" Next to this message is a button "Turn on now". When I click on the button gets an error message "windows security service can't be started". no details. checked my laptop for any virus, torjan, malware etc. using 3 different tools: McAfee, Windows malicious software removal tool, Malwarebytes No virus or suspecious programs try to start the security services manually using services.
Everything works fine but every time I restart windows it takes a good 3-5 minutes for the 'Network and Sharing Center' icon to "load". Basically it has that circular loading icon hovering over it like it's loading something, and sometimes it has a red cross over it. During this time Firefox won't load and MSE disables real time protection until the network center says I'm connected.
I can't get get my Security Center, OR my firewall to work correctly. When I attempt to turn my firewall on, it just quits responding. When I go into my services.msc to see if any of them are there.
I played some videos that I took with my camera and downloaded to PC, and now I have the following problems:
The videos opened up in Windows Media Player, apparently. Played Ok.
But now, when I click on other Desktop icons having absolutely nothing to do with pix or video, Windows Media Center opens up. It's as if it has taken over my PC. Also, all my icons on the bottom left of my screen (the Start Menu I think it is called ?) now have generic icons. Also a bunch on my Desktop, but not all. Clicking on any of these also opens up the Windows Media Center. How do I get my normal looking icons to show again correctly, and operate correctly?
I keep getting the "Can't open ACPI Kernel Mode Drive" when I turn on my computer. After I click "OK" everything seemed to work fine until a few days ago. Now my screen goes black periodically for no apparent reason. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the error message at start up.
getting a message saying XOTLJ is compressed then underneath says press ctrl alt del to restart and gives the same message every time tried to reboot from disc same message again
When I start my computer and desktop comes, there is a notification message, saying "windows could not connect to the group policy client service." So I checked whether group policy client service run using "services.msc", but it shows, it has been stoped and also I can't start the service there. When I checked the event viewer, in the "Windows logs>>System" There is a error message something like this. "There was an error while attempting to read the local hosts file." Event ID 1012.
When starting Internet Explorer, I keep getting and error message telling me that Windows Installer cannot be accessed. Now I cannot open Outlook, Word, iTunes etc. When I do try to open these programs, I get a message saying "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Small Business 2007", but it doesnt seem to do anything. I've run a diagnostic (F12) and was alerted of the following error :Error Code 0142, Msg Error Code 2000-0142, Status 79. The system is extremely slow and I can only stay logged onto an IE page for a few minutes before it has to shut down. My system just restarted (not sure why) and after the start up I got this error message "An error occurred in the program. Try to open it again. If this problem continues, you'll need to reinstall Microsoft Security Client. Error Code: 0x80040154". I am using Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell Studio.
How can I get into my laptop? I have a Windows failed to start error message. Asking me to inser my windows installation disc which didn't come with laptop
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on a gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r
A few weeks ago, I shut down my PC completely for a regular cleaning. I do a regular cleaning once a month, this was the first time I had an issue.
After I finished, I powered up the machine, and Windows would continually fail to start - rebooting at some point while the Logo load screen was up.
After several Google searches, I tried pretty much everything I could think of or advice i came across - Nothing worked. I could not boot from the Win7 Disk, System Repair did not work, advanced boot options did not work, etc. At this point I thought the HDD might be bad (WD Caviar Black 1 TB).
So I went and purchased a new HDD, the same model actually as it was on sale. Windows installed fine, everything got up and running with no issue.
I then took my HDD which I had believed had failed and plugged it into a Thermaltake BlacX Docking station and I was able to locate the drive in the device manager after scanning for new hardware.
I actually was able to go into the hard drive and recover the few bits of data I hadn't backed up (mostly gaming files). The HDD was completely fine. Fast forward a few weeks, and feel free to laugh at me here - I'm in the exact same situation with the new HDD once again after cleaning my PC case.
So, I'm not sure what is happening. I've rebooted the PC many times without issue but today was the first time that I fully powered down the PC to do a cleaning.
I suspect something is causing Windows to fail to recognize the HDD itself, but honestly this is way beyond my knowledge how to fix. I took a risk and I removed the sata cable from the "GSata" slot on the motherboard and put it into one of the standard ICHR10 - to no effect.
I've once again exhausted every option I actually know how to safely do, advanced boot options, repair attempt from Win7 Disk, etc. Nothing is working. I'm debating running out yet again and grabbing a cheap HDD just to get myself up and running again, but I thought I'd turn to Tom's Hardware first for some ideas - and because I don't want to be going through this issue everytime I want to give the PC case a good cleaning.
I got a new laptop, an LG A550, with an i5 and Geforce 640M two weeks ago things were running ok until yesterday, i was playing online and suddenly the flash game crashed. i thought it was a flash player problem, so i updated it, and problems began: not only stills with the game not loading, but also i had most web pages not loading properly. taking lots of time to load and when it happens it shows an text only creepy version of it that happens to facebook, kongragate and other sites i guess uses flash, but google and gmail and this forum works ok then i tried to update the java, but that bug makes me not be able to download that update.
I got mad and tried system restore. All attempts failed. Finally i tried to restore the whole system to factory conditions, to get rid of ALL softwares i had installed in this two weeks. when completed, guess what... the issue CONTINUES!
what should i do now? could be a problem with the files at the D partition? a hardware problem? or some rare hard time register bug?
