I searched the forums but couldn't find anything that directly dealt with my problems so if this has been answered i apologize.I just built my first build and used a Dell OEM windows 7 disc I bought brand new from Software Supply Group. Everything installed fine and works great until a few days ago im getting a message saying this copy of windows is not genuine build 7601. When i enter my product key it says it has been blocked. I know its not a pirated version what can i do. I tried activating it on the phone they also said it was counterfeit . What can i do ? My motherboard by the way is Asrock 970 Extreme 3.

I keep getting this error when trying to install and exe I have tried safe mode and system restore but can get no joy I get this error message when I try system restore.
Anyone have trouble connecting to a secured network? I setup WPA security on my network and can't connect even with the key entered. At the moment I can only connect via unsecured, cause I haven't figured how to manually change security type as in Vista. I'm using build 7068 x86.
I bought two dell laptops with a free Windows 7 upgrade available. I have upgrade the first machine, but had to pay for a disc to be delivered and it took 2-3 weeks. Can I use the upgrade disc from the first machine to upgrade the second machine, or will I have licensing problems?
On my Windows 7 PCs I must type a user name to access the shares it can be 1 letter or anything is there a way to remove that so access doesn't require any type of additional input?
I slipped a dvd into my drive, carefully as usual, and for some reason, my eject button and manual eject (from computer setting) won't work. Anyone else ever had this problem?
My computer needs to have the OS reinstalled and I have a copy of Windows 7 Pro (same OS version that my Dell laptop has) but it is not the Dell Version. Will this work? No recovery CDs were made when the computer was originally purchased and, of course, they do not come with the discs anymore.
I think I have some kind of malware. I am unable to use many functions on my computer, I always get the same error message "C:windowssystem32 strui.exe. The system could not find the environment option that was entered." I can't open system restore, because I get that same error message. I think its any .exe operations that I cannot use. My malware program won't open normally but when I tried it in safe mode, it didnt find any problems.
I also tried system restore in safe mode and from the boot screen, and it told me system protection was turned off, so I tried to turn it back on and the security tab that was needed to do this was missing. I don't have the windows 7 install disc because it was a factory install. I can't install any new programs and now I keep getting error messages saying I may have counterfeit software. In the bottom right corner of the desktop it says "Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of Windows is not genuine".
I have set up a Windows 7 machine that shares out a hard drive as a network share along with printers to our network. On another computer I was mapping the network drive and accidentally entered the wrong credentials (wrong user name) and choose the remember credentials setting, and it would not let me map the drive.
I tried to go back in and remap the drive again but Windows is remembering the user name/password and I can't map it. I can map the drive from any other computer just fine. Does anyone know how to make Windows forget the credentials so I can map the drive?

There is less data in the new install, and the page file is on another hdd, in additon to the 8 core processor with 16 GB of faster ram & an 80% free 1TB HDD.
I've been trying to all sorts of different approaches to try to resolve the 33 second problem:1. Avast full scans and MalwareBytes full scans (always clean) x 58. Blowing out old restore points 9. CCcleaner Registry scrubs10. sfc/verifyonly - no problems foundBut nothing seems to work. Given that a clean boot didn't resolve the issue, I have a feeling it might be a hardware timeout, but I have no idea if that's right, or how to trace it (the stuff I google is way above my head).
Today, after a bad driver update, I decided to do a system image from a known good image that I have used once before. The image is on 3 DVD's. I inserted and ran the 1st DVD like normal, and when prompted, I inserted the 2nd DVD. That's when it happened.The screen kept saying that "No DVD is installed in the drive" even though I could hear it spinning. I clicked OK, and the message would return. I opened, replaced the DVD and closed the tray many, many times and I got the same "no DVD installed" error message.I tried and tried to no avail. So I cancelled the system image thinking I could just boot from the System repair disc that I made, but no matter how many times I try to boot from it, I get an error message, and nothing but "No operating system installed".I called Dell and they are sending me a factory Windows 7 Home Premium x64 disc that I should receive Friday................I have no clue what to do when I receive it, but I want to at least try.

when i use the F8 prompt to get into restoring my computer to factory settings. This is the first few things that confuse me as do many..First: There is no prompt in the F8 to reset to factory condition, only a option to restore image. 2nd: I try to use advanced commands to find the OS disc which i have in the D drive but it never finds it..

have a new Dell XPS desktop with Win7, and coming from XP I am somewhat confused about how to go about making a disc to reformat if necessary. There is this thing called "dell datasafe" on my computer, but it seems like some kind of stupid service that stores your pictures and such online, amongst some other things that aren't so clear. Anyway, I made a "recovery media disk" (took 2 dvd-R's) but I am not certain if this is what I really need. It claims to reset the computer to "factory conditions" whatever that is supposed to mean. Bottom line is, what I would like to be able to do in the event of a catastrophic virus, etc, is to COMPLETELY 100% REFORMAT my computer, similar to the way you delete the partition, create a new partition, and reinstall Win XP. I do not care one bit about saving files, pictures, and all that sort of thing - I just want to be able to do a clean sweep in the event that I need to.
How do you configure windows so it does not constantly delete your passwords which you enter. It gets rather madning when you log into a site you use constantly and even though the "save" button is clicked you end up putting in the information the next time you boot up the computer. Also is there any way to turn off the security pop up box which always is asking do you want to view information from such and such site on sites you have logged into and use constantly.
Windows 7 64 bit loaded on a clean formatted disc on Dell M5030. However no wifi drive or other drives are installed. Also, I cannot install any drivers I get a message need to know if you are running x84 or x64. Seems that the software isn't putting the entire programs up.
I've been trying to chase this issue for quite some time now. Randomly I experience a crash to desktop when playing Battlefield 2. Doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason, just bam!

whenever i'm typing a text on this laptop (fujitsu siemens amilo li 1818) the cursor () changes it's position randomly i.e. to: .
it is very frustrating as i need to put the cursor back in it's original place again, due to the fact that it jumps to previously typed text. sometimes it goes back a few words, sometimes it jumps up a few lines. whenever it jumps back, it jumps in between words or randomly in words like you can see on the second image.
it happens alot (the more i type, the faster it occurs again). i am 100% sure that it's not caused by me touching the touchpad while typing, as i've been looking for 10 minutes now while typing and i can't spot myself touching the pad with my hand, finger or anything else. i tried covering the touchpad with random objects such as a sheet of paper or a creditcard but the problem still occurs.
it happens in any program (firefox, internet explorer, microsoft office, notepad,...), even when i'm watching a Internet-video browsing the comments it's scrolling the page up (never scrolls down).
I have a new Dell Inspiron 620MT with Windows 7 and have just run the Setup procedures. This included the creation of 3 DVD's for Recovery Disks. My hard drive has 33 GB of content as delivered, including Microsoft Office Home and Business and several "freebies" Dell includes. The setup told me my 3 DVD's include 10.88GB, I "think" but am not sure Setup told me it was using compression to load the DVD's. What is the content of these 3 DVD's? I've called Dell multiple times and get conflicting, contradictory and changing answers to my question? I am wondering if it is ONLY Windows 7 or is it some partial or complete set of everything on my hard drive? Unrelated, Dell support sent me a flash drive of Windows 7 restore software that is "bootable." I looked at it and it contains only 4GB. That is why I am thinking there may be more content on the 3 DVD's 10.88 GB. I simply want to know what I have as a base in the way of backup BEFORE I migrate everything from my 7 year very old Dell Dimension 3000.
I had windows vista 32 bit earlier. Then I got windows 7 professional upgrade in trial period. I didn't notice how it happened. Of course it must be my mistake. Now when i boot from windows 7 it shows 64 bit and in vista it shows 32 bit. The system asks before booting which one to choose. It's today only that I have installed but I am not facing any problem as such except that i need a product key within 30 days. Should i leave as it is or uninstall vista somehow. Would i be able to reboot my system using the 32 bit vista CD?
I try to start my Dell Inspiron 5010 laptop and I get "A disk read error occurred. Press Ctrl Alt Del to recover"Every page I've Googled about this error tells me my hard drive is shot and needs to be replaced. I'm in total denial so, can this really be? Have I lost all my data? The problem started while playing a game, causing a BSOD. After a restart, I noticed some of my programs just didn't boot up, for example Core Temp. I attempted to manually start Core Temp and received the following error: "The system could not find the environment option that was entered."That problem lead me here: The system could not find the environment option that was entered. - Microsoft Answers Which, obviously, did nothing for me. I tried to create a new user, but when I click the link in the control panel to do so, nothing happens. I then tried to repair my windows installation using my disc, and it said it could not find any problems. After searching some more, I found another solution would be to perform an upgrade to my Windows installation to fix the problems.
I put the disc in, nothing happened so I went to the setup.exe directly and got the same error as above. So I then booted in safe mode, and it loaded. I got excited until it said something like "an error prevented a compliance check from completing"And just to be very clear, my windows 7 is valid, I'd be more than happy to share an image of my newegg receipt or even my box to get that out of the way, as I've seen a lot of flaming towards people who have issues regarding validity. Well that brought me to a thread on this website where someone said to open an elevated command prompt and run sfc /scannow. I tried doing that and got this error: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program, or, if one is already installed create an association in the default programs control panel."
I wanted to make a new partition on my hp laptop on the only disc it as.Unfortunately,because it came with already 4 partitions I accidentally turned the disk into a dynamic disk.Now its booting normally but I cant load the system Image that I have created before the partition.Other than that the pc is running smoothly.As I said this is the only disk on the system.Is it possible to convert the disk back to basic?After a lot of googling I found some exmples but all of them assumed you had a second disk on your system.Is it possible to convert the disk back to basic without having to reinstall windows?(I have no windows cd
I have a toshiba satellite L750 running Windows 7 home premium, when trying to burn anything onto a blank disc I get as far as selecting my items and asking it to burn but it keeps telling me to insert a blank disc (which obviously I have). I have tried several different types of blank disc but it dosnt seem to recognise any of them.
So I have an bit of an odd and I think unique problem (as many searches came up with no solutions). Simply put, my boot manager is missing, but only when my windows install disc is not in the disc drive. It started several months ago and I just left it be, let the disc it int he disc drive and it was not that big of a deal. But just did a clean install couple days ago I re-installed windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on my computer (using an upgrade disc if that makes a difference).I formatted the drive with what I guess is a quick format (the option the install disc gives you). I have tried doing a repair with the install disc but no problems are found every time I try.
Is there any way to use a windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade disc as a installation disc? Or would I have to go out and get another Windows installation disc and then use the upgrade disc?
I am working on my daughter's Presario CQ 56-115DX Notebook running Windows 7. It has been running erratically and has a lot of junk on it and no anti virus. I have tried to install several free antivirus programs and also a Revo Uninstaller with both IE, Chrome and Firefox. All Downloads are blocked (or automatically "cancelled") including your TSG SysInfo. I turned off the Firewall but that didn't help. I also did a System Recovery back to 1-30-2013 to no avail.
Recently, my Vuze, Moyea FLV downloader, and Amazon Unbox (just installed today) are unable to connect to the internet. I can't even complete the Unbox install because I get an error message every time I try to complete the setup. I've gone through my firewall and added allowances, tweaked settings, everything -- I even turned it off to see if the Unbox install would finish properly. It didn't. I still got the error message telling me that it couldn't connect to the internet. Did I break something in my logs? What's happened, here? Trillian and things like that work fine, it's just these certain programs.
When I try to run certain programs like Anki or Second Life that need access to the internet they're blocked with no message from windows, I've tried deactivating windows firewall and other security programs but I always get the same thing. I've tried creating rules for windows firewall that allow my programs to access the internet but it makes no difference. I know it's not my router or ISP because other computers in my house that use the same connection work fine.
