Getting Constant Pings - How To Check What Program Is Doing It
Feb 2, 2012I'm getting pinged constantly and I don't know what program is doing it. Is there a way of listing all my programs to configure which one could be the culprit?

Auto-check Program Not Found - Skipping Auto-check
May 9, 2012Auto check comes up 4 times right after windows7 starts up. But will continue to boot normally. BEreg Query comes up with this.

Constant BSODs And Program Instability?
Dec 17, 2011I've had these issues since I built this computer in about February last year. Programs are unstable or freeze (SC2, Skyrim, even firefox). I get seemingly random BSODs. I can't really define a pattern of when they occur, but it is at least daily.I have reinstalled the OS (Windows 7 home premium 64 bit, full retail version) multiple times in an attempts to resolve. I have 2 HDDs in addition to my SSD. OS is currently on SSD. I had tried installing the OS on the HDDs as part of troubleshooting but ran into the same issues. I wiped the HDDs with Deriks Boot n Nuke before using them as storage.I can run Furmark with no issues. I have run memtest86 with no reported errors. I've run Driver Genius Pro to keep everything there up to date.I believe that is all relevant information. Please let me know if there is any further information required. I have been looking for a definitive conclusion for a long time.

Oct 3, 2012From what I've been seeing and been doing my research for the past two days, many people have been having the same issues throughout the years, however, this is the first time I've encountered this issue and many of the specific workarounds or fixes have not worked for me. I've been trying to work through this for 24 hours straight now,On Monday night, got home from work; surfing the internet for half an hour, everything was fine as always. Just after half an hour, my Internet got very sluggish and then it died completely. I thought it might have been the an update I just put through in terms of Windows Update that said was a critical update for MSE, as the same thing happened a few years ago. I did a System Restore to two different dates that were in the past two weeks, nothing.
Uninstalled MSE and disabled Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall: Nothing.eset IE Options, Reset Winsock, Dumping DNS, many of the other command prompt screens to reset items: Nothing.Reset the modem: Nothing.What DID work, however, was a ping test to Yahoo. The ping test worked, saying all four packets was recieved, yet nothing else popped up. LAN and CenturyLink said everything worked on their end and that everything was connected properly, as well as the speeds working fine.CenturyLink said in their notes that they thought Port 80 was blocked. I went and put in the Firewall to allow Port 80 but it didn't make any difference whatsoever.
I remembered I had a spare modem laying around and I switched them up, both modem and the cords - nothing. then hooked it up to my netbook to see if that would work, as it usually does - connection didn't work there either.Like I said, it's been about 24 hours now and this is increasingly frustrating, as I've tried all solutions (While browsing through 10 search results pages on my phone) suggested and still nothing
Autochk* Program Not Found - Skipping AUTO-CHECK
Feb 17, 2012I ran chkdsk/r attempting to fix a separate issue. And then I noticed afterwards that during the boot process, I would get this message:autochk* program not found - skipping AUTOCHECKThe message shows up after the windows logo and before the logon screen.I can still run windows just fine with no problems what-so-ever. The only issue with it, is that it's there. I just want to make the message go away. I can make it not show up by selecting "no GUI boot" in msconfig, but that only masks the issue.

Linksys Router Will Respond To Pings But Won't Connect To Internet?
Jul 12, 2012I am running windows 7, 64 bit and have been having an issue with my Linksys E1500 router recently that has my ISP
My router will respond to pings from my laptop both wirelessly and when connected via ethernet cable, and will respond to pings from my ISP, but it won't allow my laptop to connect to the internet. I have rest and reconfigured the router a bunch of times, leaving the MAC address alone, cloning it to my laptop's ethernet port, and cloning it to my wireless cards MAC addresses, respectively. None of that allows it to connect. Linksys (Cisco) has been useless in helping both via their site and when contacted, encouraging me to pay $40 to talk to someone who MAY be able to help.
Note: The router worked fine for about 4 months, then one morning, couldn't connect to the internet through it. Have to connect directly from the modem via ethernet cable.

Nov 12, 2011We have an account with audible.com, and books were downloading just fine on my old computer. Switching to a new computer, however, meant that I had to go through a process of getting audible downloads to work again -- an involved process, unfortunately, that involved spending a long time on the phone with an audible tech. In the end, all was well except one thing -- we can't get the download to be automatic.
Instead of immediately downloading when I click "download" at audible (as it did before), I now see the download window, then I click on that and get an "open the file" window, and then the "what program do you want to use to open this file" screen pops up. The audible download manager is there, and when you click it, the download begins just fine.
At the bottom of that screen is a checkbox that asks if you want to always use that program to open this type of file -- and I do! But for the audible download manager (not for the other programs), the checkbox is greyed out so that I can't check it. The audible guy says that that's the key to automatic download, but he couldn't figure out how to make checking that box an option.
Dllhost.exe Constant 50% CPU?

Constant DNS Failure Out Of Nowhere

Jun 17, 2012I'm new to this forum, so please forgive me if I make a mistake.I recently purchased a Dell Latitude E4300 refurbished laptop from a seller on eBay. Ever since I brought it home, it has been constantly freezing randomly, whether it be whilst I'm browsing, navigating through windows etc.I've reformatted, and completely wiped the system about 3-4 times, installing different versions of Windows 7 whether it be Home Premium x32 or x64, or Windows 7 Professional x32 or x64 bit, but regardless of what I do, it concludes pointless. I first suspected it was the graphics driver, hence I've tried updating, and downgrading the driver to see whether it would rectify the problem. After that appeared pointless, I suspected it might've been the fan, as the computer does heat up quite quickly, however that concluded pointless as the computer froze even on the windows 7 boot logo. Finally I suspected it might've been the hard drive, and/or the ram, I did some tests (Windows Memory Diagnostic & Memtest86+) and CHKDSK multiple times without any detected errors being found. What I found interesting was that it mainly froze when I initiated a "Windows Experience Index" test, however that was at the beginning.

Nov 17, 2011I have 7, 64 bit, running on an HP and have been keeping pretty up to date on my drivers.amd a4 3300 processor with graphics card, and 4 g ram.When trying to use menus, the window or entire screen will seem as though it refreshes, closing the menu, i can watch the bar across the top of windows flash as if it had just disappeared for a split second and the menu is gone, leaving me to reopen it, but at a second or less between these refreshes I have to be quick on the pointer to get to what I want. It seems to happen on any menu item, including all drop downs, wether im right clicking a start menu pined item, a choice dropdown on a webpage, a setting dropdown, etc. it doesnt alwasys do this but more often than not. It seems like I can sometimes restart the pc and it will work, but it often will do it right at startup. I hadnt noticed it til I connected the VGA out AND the HDMI out to the same tv (dont know why I did it at the same time, I think to compare the cropping). Also, I used system restore to go back to before a bunch of updates and it seemed to fix it, but that might just be because the pc restarted in the process.

Nov 20, 2012Basically, no matter what browser I'm using (I get the error in IE, Firefox, and Chrome), it usually takes me 5-6 tries to load any given webpage, and even then most of the time the formatting's screwed up, pictures don't show up, etc. I'm using a new(ish) HP laptop that's maybe about 20 feet from the router. The router itself is hooked up to the desktop computer, which never has this problem. My wifi signal is strong, and the indicator in the tray never drops below "excellent" signal strength even when I'm repeatedly clicking refresh. Power cycling the router doesn't work. I've cleaned out caches and histories, even uninstalled and reinstalled browsers with all necessary updates, and still nothing. I called the cable company that provides my internet and they're convinced it's not on their end. It doesn't matter if anyone else in the house is using the desktop with its net connection at the same time I'm trying to use mine. Theirs works, mine doesn't.
But here's the really weird thing: I had this same problem with my previous laptop.In both cases, I can take the laptop other places (school, coffee shop, etc) and never once experience this issue.It seems to have cycles where it'll be fine for a little while (maybe hours, maybe days), and then for a few hours or days at a time I just want to give up and go read a book or something.In IE, I typically get a standard "this page cannot be displayed" type error. In Firefox and Chrome, I tend to get more specific "the connection was reset" errors, often immediately upon hitting refresh. Sometimes the page will try to load, and "Sending request" or a similar message will appear in the status bar before everything craps out. Just as often, the page will appear to be very slowly loading, then parts of it will load but most of it will be an Error 105 message (In Chrome: "Error 105 net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): Unable to resolve the server's DNS address.") Doesn't matter what page it is. Google, Facebook, my school's library portal, reddit, Amazon, doesn't make a difference.
The only other thing I can possibly think of is that it's the router itself that's bad. It's a generic deal that doesn't even have a name; the manual I had to scour Google for refers to it only as "11g Wireless Security Router." But that still doesn't really tell me why the desktop connection works like it should (unless that connection is completely bypassing the router; I'm rather clueless about these things).

Mar 18, 2012For the past week I've had crashes after about an hour of use. I was getting BSODs that flashed quickly then the computer tried to reboot but would not get past the motherboard screen.Power cycling brings windows back. After enabling a page file I was able to get a BSOD and minidump which wasn�t happening previously.I've tried memtest86 (only 1 pass), chkdsk and windows virus scans. Nothing shows up. I dusted out the internals and monitored the CPU temp and that was normal. The video driver (AMD onboard) was the only driver that needed updating and I fixed that with no change.
Here's my info:
x64 windows 7 professional, homebuilt, about 1 year old.
More details:The first time the crash happen I was running Google Earth for the first time in a long time. Initially web pages stop loading. Then I can�t switch programs or start task manager. Then the spinning rings cursor shows up. About a minute later the computer flashes the BSOD then reboots. Though now it seems to persistently show the BSOD.

Constant CTD's And Freezes When Playing Fallout 3
Nov 29, 2011i have been spending alot of time on this problem, and everything does not seem to work. i have windows 7 home premium 64-bit, with a AMD Phenom II 945 Quad-Core processor. my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 5450, with an intergrated sound card and 8gb ddr3 memory. generaly, a problem arises within 20 mins of gameplay (does not matter if im outside or inside), and presents itself either as a crash-to-desktop or a freeze. also i am not playing with any mods or DLC's or with New Vegas i have tried many fixes; i have set the INI to use only 2 (then 1 processor), disabled all autosaves, downloaded/installed the d3d9 file, changed windows color scheme to "basic", i have updated all my video card drivers, i am not aware of any codecs being used on my system (did a file search, came up w/ nothing), running as administrator, allowed all premissions (its even installed in my documents, NOT program files), and even now i still have this problem. however, i can also play Oblivion w/ about 300 mods and i can play pretty comfortably. on top of that (even though i dont have the most recent games) Fallout 3 is the only problem.

Every single time I try to use system restore, it comes back with the exact same error, on reboot:
{"System restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed. Details:
Unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0xc0000043)"}
I have tried different system restore points, (within Windows), but it does not seem to fix the issue. I have also tried disabling my security software, (KIS 2010), and that doesn't seem to help either.
The puzzling thing is that when I run system restore in safe mode it seems to work no problem, but it just will not work within windows itself, (normal boot).
Constant Loop Windows Not Starting?
Aug 5, 2012I am using my iPhone to try to figure out my computer. So it is the only one I have. It is in a constant loop of windows not starting and trying to fix errors then says it can't, I can't get it to load in safe mode or anything else. I can use the box where u put in commands and found my registry hive says 0 bytes. I do not know how to fix this. And I do not have a windows disk cause it came already installed. So how can I fix this and what do I need to do or try.
I do have a Windows 7 product key on the back of my computer.
Constant Blinking Underscore On Boot Up
Sep 1, 2012I have an HP laptop that upon boot-up would show the HP logo and then go to a constant blinking underscore on the upper left hand corner. During the HP logo screen, I pressed f2 to enter "HP Startup" where I scan the hard drive and it passed all the test. Also I can go into the BIOS by pressing f10.
From my research, I changed the order of boot-up and put local hard drive at the very top. I also unplugged the battery. And laptop is still not working. I also read that perhaps putting in a System Repair Disk might work(?) But I just discover that my cd-rom drive is not working. What would be the best way/ or my options in going about to recovering my data?
