I have Windows 7 Home Premium.In repairing the flashplayer problem, I must have disabled whatever system administrator privilege there is which allows one to click on links within word documents, websites, email etc. to go to other web pages. It now comes up with a message box which states "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effecton this computer. Please contact your System Administrator".How do I renable this capability in Outlook, etc.?

Apr 13, 2012I installed Windows 7 SP1 64-bit on a Toshiba laptop which used to have Vista 32-bit on it.Yesterday I put in all the Toshiba drivers and ran chkdsk and am pretty sure it was ok.I ran chkdsk tonight and got a message that was so quick I can barely read it, but on reboot at the end it says "A disk checking has been scheduled. Disk checking has been cancelled" which comes and goes very quickly.In BootExecute in the registry it seems OK and shows it as "autocheck autochk*".

Feb 27, 2012On the backup and restore management screen, it says �backup cancelled�. I had setup on a regular weekly schedule. Go to manage backups, I see backups through out 2011. The last one 12/2011. The last backup field says �Never��yet backups exist. Short of it, I cannot find the reason backups would not run. Windows has an extremely poor ability to view just what is going on with backups. Assuming it might be a space issue. I deleted all but a few of the last backups in manage backups, and reset the schedule so backups would run overnight. This morning, same results, backup cancelled. So�I clicked on �Backup now��and it runs to completion successfully. The last back field was updated with today�s date/time.

Jan 3, 2013I've updated every time windows has told me to, and I haven't had any problems and they usually finish really quick, but this time it's stuck on the start up screen and just says something along the lines of "update 20 of 76 don't turn off the power or unplug" but it's been installing update 20 for 3 hours so I turned it off. Well actually I took the battery out because pushing the power button did nothing. Probably not the smartest thing to do but I was desperate. Even after it turned off, it just resumed the update. I can't do ANYTHING while it's updating, and I don't even know if I downloaded this update because I remember seeing a tray icon that said "downloading updates: 0%" not long ago.

Oct 17, 2011I am using Windows 7 - Home Premium 64bit. There is only one user on this machine which is Administrator and this computer is not connected with any networks. I am trying to move all of User's folders to D: drive. I have successfully moved, My Pictures, My Documents, My Videos, Contacts and other folders but when I try to move "Desktop" folder, it gives me an error message at the end of the operation (after coping all the data to the new location) that "Folder Redirection Failed", "Operation was cancelled by the user". I have tried to change the location several times for this Desktop folder but every time I do it, I get this error message.
Now situation is... Data from my Desktop is present in its default location but also copied to D:UsersMyNameDesktop folder. Means, exactly the same data is placed on two different locations but default Desktop location is still at C: drive. Why I am unable to change my Desktop location? I am trying to change the location by right clicking on Desktop folder in User's folder, then Properties and then Location tab. It's exactly the same way by which I moved all of my other User's folders successfully.

Until now i used to have only hdds on my systems, I used to partition them usually like this: c:windows d:various program files and user folder e:graphic programs and their scratch f:games g:storage (projects, videos, pictures, etc).i have decided to get an ssd drive now because I understand that it boosts the overall performance of the system. All the other information that I read about ssd was either irrelevant or too complicated to understand.I am looking for an advise on my new build. Obviously I will use the new hdd for storage but about what I should do with the ssd I am not entirely sure.First of all, should I make partitions on it or this will affect the performance?Second, except for the win system files what should I put on it? Will graphic programs or games benefit from that or should I install them on the hdd? I also read that I should put the temp folders on the hdd for brtter performance is it correct?
