View 5 RepliesMy wife's laptop broke down a few months ago, and we wanted to get some files off of the hard drive. I grabbed an extra eSATA cable and connected it to an extra port on my desktop motherboard... without remembering to connect it to the power supply. Anyway, when I booted up the machine, I was unable to get past the BIOS, getting an error message "Keyboard Error or No Keyboard Present". Even after shutting down and removing the hard drive, I'm still getting this error message. We've tried a number of different keyboards and it's coming up the same every time.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install windows 7 on my intel D945GNT board. I am doing the clean installation is gooing smooth upto the "completing installation" step. Once it reaches that step after that its refreshing first time. Then it is hanging there.
I am not able to figure out the problems from the previous threads. I don't have any ethernet connection to that PC and even there is no graphics card expect the on board card.
Previously I was using vista, but now I am not able to install vista also. If I install vista also in the same place the installation getting stuck.

I wish to find out if this is correct and if so, which versions are restricted? I use Photoshop and play HD video files up to 2GB in size, so I want to ensure switching is performed for improved graphical performance. Based on this finding, I can then decide what O/S to buy with a new laptop I'm about to purchase.
I am trying to install the latest audio driver for the Intel® Desktop Board DG965SS under Windows 7 Beta x64.

However, when it goes to configure the driver I get the error:
Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again.
I get this running the installer in normal and compatibility modes.
Any help on how to get around this error, or a point in the right direction for the correct driver would be greatly appreciated.
I am building two servers with identical hardware ... Intel S5520HCT mother board, dual Xeon E5607 2.26GHz, Seagate SATA 2TB drive, 8GB Crucial memory and OCZ Agility SSD drives. I am using the onboard video and motherboard has been update with the latest BIOS.
But when I install Windows 7 Pro 64 to 50GB partition on the SATA drive, or to a single partition SSD ... the system hangs after the final reboot right after "Updating Registry" and "Starting Services" during the "Completing Installation" phase. The next input should be username and computer name ... but it never gets to that.
I have minimum hardware attached ... disabled networking in BIOS ... and tried with a number of different memory configurations ... etc .. etc ... but still the same result .. and I am now totally clueless. I even tested all my hardware on a Tyan S7025 board ... and there it installs without any issues.
I recently rebuilt my pc with a gigabyte ga h77m d3h and core i3 2120 with 512m dedicated to on board graphics. The computer will start fine after you do the fresh install of windows 7 prof. 64 bit with the default video driver from windows. I've updated my bios using gigabyte's @bios tool and I've tried installing th drivers from the disc, from intel's website and with automatic update in device manager. Could a corrupt windows install file cause this issue? I downloaded the ISO from the Microsoft website when I bought the product key.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've made a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate a few days ago and I started to encounter the following problem after 30-60 minutes. It usually happens when I'm running a computer game (any game), I experience a sudden fps drop, even though before that, on maximum quality the game was running perfectly, becomes unenjoyable, quit the game. The CPU meter gadget shows 100%, and even after I close everything, browser, windows explorer, the best I get at idle is 70-80% and if I try to open anything at all, it becomes stuck at 100% again.
So I open task manager and go processes, put them in a descending order of processor usage, and see that they nowhere near add up to 100%, even though at the bottom the task manager says CPU usage is at 100%. Physical memory is usually around 20-60%, no problems with that. If I go to Performance tab, and click on resource monitor, I experience the same thing: the actual usage is nowhere near 100%, I can't see any processes that would explain for the performance drop, in fact the highest demanding process is the resource monitor itself. The problem persists until I restart the computer, shutting down takes much longer now.

I've tried several suggestions:
Disabling HDAC in Device Manager (High Definition Audio Controller)
Disabling Audio Enhancements in Sound>Speaker Properties
Installing the very newest drivers, including chipset drivers
Running programs in XP compatibility mode
Disabling the gadgets
I've no reason to think I've been infected by malicious software, I can't find any suspicious processes running.
"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)" Drives (2) are present but do not show in my Tree and are not usable in this state. I cannot get them to work and can therefore not update with the discs.

If A is chosen, then it goes to a screen which says, Loading files at the bottom with a loading bar, then when the bar is full, the screen returns right back to the Windows Error Recovery screen. Anyway, I am now combing through the Event Viewer + resource monitor and I came across "event 35" with the source kernel-processor-power the text associated says "Performance power management features on process or 1 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer mfgr for updated firmware" - anyway I have a bunch of these errors.
Googled for 'event 35' and found nothing - anyone have more detail on this event and how to solve it?
