I am very new to computers and have just purchased a dell lap top with windows 7.
Every time I start up I get a message saying "error loading dll file dell support centre common". I have clicked yes to run script to enable me to continue, but would love to stop this message appearing every time I swith on.
I get a "error loading DLL" message several times when on line.

Just those white letters on a black screen, nothing else. I have had the computer for about a year and a half, and have not recently loaded anything new onto it.
The only thing I have found I can do is press F2 when the Asus logo pops up and this takes me to BIOS setup utility.
When I turn on my computer it comes to verifying dmi pool data and after about 10 seconds it says error loading operating system. than i restart my computer and it boots normally. it happens over and over again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been trying all day to dual boot using the tutorial and no success.
I have windows 7 install on my computer. I want to have windows xp.
Now I have shrink my hard drive so I have 2 partitions now. Ok the problem is When I boot xp I goto install on D:/ the new partition it then copies all the files to that hard drive all good so then it wants to restart which is normal.
Then When it reboots it will say error loading operating system or just nothing.
Then I cant even Run windows 7 I have to delete that partition on windows xp and then put windows 7 and repair startup and Im back on again. It has to do something with the boot loader or something because I reckon Its trying to do start windows 7 but there is xp trying to install it self. Im not sure but I think I have tried every idea.
So I tried installing Windows XP Professional alongside my existing Windows 7 Home Premium as a dual boot, but when my PC restarted following XP's text-based installation phase, I got the annoying "Error loading operating system error. I've tried:
- Using the Windows 7 Startup Recovery feature from the Windows 7 DVD, but it didn't work.
- Deleting the incomplete XP partition. That hasn't worked either.
- Using the Windows XP CD to enter Recovery Console and run fixmbr. Unfortunately it asks me to log into my Windows 7 installation using the Administrator password, which is wrong every time I enter it. So I can't do that either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with Windows 7 64-bit loading the desktop, I get and error message that goes some thing like:
AsusSetup
C:userslucappdataXXXXXXXXXXXX.inf is lost!
I believe it is related to the chipset driver. I have already reinstalled all of the others but the chipset driver setup app will not run properly. If I run the old one it just prompts for a restart and doesn't do anything, if I run the new one it just claims I am using an unsupported OS. Is there any way to remove the chipset driver from the device manager or some other location? I am unsure of which one it is. I'll try to get a screenshot next time.
This issue just popped up out of nowhere it was running fine one day and the next this.

Portal 2 starts up normally, gets to the loading screen where it says Portal 2, then Crashes/Blue Screens the Computer
I had to mess about getting rid of the virus but it left residual files that were causing me even more problems. One of those files, veawi.sys, refused to go away as everytime i tried to delete it i would get a message stating that "a device attached to the system is not working" or something along that line.
Anyway, i tried to get rid of it by installing Windows XP to a USB hard drive that i have lying around so that i could use the command prompt to delete the file from the windowssystem32drivers directory. That didn't work as i would get the message "NTLDR is missing" and my Windows 7 installation wouldn't boot either as i'd get the message "Error loading operating system". To add insult to injury i found, after using the installion disc for Windows 7, that i could have just used the command prompt in the repair section of the disc which allowed me to get rid of the culprit file.
I've tried running the startup repair from the Windows 7 disc and it states that there are no errors found. For the first time in ages i'm stuck and i get the feeling that i'm going to have to reinstall Windows 7 all over again.
I checked the forums and could not find my specific issue.
The other day, I successfully installed Windows 7 Ultimate (full version, clean install) on my primary "C" partition and everything worked. Now, I believe I have a corrupt OS. When I attempt to boot normally, I receive an "Error loading operating sytem" message. The Windows 7 installation CD is detected, and begins booting, but following the "loading Windows" screen no options are displayed.
Here is what I did to cause this issue:
-I had an old external drive not compatible with Windows 7, so I decided to try and install XP onto a secondary partition.
-In order to create this partition during the installation, I deleted my "E" partition which I had previously locked with BitLocker. I left my "C" partition (System Rese) and "D" partition (with Windows 7) in tact.
-I began installing Windows XP. Upon reboot, I received my first "Operating SYstem Not Deteced" error.
-I tried booting from my WIndows 7 CD to see what was going on, but following the boot from the CD, the installation program stpped running before any options were displayed. This occured after the "Starting windows" message was displayed.
-I tried booting from the Windows XP install CD. This CD boot properly. I deleted the partition I had attempted to install XP on.
-I tried booting normally, and "Operating SYstem Not Deteced"
-I tried booting from the WIndows 7 CD again and "Operating SYstem Not Deteced"
At this point, I am considering loading from the XP CD and deleting all partions with hopes for a fresh Windows 7 installation.
Anything else I should try before deleting my partitions?
I am using windows 7. When load itunes 10.5 I receive message system has not been modified.

Received error: Quote: Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more info. I don't know how to get to the logs, but what does this message mean? I have tried almost 6 or 7 times and even once with my 7 Home edition disk. Ran the startup repair a couple times. Tried formatting the drive from my XP Pro sp3 disk.So now here's where the real problem comes in: ERROR LOADING OPERATING SYSTEM. Now I can't get back into XP! Tried booting from ERD Commander 05, but I get an error code 4096 with that, and "File SETUPREG.HIV could not be loaded".How can I get XP back to booting properly? Maybe it's a faulty hard drive and needs returning. But it is extremely important that I get this computer back up and running immediately.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I came home from work to a black screen that said "Error Loading OS". Not sure how this happened, so I restarted it and it came right back to that. Spent a few minutes digging around and found out that my hard drive was not set in the BIOS as a boot drive (although no idea how that changed), so I switched it back and the computer booted fine.Today, I come home from work and again, I see the black screen that says "Error Loading OS". I restarted, went in the BIOS, and saw that of 4 hard drives in the system, only 1 (non boot) showed up. This is weird. I shut down for a few minutes, booted it back up to the BIOS, and my primary hard drive was listed again. Selected that, and Windows booted up fine.
Was using the computer for about an hour when everything just froze. The mouse still worked and moved, but nothing else at all was working. So I restarted again, and I got to a "Windows failed to start" / 0xc000000f error. Off to the BIOS again, where again, only 2 or 3 of my 4 hard drives were listed. I shut down, left it for a few minutes, rebooted back, and selected my primary drive again. Then I went ahead and created an image of my primary drive just in case.I have no idea wh thought it might be a hard drive failure, or it could be something messed up in my motherboard. I have a 64GB Crucial M4 SSD drive that is less than a year old, along with an ASRock Z68 PRO3 motherboard that was bought at the same time.
I have built a new PC, I had it working at the start. for couple of days. i started then to update and install drivers off the chipset support disc. I have a ASUS P5G4IT-M, the installion of these drivers seemed to go alrite. Then when I downloaded the updates through windows and tried to restart the PC it wouldn't restart. i tried repairing the error. The first time it said windows had repaired the errors but it still didn't work. so i tried it again, it keeping saying that I recently attached a device to the computer, such as a camera or portable music device. which i didn't. then i says remove and restart. When i restart after the windows repair it goes down the list of files loading in safe mode and it stops when loading some of the drivers. Is there some way of clearing this error or wiping the memory off my hardrive and loading windows again onto the PC??

I have a Dell XPS 430 that came with Windows Vista and a Windows 7 upgrade disk. I set up my main hard drive with Windows 7 on one partition, Linux on another partition, and a third partition for storage. I recently needed more space for Windows, and no longer needed Linux, so using the Windows 7 disk manager I deleted the Linux partition and extended the Win partition using the newly unallocated space.
Upon restarting my machine, I am no longer able to boot into windows but instead am presented with the message:

I have a Windows 7 disk that I am using to access the repair utility, which I have run countless times. I have tried severel of the tutorials to rebuild BCD and FixMBR, etc etc. Frankly I am getting lost in all the commands and not even sure what does what anymore!
One particular site that is not loading at all, on any browsers on my computer is [URL]. There are many more that fail to load as well. I did test these sites on my iPhone with no problems though. There are a handful of other sites that do open but do not load properly [missing images, ect.] I also thought that it might be malware but I installed & scanned my computer with four different programs which did not solve the problem. I'm guessing that it still may be some problem on the software side with settings but I can't seem to figure out where to look. BTW, I've been using Microsoft Security Essentials as my antivirus program for the past couple of days now. Prior to that I was using Avira but it seemed to be giving me problems so I uninstalled it and installed the Microsoft app.

After a long wait it will eventually display boot from cd/. When I boot from my windows dvd my os is not shown in system recovery. View 7 Replies View RelatedUntil yesterday I had two different versions of Windows installed on two different hard drives, one on C: and one on E:. Yesterday I decided to remove the one on E: and started using CCleaner to just wipe the drive clean. I stopped in the middle and decided to format the disk instead because it was going to take a few hours using CCleaner's wipe. But by then Windows was having trouble with that drive and although it was detected, I couldn't format it or do anything to it for that matter.So I downloaded a copy of Natty and running it from the disk, I was going to try formatting it from there, but it was not detecting that drive. Fine. I understand there is a way to mount the drive and I just have to figure that out.

Had similar issue with previous computer and used Windows Transfer to move evrything off that to new Acer. Seems to be getting worse. Use Qwest DSL hard connection. Can VPN to work ccomputer and bring up the web sites that won't load locally. Have tries variuos scans and nothing is found. For instance can get into US Bank site and Vanguard, but not Tax Act or Fidelity.

Problem: Internet Explorer 9 and also Firefox 5 do not load web images. Strangely though, Google Chrome seems to work. Attached you will find some screen captures. I think both were done before the browsers were updated. So far, I've updated the browsers to the newest version, and updated java to 6.26.

Strange thing has started happening, i have upgraded to 100MBb broadband and i am connected via Ethernet and speed test showing average 94mb. yet random web pages links i click in Google open in an new window but the page will not load, never happened before when i was on 50mb, i have run anti virus and spybot which found maybe 1 or 2 things but it has not resolved the issue,
View 14 Replies View Relateda week ago the IE stopped loading pages, i have also firefox installed which is working fine. googled the problem and show a suggestion to reset the IE (tools - internet options - advanced - reset). but this option was in grey. i tried tune up utilities to fix the win but it didn't heventually i removed the IE9 (control panel - programs and features...). the problem was solved or so i thought. the problem came back again in the next time i run ie8. i tried to re install IE9 but the problem was till there. i removed again the IE9 and again i thought the problem solved but it came back in the next time i run ie8.
