I recently posted a problem relating to my pci-e wireless network card not being detectable at all by windows 7, while when i go back to vista, it works fine. This means I can't get Internet for Windows 7, leaving it useless in many ways. Now I tried every single driver that's listed on HP's website (Select software and drivers*), and whenever I try to install any of these drivers, it always comes saying that my system does not meet minimum requirements.
My system is great, (I'll post stats below), so I know it has to do something with the drivers not being capable with windows 7. I tried running all of them in capability mode (Vista, XP, so on), with no luck.
Does any one have any suggestions on how to get this Network Card: (Ralink Technology Corp Ralink Technology Corp pci-e network card) to work with windows seven? Maybe Im not using the right driver^^look at website above, so if Im not can someone lead me in the right direction?
Overview: My computer's running windows vista and windows 7(on another partition), does not pick up my pci-e network card while running windows 7. I tried the drivers from the website listed above that has all of the latest drivers for my system on windows 7 itself, with each one saying my system is not compatible (9998) <<that must be error code. Tried running them in capability mode, didn't work. They all worked on vista.

So can anyone help me to get a Ralink pci-e network card to work on windows 7?
For some reason, Windows 7 does not find any adapters on my computer. I have heard that Netgear does not support Windows 7 yet, (Aren't vista drivers supposed to work on Windows 7 anyway? I have a WPN111 adapter) so I'm using a built in pci-e Ralink for my adapter that came with my comp. I downloaded the most recent driver for it off of HP's site, but when I install it on Windows 7, it comes out saying that my system does not meet the miniumum requirements.
every time i turn on my laptop it goes to the Starting Windows screen and then the windows logo never shows up and goes into a start up repair. the start up repair is unable to fix anything. i don't have any restore points and i get an error message every time i try to back up my files. i think it's just missing a file to start up but i'm not sure.
this is what the start up repair says: Problem Event Name: StartupRepairOffline Problem Signature 01:6.1.7600.16385 Problem Signature 02:6.1.7600.16835 Problem Signature 03:unknown Problem Signature 04:21200290 Problem Signature 05:AutoFailerover Problem Signature 06:17 Problem Signature 07: CorruptRegistry OS Version:6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID:1033
I did a clean install on my new HP pavillion model a6632f, everything works other than I can't get the 15 in 1 reader to show up. There are no unknown devices in device manager.
I'm running just a standard Hp pavilion dv4 laptop, windows 7 64 bit and i5 core. Two days ago my computer started running at 100% or spiking between random % and 100% on idle, or when I run just one program ( it does it with word, firefox and other small programs).I opened up the task manager and checked to see if there were any background services running that were causing this, to my knowledge there aren't any. The spikes are happening when any program is ran, thus making my laptop extremely slow. It also has a few moments when it has shutdown to avoid overheating.
A list of things I've done so far to try and find/correct this problem are:Disabled all startup programs and services, gone to safe mode, used malwarebytes, spybot and AVG to detect if there was a trojan or virus causing this severe problem. A few anomalies I've discovered that lead me to believe it might be a virus were: Windows defender will not open and is currently off, same with windows security center. When I search google on firefox for specifics such as "cpu 100% or overheating and such" I'm redirected to msdb or some microsoft support website, without it bringing up the google results. It's also done this in general when i try to search any other random sites on google. It's either a very clever trojan or worm or a hardware failure.I contacted HP told them what was up. They just opted for me to send it in and have them replace the CPU and motherboard for 320$ which is kind of ridiculous without them even taking a look at it. When this problem initially occurred and I checked what processes were running at the time, there was one SVChost.exe file that was tagged as "bit-coin miner". I stopped it, but yet, I know that some people are out there hijacking other GPU with bots to mine for bitcoins. That made me thing that it could be a virus and not a hardware problem.
had a blue screen with some error that quickly displayed before restarting didnt get to write all down C000006? now it only keep bringing up the recovery manger, i tried system restore and get error (0x800700b7) and computer checkup neither of those helped. Run in, memory ,hard disk tests passed
I have a Pavilion SL3850 that freezes up multiple times per day. When it freezes up, the system is not reachable though the network, and the keyboard does not react on events - the numlock led does not change. The screen remains frozen, with all text and images displayed as it was. There is no mouse response anymore. The system is running Windows 7 64x. The fans are working, and I checked the system and memory with the HP diagnostics tools. I also replaced the root hard disk and restored the system through WHS. I also tried restoring the system to a month before the problems started, but it froze just as frequent. There is no indication in the system log about the freeze, apart from a report that it has stopped unexpectantly. This stop time is at the time of the freeze, not at the time when I switch off the system to reboot it.
My new notebook has a number of partitions with windows 7 on one. I would like to do a complete format and then install windows 7 on about a 20 gig partition.
We just bought a Hp Pavilion p6-2133w, we hooked it up to a sony monitor, we had to hook them up with a adapter that takes the dvi-d from the computer and adapts it to vga for the monitor. The problem is the monitor doesn't act like it is reading the signal.
my laptop has been working fine for the most, occasionally the screen would go weird and turn white with horizontal lines moving and i planned on getting that checked out soon, but today it wouldn't start up. i turn the laptop on and it goes to the Starting Windows screen and the windows logo never shows up and then it tries to do a system repair and it can't solve the problem. i'm not really sure what else there is for me to do. there aren't any system restore points i can use and i can a check disk that did nothing. i wanted to try turning it back to factory settings and backing up my files but when i tried to do the file back up and it was creating the back up files i got an error that says "HP Recovery Manager failed. Error code = FFFFFF0C."
I am intending to migrate my laptop from win vista to Windows 7 and I am not being able to find the correct drivers (or at least Iam not sure and I donot wont to make a mistake)this is the configuration of the notebook
I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate onto my HP Pavilion a810n, but cannot get the XP drivers to work with it. I really only need the network driver to work so I can access the internet. I have tried extracting the drivers to a folder and tried to add it using the "device manager" manually but that does not seem to work.
It would also be great to get the motherboard audio/video drivers to work. Not that important since I have an external sound card and an ATI All in wonder Video Card.
I have a HP Pavilion laptop (dv6810us). It's about 1.5 years old, so it came w/Vista. I currently have it dual booted w/7 Premium, and everything works fine except for the display. In the Vista boot, i get 1280x1024, very clear. When i boot into 7, it says it displaying the same resolution, but it looks horribly fuzzy, and the icons are larger.
I've tried all display/control panel options thus far, and i've ensured that i have all settings to their highest level. I've searched HP's website for compatible 7 display drivers, but nothing has been released. Is it that my laptop simply cannot handle 7?
I have just purchased an HP Pavilion dv4-1225dx laptop, and this is the one time I like the software that has come pre-installed (HP Mediasmart software) And so, by doing a clean install, ill lose the webcam software (mediasmart component) and the other stuff I have on there (Installing WoW again and downloading updates..not doing it again).
I tried the upgrade feature and it hung at 18% for a while and I gave up on it (Second line on the install screen, I forget what it says it is) So I was wondering if it is normal for it to han ga little while doing an upgrade from an OEM version of Vista or just upgradeing in general..?
I recently purchased a pavilion g6 laptop running windows 7 with intel i3 core. got to home and it started up great within a couple of minutes. Went through onscreen tutorials and was prompted to allow windows to automatically update which I did. Windows then went on to update about 11 things, which were for security and x64bit, I was then prompted to restart which I did. It then went on to configure the updates which took 4 hours, Now everytime the laptop is turned on it takes 15 minutes to load. (this time is from the time I press the power button to the desktop screen) For the first couple of minutes I get a black screen with the windows logo, then the pale blue 'please wait' screen which lasts about 5 mins. I am then prompted to input my password. Another pale blue 'please wait' screen for a couple of minutes. The screen then goes blank for the remainder if the time (but I can see and move the pointer onscreen)I have done a troubleshoot and the results came back that I have to many programs running at startup which may hamper performance but as these are reinstalled or have been automatically updated I'm not sure which ones are needed, below is a list of these programs.
I've had my dv7 for nearly two years, and it has worked well the entire time. Recently within the last month, when preforming normal tasks like browsing the web or watching videos, the CPU usage would spike to 100% and stay there, rendering the computer useless. Every time this happens I would shut it down and wait a full day. This allowed for about 15 minutes of smooth running time before another spike.I have run CCleaner, two full system scans using Norton 360 to no avail, updated all BIOS, cleaned out the fan and heatsink, and checked the power settings to see if the processor had been changed to use a minimum 100%.

I recently installed Windows 7 on my HP Pavilion 9925nr(HP Pavilion dv9925nr Entertainment Notebook PC*) and it seems like everything is flawless except the audio driver.
Sound works just fine, volume is good, even the quick volume control buttons work without me installing any drivers, however I encountered the following problems:
1. built in mic does no longer work, it doesn't appear in device manager nor in Recording Devices
2. I just realized that the quick mute button no longer colors orange when sound is muted, it remains blue
Any headphones I plug in to either of the two ports, the right headphone doesnt work. i tried with different headphones none of them work ( new or old ones.) when i try plug the headphones on others pc and laptop, both right and left side is working fine external speakers work well. sound balance settings is at 100 and when i press test button i hear from two headphones. But the problem is, the left headphone is the only one I can hear out of when fully plugged in(when playing audio or video)
maybe there is some sound setting problems, or any updates that caused this problem, i set it to default but still i got the same problem, there is no sign that i missing my sound driver in my device manger.
I'm running a 32 bit Win 7
(The odd thing is it was just fine with one of my headphones a few minutes ago but now nothing! its not working again.
