HP DV6700 Tx Laptop
Feb 26, 2010Does anyone has tried successfully installing Windows 7 on HP dv6700 laptop? Does it work? I am asking because HP is not officially supporting it on all laptops (including this one).

(this came from computer)[/b] Worked for a bit now no sound at all had to buy an external one want the one included in my computer to stay on not bounce off. this has happend after installing windows 7 home premium onto my windows vista(worked well with this one) now after awhile it works then now sound.

Nov 9, 2012I have recently upgraded and formatted my HP Pavillion dv6700 CTO entertainment laptop from windows vista to windows7-Ultimate-64bit OS. Everythings working fine but in device manager I find four yellow exclamation showing no drivers. Three of them are missing with Base System Devices drivers and one with an unkown device.

I have a cooling stand for it, and it hardly ever is moved because I know how hot it gets - its more like a desktop now. I've heard it is because of a bad heat sink design in the DV6 Series, but was wondering whether replacing the current thermal compound with something such as Arctic Silver would help at all? I am buying a new laptop in the next few months, but I cannot decide on the best laptop to buy. I have been interested in a Dell XPS 15, which has the i3-2310m processor and the Nvidia 525M GPU. I don't playing any FPS games, but do play some browser games (or did play, but I would rather have the option there). Would this be adequate for games like RuneScape and such?
