View 3 Replies View RelatedI am always manipulation files between several folders so I have several iterations of Windows Explorer open when my computer boots up and showing the contents of the folders that I manipulate all the time. Using XP files moved or copied into another folder always appeared at the bottom of the explorer window and that was good because although they were out of alphabetical order I always knew where to find the new files in the explorer window. They would stay at the bottom until I clicked 'Refresh' or changed the focus to another folder or shut down that explorer. Windows 7 explorer behaves differently and places new files in alphabetical order. Is there a way it can be changed so that new files show at the bottom of the explorer window?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn XP, if I opened up a folder, I could start typing and the folders/files list view would jump down according to the letters I typed in.
In Windows 7, this does not happen - the focus remains in the left panel (i.e. Favourites, Libraries, Homegroup etc).
make the focus switch to folders/files when a folder opens?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I search in Windows 7, I want to have the ability to open found folders in a new window. If I r-click, that option is not there. Is there a way to add this to Windows 7?

When I click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner of my screen, a menu opens. At the bottom of that menu is a line that says "all programs". It opens into a menu of programs on my machine.
Inside of "all programs" is listed a folder called Microsoft. Inside of it is Outlook 2010.
However, I recently wanted to send an email using Outlook 2010 by clicking on a link on a website. A window opened that would allow me to select the email client I wanted to use from a list of programs. But I can't find Outlook 2010.
When I click the Windows icon in the lower left corner of my screen & then on "computer" and then on C drive, there is listed in C drive two folders, Programs & Programs (x86). However, the Microsoft folder containing Outlook 2010 is not in either one of them.
When I did a search for Outlook 2010 on my C drive, the result said it can be found at C:ProgramDataMicrosoftStart MenuProgramsMicrosoft Office
However, I cick the Windows icon in the lower left corner of my screen & then on "computer" and then on C drive, I cannot find a ProgramData directory. So, where is my Ourlook 2010?
I don't know where to find the dump files or else i'd post that for you. I seem to only have an issue with crashing when my LAN is enabled. I'm on an HP G61-632NR laptop running Windows 7 64 bit.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFolderico lets you change folder icons to whatever you want, which is great, but I haven't been able to find a similar software for file types. I'm not looking to change the icon to every file, only certain ones that have blank thumbnails (think .bin or .gba files for example; I want to give each .gba file a custom icon, like a game cover or something, but I don't want all the .gba files I have to have the same thumbnail).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI found several instances of csrss.exe running. Looked up this file, and find it to be a legit file name for a necessary service. All fine so far.So I decide to search my C: drive for this file, just to see if I have multiple copies, and possibly one might be bogus. I pull up an explorer window, type csrss into the search box, and it finds NOTHING...Now, I can go find one instance of csrss.exe: it's in the windows/system32 folder... and when I search ONLY this folder, it shows up in the search. But when I try to search the whole C: drive, it can't find it, anywhere.
