I've read here that having the Device instance Path - Device instance ID is usfull n finding drivers, but having no luck, this is mine:

It was a generic cam with memory/sound activation feature, which came with no driver disk.
I have two monitors, both acers 20". I also have the driver disk.One monitor is recognized, and the other is generic pnp. i have tried to update the driver on the generic through both web and disk interfaces. epic fail.the main problem is one monitor's resolution is 1920x1080, and for the generic, that high of a resolution is unavailable. why can't i get the second monitor to recognize drivers
View 2 Replies View RelatedComputer shows generic pnp moniter in device manager im not getting the fps i should in games resolution gives me my zoran tv. i updated my drivers to my best knowledge i believe and i have resolution issues and it wont read a second moniter. i have a Nvidia Geforce 550Ti graphics card, and a AMD fx 6100 6 core processor from cyber pc. i dont know if that helps but. i cant get this resolved.i also have it hooked up with hdmi cable for the tv hook up. for my second monitor VGA cable.

I attempted to turn my PC on last night and got as far as black screen with cursor spinning, windows would not load. I booted into safe mode and ran superantispyware, malwarebytes, kaspersky....all came back finding nothing. From safe mode (or any mode) I can not acccess control panel, computer, etc; when I attempt to access I get the folllowing error msg, "windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have looked for an answer online but most of either does not work or is very complicated for your average man.Windows 98 was the best operating system, everyone knows thatWindows 7 has been treating me fine until recently.Over the last week, 4 or 5 different programs that I have been using , wont load. They come up with the error message in the subject of this post. And it says i may not have permission to view the files? These are programs i downloaded such as skype, vlc media player, google talk, audacity, utorrent. Things like that. Only 1 did it at first, now 5.Really annoying and I cant see a reason for it. So I usually will have to download the program again, but I cant keep doing that and it doesnt always work anyway.One idea i had , i thought it might be a problem to do with AVG virus killer thing.I have AVG free virus killer thing but it keeps crashing. (it says not responding)Does anyone have an idea of what I should look into ? I never had a problem with windows 98 until they started making stuff that only runs on later versions. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them."There is only my profile on the install of windows and I am the administrator, i've tried from the start menu - run - CMD with admin privileges and it gives me the same message. I've tried to Take ownership but that option isn't available in the drop down menu - it doesn't restrict me accessing any file or folder just the running of any file.In safe mode i've ran AV & AS programs including - Spybot S&D, Superantispyware, Avast, Malwarebytes AM & Microsoft security essentials - and none of them have found anything except a few cookies the first time through which it removed and changed nothing, as you would expect. I am also running Online Armour as my firewall but had turned off the program guard to install couple of programs, but not the webshield. As i mentioned above in Safe Mode i can run most programs no problem including the AV's. I also run Msconfig in safe mode to see if i could see a service or startup program i don't recognise as i've experimented with alot of them when i was running XP and there doesn't appear to be something that looks out of place.

When I to open windows explorer I keep getting the following message: explorer.exe windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropiate permissions.. I can't open the control panel and restarting didn't help one bit. I didn't have this problem until the latest windows update and I'm logged in as the administrator. View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you have a laptop and have a problem getting the built in SD / MMC card reader to work then I've found the "generic" one from the Twinhead german site does OK. For X-64 use the Vista driver. Expanding the zip file will give you the 32 and 64 bit drivers.
The most "Generic" drivers seem to come from the F11Y laptop series but choose from other models if this doesn't work.
Most of these drivers are pretty "Generic" so should work with a huge amount of hardware irrespective of your actual model.
HP/DELL/COMPAQ owners are usually pretty lucky as the manufacturers sites are pretty OK. It's when you buy essentially an unknown brand of laptop where you can't find the "manufacturers" site as the laptop is badged under a different name. From the link just click on the Notebook model and get the drivers.
No stupid registration or "Let's scan your computer to see what driver you need" -- and then you are re-directed to a PAY service or more adware nonsense -- I HATE those sites --what if I'm using a different computer to get the driver than the one I install it on.
