I'm trying to reinstall a game controller on Win 7 64 bit, but every time I replug the controller into a usb port it shows the previous settings. How can I remove the settings from my machine so I can do a fresh install of the game controller.
I play games in DOSBox 0.74, MAME64, and the occasional Windows 7 PC game, and I was looking for a recommendation on low cost game controllers (joystick or integrated controller).
I am trying to use an xbox controller to play RAGE on my pc, but even when I select the gamepad for use it does not work. Yet, the xbox controller buttons are displayed for the mouse, eg A instead of E for interaction. I am probably missing something really obvious, but I am not terribly pc literate. What should I do to use the gamepad?
I have this USB Sega Saturn game pad that I have been using for years now. It is a USB 2.0 device. Recently it has only been working when plugged in to one particular usb port. If I plug it in to any other usb port, it says "unknown usb device" and the driver install fails. I want to get it to work in all usb ports on my computer, particularly the ones in the front, for obvious reasons.
1. Turn my computer off and then on again.
2. Unplug the controller, uninstall the drivers, and plug it in to a different port. Still get the same error.
3. I plugged it in to every single usb port on my laptop and it works flawlessly. This includes usb 2.0 and 3.0 slots.
4. I tried switching other usb devices, such as my mouse, to other usb ports, and they work flawlessly. Both my desktop and my laptop are running windows 7 x64.

How can I rename a game controller in Devices and Printers? I have a saitek p2500 rumble pad controller that the computer is picking up as Cyborg Force Rumble Pad for some reason. I've reinstalled the software for a million times and the programming software for it is also picking it up as Cyborg Force Rumble Pad. Cyborg Force Rumble Pad doesn't exist anywhere on saiteks website. The .INF file nams it saitek p2500 rumble pad. I'm using the latest drivers for the controller. The blue light used to be real bright a few times along with the correct name.
So I just got this Xbox 360 controller for gaming and downloaded the hardware at the Microsoft Hardware web site, but when I go to activate it in the "game controllers" option in the control panel, the icon doesn't show. So I went on the internet trying to find some way to get around this whole thing. I found a post on this web site that was very useful and it took me to device manager where I followed the step by step instructions to install the driver, but when I tried to install the driver on my PC it would say: "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it." Then it says: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
I just got the "No Audio Device is installed" message for the second time, and my Sound, Video, and Game Controller section on my Device Manager pulled a Houdini on me. I can't remember what i did last time to fix it, but I've tried everything that people have suggested on multiple threads concerning this. It was literally working last night as i was listening to music, today when i turned it on it said i had no audio output installed. I have an HP Pavillion dv9500. I upgraded from Vista Home 32-bit to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, but never had a real problem until now. I tried to find the driver on the HP site, but the driver didn't work. I've even tried to restore my computer to a week ago when i got a system update, but it keeps failing. There is also an exclamation mark on the Coprocessor under Other Devices in the device manager.
I am using acer aspire 7220 laptop with Win7 OS. I found a red cross near my volume icon and I see "No audion output installed" message. Also, When I checked in my device manager there is no sound, video and game controller. I see only three devices which are marked with yellow symbo. I have looke several forums regarding this issue but none solved the problem
I recently plugged in a gamepad I had used on my old (vista) computer. Windows installed drivers that sort of worked but weren't as functional as my old ones. I copied the gamepad's DLL/instal folder over to this (7) computer and tried to register the dlls. Regsvr32 gave me the error: The module "name and location of dll.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "name and location of dll.dl" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.None of the .exe files seem to do anything.I can't find the original installation file on the internet anywhere but the old driver name/version was: "TWIN PS TO PC CONVERTER Driver Version: 3.51(2007.01)"
i disable alot of devices in dev manager in order to achieve the best latency for a live audio rig. i also use the same laptop for alot of other generic activities in which i want all devices active. since the removal of "hardware profiles", i have not figured a way to boot into the same OS with different device manager settings. i was wondering if i created a 2nd boot partition, could it access the single OS that is on my hard drive? 1 OS, 2 boot configs?
how can i change my pc controllers configurations for example my pc recognize button 3 as button 2 and so on..i opened the controller configuration panel but when i press button 3 it shows button 4...
I know there's an option to "tell" windows to use less memory that it have by configuring the MSconfig. But is there a way to create dual boot with 2 memory configurations? One with 4GB and the second with 8GB?
I'm buying a new system, so I will have to make a fresh install of windows. I spent many hours customizing windows and editing settings... Would it be possible to save those preferences and restore it to my new win7 installation? For example, I made a custom theme for windows 7, I know I can save and export it, then import it on the new windows7 installation. But what about other settings? Like everything in the control panel.
I currently use an old Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card in my system. Worked wonders under XP (What didn't, honestly) and upgraded recently to Windows 7. My sound in Windows 7 works great, all speakers emit their proper sound in their proper positions and when I play games, I can hear everything like I did in XP. Someone sneaking up from behind has no clue that I can actually hear them. -.- Anyways, to my point...
Front Left becomes Rear Right, Center Becomes Front Left, Front Right Becomes Center, Rear Right Becomes Front Right My Rear Left Makes No Sound And Sub Becomes non-existant!
This all happens just after a quick *Pop*, and suddenly someone speaking dialogue in front of me sounds like he is behind me! The only way I have found to fix it is to open my Creative console (I use Game Mode (Entertainment proves just as problematic)), set my speaker configuration to 2.1, then set it back to 5.1 and the sound works properly again! But, wait about another half hour, *Pop*, back to messed up configuration.I have an XP partition, works fine under it with no sound re-arrangement,Figured It was my speakers, Bought a new set, does the same thing.I've checked the cables: Everything is as they should be and placed correctly Does this in OLD and NEW games, as well as iTunes and WMP.
When I install a game in Windows 7 and Windows recognizes it it dumps the game's shortcut in the Game folder of the Start Menu. That wouldn't be a problem except Windows 7 prevents the game from creating the shortcuts it would have created had the operating system not been Windows 7- things like the game's Read Me, Uninstaller & Configuration options.
I found this site while browsing on my iPod. Now why would I have to use my iPod when I have a beautiful new computer sitting in front of me? Well as the title says. I remember playing this game very very long ago. In the game, I was playing a ninja, and looking at the ninja from bird's eye view. There was many chapters in game, and if I remember right, at each end of the chapter, I had to kill a boss, more powerful monster. There was an old man with a beard, and he was giving me lessons, truths about some ninja stuff, life, etc... After finishing the game once, a better mode would be unlocked. We were a more powerful ninja, and able to kill monsters more easily. And it didn't have magnificent graphics, it was like a cartoon.
