Mar 24, 2012I run Windows 7 Home Basic edition. I need to use English U.K. for all editing of text, particularly MS Word, but English U.S.International on the keyboard. How do I do it?

Windows 7 - Using 2 Keyboards With Separate Inputs Associated?
Feb 24, 2011Is it possible to get Windows 7 to use 2 keyboard BUT where the 2nd keyboard has separate inputs associated with it? This is regarding a flight simulator, where I want to use a 2nd keyboard as an input panel, effectively doubling my assignable keys. Is there some hack, 3rd part app or other way to do this in Windows 7?

Aug 5, 2009Is there a way in Windows 7 Media Center to switch between video inputs without going through the hassle of repeating the setup process?
I have an ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI Express card that can accept input from the following:
* OTA digital signals including High Def. I like the way Windows 7 Media Center integrates OTA channels with the cable channels.
* Cable input from a small STB provided by my cable company for use with older analog TVs not served directly by my main cable STB. I believe this is now the only way I'm able to get regular cable on my computer. Channel-changing is accomplished by the Media Center remote controlling the small STB.
* S-Video and audio input from my main cable STB. With this input, Media Center sees whatever the main STB is tuned to, including Hi-Def channels degraded to S-Video quality. I can even see DVR playback and record it in MC.
I can also record Hi-Def signals on my computer using CapDVHS and a firewire connection. This didn't work under Windows 7 at all until I downgraded the IEEE 1394 driver to the legacy driver. But right now this is a separate issue from my main question, which is:
Is there a way in Windows 7 Media Center to switch easily between the cable input and the S-Video input? I can do this with a few clicks in ATI's MultiMedia Center software under WinXP, but that software doesn't run under Vista or Windows 7. So I'm trying to get Media Center to do the same thing. Sometimes it's easier just to record a Hi-Def broadcast directly via S-Video to edit it for DVD than to capture via firewire and deal with conversion then.
Ideas, anyone?
Keyboard Inputs Don't Work In Some Instances
Jun 21, 2011I have one of the more odd situations I've run into, and of course it's on my computer vs one that I'm trying to repair. Keyboard inputs don't get recognized within some flash games.
Have Win7 x64 with a Microsoft Sidewinder X6, also have a Nostromo. neither will work singularly, neither will work together in several flash games. They do work in some, just not all.
Have tried to update drivers, have tried checking in device manager and uninstalling both then reinstalling each individually and they continue to do similar within those. Have a similar problem in Firefox as well as Chrome. Flash version is: 10,3,181,26
problem also exists in Duke Nukem Forever, but although the problem is similar, I think it's a distinct problem there as some inputs work and all inputs work in some instances but just in gameplay that it isn't working and allowing me to move and/or control two examples of ones that don't work, and one that does: [URL] Also works flawlessly in Battlefield Bad Company 2 and numerous other games.

Win 7 Causing Apps To Resize / Shift When Switching Inputs
Dec 9, 2009I have a hdmi switcher from monoprice that I use to switch input between my pc and my ps3. I have a dell 2407 monitor.
I just recently upgraded to win 7 from vista, but I noticed something. when I switch to ps3 and back to pc via the switcher, my app windows get re-sized, as if the resolution changed and changed back.
For example, firefox and my AIM buddy list would shift to the left and get re-sized.
This didn't happen in vista, all my programs stayed in place.
Anyone know how to fix this? I have the monitor drivers installed.
Keyboards Will Not Read Or Recognize
Sep 19, 2012For some reason the computer that I am trying to fix won't discover any keyboard that I plug it into, USB wise. I have tried multiple working USB keyboards and none of them work on the computer. It is Windows 7 for the OS. There are no PS/2 ports to try out the old keyboards. The computer recognizes all the other USB accessories like the mouse and flash drives. For some reason whenever you turn on the comp, as if you were hitting F8 to choose to boot it to safe mode, the keyboard works and you can use it to choose and option. Also, when the the computer asks you to put in the password it works then as well but as soon as it is logged in, it doesn't work anymore.

and i find that although my usb mouse is working fine, my Windows Multimedia Keyboard isn't working at all.
I tried installing the 7 beta of intellitype but no difference. Also after restarting Windows 7 it now gets stuck at the boot logo...
seems like i should download and install either 7077 or just go back to 7000..
USB Keyboards Not Initializing At Windows Startup?
Mar 3, 2012I have an ASUS Rampage II Extreme MOBO, with the lates BIOS update (ver. 2101). When I boot the Comp, I can get into BIOS and what not with keyboard (logitech G-15-original one). Problem starts when I log on to Windows. It takes over 1 minute for me to start typing or even being able to use my keyboard. I have tried other ports, still the same. I have tried other keyboards, still the same. The only one that I am able to use it a PS/2 style keyboard. All my other USB Devices seem to start up and run ok, it's only the keyboard. Also, I have tried other USB ports on PC as well.I called ASUS, they were ready to RMA the MOBO for me, which I bought back in 2009! Then he said it could be a Microsoft issue..This all started when I switched to 2x120 SSD's in a RAID 0 Configuration, but was probably like this and didn't notice because I had to wait 3-5 minutes for the computer to start up. My computer will boot up and I can get on the web in about 15 seconds now, but can't use the keyboard...

Mar 19, 2011I am about to purchase an asus laptop in Germany (with Windows 7 HP on). Now I know I can't change the system language (need windows ultimate for that) but I believe on Asus computers you can select English as the display language on the initial install (so each shop is telling me) and so i have read (which i don't really understand as why can you do this on ASus laptops only - surely windows is windows? ie you can or you can't!).
If this is true i was wondering just what will be changed into English (i.e. what exactly is the display language)? I gather the majority of menus etc will be in English, but what about if my laptop goes wrong and I have to start digging a bit deeper? Does anyone know if all the settings menus change so i'll be able toedit the registry if need be (just an example!).
Language Bar Is Gone
Jul 8, 2011I bought my computer half a year ago and ever since then there was a language bar that I could use. It worked just fine. Just recently, my computer had to recover data (pressing f12 repeatedly during startup) because of a "hard drive damage". When i finally had most of my data recovered, I found out my language bar was missing. I tried going to control panel>clock, language, and region>change keyboards or other input methods>change keyboards>languagebar. There, I made sure it wasn't on hidden and that I had picked a language. There use to be a "EN" icon on my taskbar where it let me change languages, but now it isn't there. Is there anything else i could do to make it appear/work again?

However, they would really prefer it if the OS language was in Japanese (eg when you press the Windows key instead of 'Computer' it's 'コンピュータ'). I've tried fiddling around with mine, but changing the language seems to only change it for my clock, not the entire OS. I've heard with Enterprise one can freely change the languages in such a manner, but I would like confirmation before I recommend my friend a laptop and buying another OS if it's unnecessary and changeable through some other means.
