i manage to turn off the aero peek but can find the way to get rid of this it takes life 5s to disappear after i moved my cursor out from the taskbar and case lag when i play windowed game.
When I hover over icons in the WIn7 TaskBar then I got (normally?) a preview of the refering window.
After having switched back and forth some other settings I could not get back this "preview". Open Tabs for e.g. the Internet Explorer are just shown as a line and not as a small mini window of the real web page.
How can I get back to the preview mode? Yes, I re-enabled "Aero" meanwhile again.
When I hover over a window in the taskbar, I only see words instead of a picture of the window; and I would like to change that. I have changed to an Aero Theme etc, but nothing is happening. I don't think I'm an admin on my computer. Please explain answers in layman's terms, I know nothing about computers.
i am running at a resolution of 5760x1080 and notice that the mouse over preview on aplications pinned to the task bar have changed to text. this problem has been going ov for some time. when i change my resolution back to 1920x1080 (16x9) it works just fine. i am using the aero theme so that should not be the problem. i think that my computer thinks i have less ram than i do. i have 10 gb of ram, soon 16, and i am only using 30pct if im not doing something graphics intense.
i have loaded windows 7 but having a problem of the taskbar thumbnail preview it does not show the live preview instead it shows the title of the window open earlier it showed the preview.
Is there any way to speed up the time it takes to close the preview window? By default, it takes about 1.5 seconds for the window to close after moving the mouse off of the icon or preview pane.Turning off taskbar animations in the "visual effects" does not shorten the time. It just takes away the animation, but, it still takes about 1.5 seconds for the preview to go away.
this dual booting. I have an extra HDD (in my PC)and I would like to test out windows 8 on. What are the difficulties involved in this process? What version of windows 8 preview should I attempt to use?
I had some trouble with my Desktop and have experimented with the themes. I have now lost the ability to show thumbnails of windows of the apps I have opened with a mouse over on the Taskbar
Until January 2012, we had Windows Vista but unfortunately our computer died so we got an a new computer with Windows 7. On Vista I used a HDMI cable 10m/30feet long to connect the monitor to the digital TV (its not a smart TV). The computer was the main monitor and the TV was secondary. I want to watch streamings from the computer on the TV so I can sit on the couch, as sitting at a computer chair isn't very comfy for long periods of time.
I'm using Word 2002 + Windows 7 and can't preview Word documents in the preview pane (although pdf's and webpages work fine). Is there anything I can do?
I do a great deal of video editing and special effects on my Windows 7 (home premium, 64bit) laptop. Many of the stock footage clips I use are .mov files and a lot of the sound files I use are .wav and .mp3. Unfortunately, these files do not preview (They don't play) in the preview pane in Windows Explorer. .mp4 videos do preview, but I have not tested anything else. All of the above mention files play just fine in the standalone WMP. Do I need to download extra codecs to make them work in the preview pane?
Is there a method/hack or a 3rd-party program that allows the user to hide the taskbar by dragging its top border line downwards, after un-locking the taskbar? I remember I could do that under Win9x.
So about a month ago I restarted my computer and when it came back on all my programs pinned to my task bar and everything that was in my start menu was gone. From there I could not unlock the taskbar and nothing would pin in either the start menu or taskbar. I researched everywhere about it. I tried unlocking the taskbar in properties and registry with no luck. I finally found some posts about how my user profile was corrupt and from there I went on and made a new profile and copied everything and BOOM it all worked fine now. Well today it happened AGAIN! I restarted my computer and everything disappeared. So I think it is still a corrupt profile, but this is the second time it has happened.
I have a client that has laptop with windows 7 Pro. He had a faulty network card, so I have added a new, usb network card. That said, He can not pin anything to taskbar or start menu. I cleared both folders of shortcuts(567 of them) but to no avail. He also has no options under his desktop Context menu for New. He is also using a roaming profile, of which I will disable next time I am there. I have a feeling that might be the issue. I did scour the internet trying all the usual suggestions, but do vaguely remember something about an entry in cache somewhere that if it is too big or corrupt, it could cause this behavior. I am unable to find that post anywhere now.I mention the network card because one post had taskbar issues until he disabled his faulty network card. I have disabled the faulty network card.
I'm running on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended installed. Everything is updated but thumbnail preview for PDF files in Windows Explorer is not working.
discovered a way to change the Windows 7 file and folder view to "List" view instead of the default Win 7 "Details" view?In WinXP, you simply went to Folder Options dialog box >> "View" tab and it allowed you to change the view for an entire drive with one click. Win 7 does not do this.much prefer "List" view, but the only way to change it is folder-by-folder which becomes aggravating after several dozen folder changes.Plus, once you have changed the file view inside of a folder to "List" view... if you change the folder name, every file and folder, no matter how deep, inside that re-named folder will return to "Details" view.hat a PITA...I have Googled this and searched for some time, but have come up with no answer, I thought I might ask the folks at Tom's and see what we come up with.
[code] Windows 7.You know how you open a folder full of photos if the folder is set to one of the "Icon" sizes it will show a preview/thumbnail of the picture.I guess I recently had my head in my armpit and did something dumb. They have stopped displaying that way. There is a square outline with the logo of the image viewer I use - Faststone.Any ideas how to get the photo previews back?
ATI Catalyst Windows 7 preview driver package - includes the Windows 7 driver, and the ATI Catalyst Control Center (with limited feature support). AMD Customer Care
I'd get mine, but, I don't have Windows Seven public beta - where is it.. (Remember they may upgrade drivers before 7 beta officially released.)
Note: This driver is provided as is and is not supported by AMD. It has not completed full AMD testing.
PS. I left the tags out because of errors - '7' too short must be 3 char. and 'seven' is too common a word! So, no 7 seven windows tags for you ...
I installed Win 8 preview on my system using Oracle VM, however it loaded the virtural HD on a disk I didn't want the VM or Win 8 preview on. Is there a way to delete all of this and get my HD space bac
I'm looking for a way to enlarge the thumbnail preview in Explorer. A person is scanning in PDF documents in large amounts and then using the thumbnail preview wants to be able to rename them from the default scanner assigned name. The current thumbnail size isn't big enough to see enough detail to rename the file without opening the document.
I had a program installed called Spiral Knights, and I pinned the icon onto the taskbar so I could quickly launch it. When I was done playing it for good, I uninstalled it and it looked like the icon was off the taskbar, but it wasn't. When I tried to put another program onto the taskbar, called minecraft_server.jar, it pinned to the Spiral Knights icon, even though SK isn't installed anymore. Wherever I try to put the minecraft_server.jar onto the taskbar, the SK program is still there, and it says if I want to pin the minecraft_server.jar onto SK.
