View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7 and have various Folders on the C drive, including Pictures (C://Pictures). When I open it the folders and pictures are not there yet when I right click and look at Properties it tells me there is 17.7Gb of files. I thought I had resolved the issue by going back to the restore point for the main folder (C://Pictures) and indeed they became visible again. On checking the folder this morning they have gone again. I have the same problem with my (C://Users Documents) folder - clicking on Properties tells me there are 697Mb of docuemnts but 'hovering' the cursor I'm told only 497Mb are there & the missing folders and documents are not visible.
The problem began after picking up malware which I have successfully removed from the machine at the weekend. I did use the Restore Points to successfully restore a music folder as the same problem occurred and it is still there! The Restore Point I used has now 'moved on' so I am unable to use this facility.
I used to have vista and when I was choosing between a set of pictures I would temporarily rearrange them so I could see them all and compare. Now I can't rearrange them anymore to do this, is there another way?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust trying out 7MC on an old build before I move to a new HTPC. However, I'm having a few issues.
1. When playing .avi files, the pictures is ever so slightly out of sync. It's barely noticeable but can be quite annoying. I some suggestions about changing settings in the sharks codec options, however this made the .avi unplayable. Anyone got any ideas on this? (I am playing from network storage btw)
2. When playing .mkv files, I have to crank the sound right up on my TV. If I play .avi files, it's completely fine, but .mkv files need the TV putting to the maximum volume. Anyone know why this would be? I have the shark codec packs installed.
3. My PS3 up scales content for my TV screen, however, when playing this same content on 7MC, the quality doesn't look anywhere near as good as the PS3. Anyone know why this is? Are there settings I should be doing to support up scaling (if possible)? I am using Media browser to browse to these files. The colours also don't look that great, is it possible it could be the HDMI cable (even though I thought HDMI quality didn't really matter too much). Could it also be an overscan issue?
4. Media Browser metadata has managed to recover metadata for all but two of my movies. I think the problem is that the proper movie titles have a : in them, and obviously you can't put these in a folder name. Is there anyway around this?
5. Media Browser has only been able to recover metadata for one of my TV shows. All of my other TV shows are structured the same way, but no metadata is recovered.
6. Is there anyway I can apply a view option to all of the screens in Media Broswer. For instance, when trying to decide the season of the program, can I set them all to look like the 'detail' option in the skin, or do I have to do each one manually?
I have my library sorted like Movies > Film (year) > file.avi and TV Shows > Show Name > Season # > S01E03..System spec is Intel Core 2 Duo E6750, 4GB DDR2 Crucial Ballistix 1066MHZ RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5450 graphics card (using HDMI).
I do not know how or why but some files that I have been using were just gone when I went to find them. The files where in a word document with other files which are still there.
View 3 Replies View Relatedin windows 7 i see 3 different attributes for files, either .jpg or .mts (my hd videos)of date, date modified, date created. after i sort and batch process my pictures, all my date modified and date created get rewritten to the current date, and only "date" and the sequential files names i give them keep the order...my videos on the other hand, in a different folder, will be in correct chronological order if i sort by "date modified".so the question becomes, as i merge them into one folder, or one into the other's current folder...how do i get them all to appear in correct chronological order, as they were taken, throughout the whole year?i.e. pictures and videos interspersed. so i can do one big rename selecting all and starting with "2011CV(1000)"i've tried a bunch of batch file renames, but they rename, rather than allow me to tweak meta data, if anyone has ever been able to batch rewrite the date created, from the windows 7 describer "date" or "date modified", i think it would solve my problem, but i can't find any.

1.I can't copy and paste files , whether it's by mouse or keyboard. It seems to work on text by not files. When I try to copy and paste files it makes the noise it doe's like if you were to press an incorrect key .
2.I can't move files from one fold to another or on to my desktop.
3.I can't seem to view any pictures in windows photo viewer it just says loading all the time.
4.I went on to account settings to see if it was to do with administrative properties but I am classed as the admin anyway and even when I click on create a new user or manage user settings (anything with the admin symbol near the option) it just doe's nothing.I Have rebooted, system restored and lots of other things that people have suggested by nothing works , even on safe mode it doe's the same and on hidden admin that i unlocked. I really am stuck. I have just done a sfc /scannow and it says it found corrupted files but couldn't fix them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI imported my photos from my SDCard to my PC using Picasa 3, and everything was going smoothly... until I tried to take a look at the photos! all of the photos that I've imported using this method for some reason all became greyed out! Viewing them on Picasa3, all you can see is a grey rectangle, in place of the photos. However, when using the windows explorer folder, i can see that the photos were imported correctly (it's not just a grey box, but the actual photos), but when I try to open it (using any program: Paint, Picasa3, etc), it is still a grey rectangle instead of the photos. I tried to upload the image and send it via email, and I get the same result. In my mistake, I chose to "delete the uploaded photos after uploading" option..it's my vacation photos from Croatia I'm not sure if there were any errors when I imported it... i stepped out for a bit while I was waiting for it to import. I looked around my SD card, and looked at the "Lost.dir" folder, and copied all of what's in there.I did use Glarysoft to recover the images, and I'm using a Windows 7 laptop as my computer. Also, are there other alternatives? I did save the lost.dir with all of the photo files in it, both in my SD Card, and on my laptop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner of my screen, a menu opens. At the bottom of that menu is a line that says "all programs". It opens into a menu of programs on my machine.
Inside of "all programs" is listed a folder called Microsoft. Inside of it is Outlook 2010.
However, I recently wanted to send an email using Outlook 2010 by clicking on a link on a website. A window opened that would allow me to select the email client I wanted to use from a list of programs. But I can't find Outlook 2010.
When I click the Windows icon in the lower left corner of my screen & then on "computer" and then on C drive, there is listed in C drive two folders, Programs & Programs (x86). However, the Microsoft folder containing Outlook 2010 is not in either one of them.
When I did a search for Outlook 2010 on my C drive, the result said it can be found at C:ProgramDataMicrosoftStart MenuProgramsMicrosoft Office
