Dec 2, 2009The volume icon on the taskbar reads "No Audio Output Device is Installed". No sound whatsoever not even out of the headphone jack. HP does not make a driver update. They told me my computer is too slow to run Windows 7. Funny, because I'm running 7 as I type this! Works great, other than this issue.
If there isn't a driver, I can of course get a USB or Express card sound card, right?

Nov 4, 2009I'm in a pickle with my machine and Windows 7 after this latest update. On startup I get an error from MMDevApi.dll saying that it might not run on Windows or... something else. This also occurs anytime a program tries to use the sound card ie. WoW, Yahoo IM, Live IM, SL, etc. I've updated my sound card drivers to the newest ones. I still get an error that says the device is detected when going to "Sound Devices" in the control panel.
Trying to adjust the sounds themselves leads me to the Windows Audio thing... which won't start even from the component list.

May 1, 2011I could really do with some help. Just installed W7 64 but when I come to install drivers it cannot even detect my x-fi SB at all. Thus I cannot install the driver. No sound at all - I am at a loss. Does anyone have a solution? ps I have a ASUS ABN-SLI Nvidia chipset.

Oct 19, 2009i hav dual boot with Windows 7 64-bit ultimate RC and win XP..... my windows 7 does not detect my sound card. when i try to install any drivers , i get a msg "Setup is unable to detect any supported product on ur system" [i tried many drivers]..In the Device manager, drivers for "Multimedia Audio Controller" & "PCI Simple communication controller" are not installed.. but no issues with win XP.

HP Dv6910us Upgraded From Vista64 To Windows 7 64 But No Sound Card Detected?
Feb 21, 2012the volume icon has a 'x' over it and it says no audio output device is installed. device manager doesn't list any sound cards or controllers and scanning for hardware changes doesn't fix anything. I've been searching for audio drivers until recently I found out that the drivers are useless if your pc doesn't detect your sound card. I believe the audio was working after the upgrade to Win7 but after keeping the laptop muted for a long period of time (i don't use my laptop for music or video) the audio just stopped working.

Everythings working fine but in device manager I find four yellow exclamation showing no drivers. Three of them are missing with Base System Devices drivers and one with an unkown device.

HP Pavillion 751 Issues
Nov 9, 2009I have an old HP Pavillion 751 desktop with a P4 2Ghz. I put a new AGP vid card in and loaded Windows 7 32bit. The OS loaded fine, but the system will not boot at all. It's just a reboot loop. I cannot get Windows 7 to even display on the screen for half second to press F8. I tried doing a startup repair also, but it will not boot. I then tried to load Vista...same exact result. I had XP running fine on here. The HD and RAM are good, no issues there. What is the reason this system will not run with either Vista or 7, even with a brand new 'aero' compatible video card?
