Firefox Browser Warning Unresponsive Script - Force Close
Jan 12, 2013
firefox browser (channeled thru sandboxie) is plagued with script dramas on just about all websites e.g. facebook, Internet and so on. the pages do not respond until much time passes to alert me to a script problem, eventually forcing me to close the browser.
e.g. "warning unresponsive script. a script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. you can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete."
I have FF 17. The mouse is freezing in facebook & I find the only escape to release the browser is reboot. The same FB page works fine in internet explorer.
I'm installing some adobe software, which, for some reason, requires chrome to close. When I close chrome.exe, I get this error:This only happens to the main chrome.exe process, not the browser, extensions, etc.
This is starting to drive me nuts sometimes. I remote into my desktop at home from work sometimes and depending on applications, when I go for a reboot or shut the PC down, it hangs and I can't remote back in. A few days ago I waited 5 hours and had to go home to click "Force shutdown" on the prompt that Windows 7 had waiting for me.
why does my laptop ask me to force close programs when loging off or shuting down, This usually happens when it has being on for long time (12 hours+) it will run really slow so i close any programs and log off and then i get the force close message. is this bad for my loptop and prevent this i want to look after it properly
I am trying to forcibly end a protected program in the windows 7 cmd (taskkill /S system /U domainOwner /F /PID) and it is telling me that the rpc server is unavailable. How to forcibly & permanently delete/cripple a program.
is there a way to force Windows 7 to unload/close/kill (last resort) applications from the virtual memory even if the gui & any icon disappeared from the desk-task bar, when i closed them ?
Facebook is keeping me logged in even after i close the browser (Firefox 6.0.2). and yes the option to keep me logged in is NOT selected.
EDIT: just found out that the problem is not Facebook, but Firefox. It also keeps me logged in to my mail accounts, even my school account, and i haven't changed any settings in Firefox.
might be more of a computer problem than firefox, i just closed firefox and opened up the task manager and without a firefox window open the process was still running.
My computer is very unresponsive with hangs which can last up to several minutes where nothing is clickable, the mouse is movable, I can hover over desktop icons and see the outline register, but when I click, for example to open my computer, it will start the freezing.Task manager does not open, saying with an error message:"Failure to display security and shut down options The logon process was unable to display security and logon options when ctrl alt delete was pressed. If the operating system does not respond, press ESC or restart the computer by using the power switch."I checked performance monitor and there is no noticeable hardware issue, which makes me believe it's either the PSU or motherboard. I took out the ram one by one and tested the system and the same thing happens. My most likely guess is that the power supply is failing, and this is just early symptoms of that. I already had a power supply fail on this computer 2 years ago, but at that time it would shut the computer down unexpectedly.I removed viruses, spyware, and did all the basics. This is a fresh system install.
Basically, all of the icons on my desktop, as well as my entire taskbar, including the windows icon, have disappeared. It happened about 20 minutes ago, when I forced firefox to close via task manager. After I hit End Process, the icons and my taskbar disappeared. I can't right-click my desktop either. However, my desktop background, as well as the toolbar on the top is still there, and all of my programs as well as explorer are accessible. I've done one cold restart, and nothing changed. I've gone into the control panel, but I couldn't access anything associated to the task bar, and my windows key does not work as well.
when I shut down my machine, I'll go back a while later and it's still running. The screen will say that it's waiting for me to close Firefox. If I choose Force Shutdown, it warns me that I'll lose any unsaved data. In the past when I ran WinXP, I would only get this msg if I had an open file that I hadn't saved changes on. So as long as all my files were saved, I could have 10 programs open and Windows would shut them all down automatically when I shut down the computer. My work computer runs Win7, and it will do the same thing. I searched online and found a way to force shutdown, but will that shut down the computer even if I have an unsaved file in Word or Excel or whatever?
I use Firefox ... you said that cleaning registry is not a good way to ensure faster loading. What do YOU recommend? I heard that toolbars (Yahoo, Google, Bing etc.) slow down a computer. In FF I only have Yahoo toolbar installed.
windows 7 is breaking my ballz once again this time it's the default browser
-I use both firefox and ie-64bit
-firefox is configured to check it's the default browser and ie-64bit not
-whenever I reboot firefox it complains it's not the default browser
-if I launch firefox as normal user it fails making firefox default
-if I launch firefox as zdmin it makes firefox default but only during the firefox session, as soon as firefox is closed it will be removed from default browser
-I have the same problem with ie-64bit if I ask it to be default
When i get connected it open directly to internet explorer.I have already installed firefox as my default browser(control panel) but still internet explorer appear first. What can i do to ?
I d/l and installed Firefox to see 'what it's all about'. I liked it. However, one day I was downloading some files and closed the browser. I noticed that when I did this all downloads terminated and left me with incomplete files. Since IE has never behaved this way I was most upset and gave Firefox the boot. This was many versions ago and am wondering if it still does this.
My computer has been running slow for months, but it is now getting to the point where it is almost unbearable. For example, just clicking on a folder to open it can take up to 15 seconds to respond. It also lags a ton during internet browsing.
My two min browsers at the moment are waterfox & chrome..As the title says, Im on a x64 version of Windows 7.Has anyone any advice for me on the best versions of Firefox/Builds of Firefox for a x64 windows?same with Google chrome.
The definetion of an EXPERT was "anyone more than 25 miles from home" not sure about that.If memory serves me I used to be able to open more than one copy of the Microsoft IE Browser, however am unable to do that now. Am I imagining thing that I did that before or is there a problem with that?
I'm having problems in my computer which I'm failing to identify. The symptoms: Computer turns unresponsive. It seems like a windows explorer crash or maybe a hardware problem, but I don't know how to be sure of which.
I recently updated to Firefox 18. If I go to Windows' Control Panel and then click on "Uninstall a program", both Firefox 18 and Firefox 15 show up in the list of programs. Should I just leave it as it is, or should I uninstall Firefox 15?
By the way, I updated to Firefox 18 through Firefox's update feature, if that helps.
My EEEPC 1201N laptop is unresponsive after a few minutes after loading my desktop. It's running on Windows 7 Starter. Before this happened, I saw a message just after the boot display and before the welcome/log-in screen something like: C:Windows....Registry..I can't remember what exactly it was because I thought it was just an update (but it was the first ever type of message update I've seen compared to previous update messages).I did a system disk check scan, and no errors were found. I also did an avast! boot system scan and the log was:File C:UsersAsus EEEPC 1201NApp DataLocalTempkB9fdCry. exe. part| >Quick Time. msi |>QuickTime.cab|>QTInfo.exe Error 42127 {CAB archive is corrupted}Cyber link temp update file was infected by "Win 32: Trojan-gen." I experience the OS crashed for a few times, but this is the first time it became unresponsive.I would like to know how can I detect whether other system files were corrupted/infected that causes the OS to be unresponsive and fix the issue.
My notebook suddenly became unresponsive. I looked in Task Manager and found 99% of the CPU cycles were being consumed by MSE.Should I say Goodbye to MSE? What would the replacement be
i have an acer laptop and i have 3 usb ports. 2 of the 3 work, the other doesnt pick up any devices i plug into it. i can still use it to charge things, but it wont open them and the devices work properly in other drives and computers. but since it is delivering power, im thinking its some kind of software issue. is there a way i can fix this without buying any expensive software?
So last week I received my brand new HP Envy 15, with a Core i5 540m (2.5-3.3ghz) Ati Radeon 5830, 4gigs of DDR3 ram, and a 500gb HDD. (Of course running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.) And everything was running awesomely- Until yesterday when I went to turn it on and when it got to the login screen everything on screen was gigantic, and my keyboard and touchpad were unresponsive.
I tried using a usb keyboard and still no luck. Booting into safemode yields the same results, even without networking. Yet when booted it up disabling driver signature enforcement, it worked fine, except everything was slow and my sound didn't work. Is there any way I can boot up regularly again and get my sound working?
Lately I have been facing this problem of mine that is bugging me for probably a month of so. Occasionally (yes occasionally, this does not happen all the time) , my computer would just turn "unresponsive" when I attempt to shut it down. To describe it, the computer just would not respond to the shutdown/restart command, and in a while my computer's theme would just change to the CLASSIC THEME(sometimes it wont, but most of the time yes), which I have no idea why. If i were to try to put it to sleep, the computer would just go to sleep and would not respond to any of my computer's commands if i try to turn it on, which renders me no choice but to force it to power off by cutting the power supply directly. To further describe it, I am still able to move my mouse, open up the start menu, type in stuff in the search bar, but i would be unable to open up any programs. So far I have been encountering this for quite a few times and I have no idea how to rectify it. I basically just power off whenever I encounter such situations. Anyone here knows how do I stop this?
Yesterday after booting my laptop, I filled in my log in details. They were submitted correctly and the Welcome screen appeared whith the loading circle. Then the screen went black and all that was left was a responsive cursor switching between its normal and loading skin.I must have rebooted ten times, and the same results have appeared. I managed to login after an hour one time but that just wont do.
