I have a Zotac 570 gtx connected via HDMI cable to my Asus VE258 LED monitor.I've had this video card and monitor setup working before with the exact cable, card and monitor.Something changed in my system where the monitor is no longer recognized for what it is. When i go into my Nvidia control panel under change resolution 1.Digital Display, 2. DVI-PC Display - Resolution 1080p 59 Hz. There is no DVI cable plugged into the computer and the monitor is set on HDMI input. When i go to my Audio playback devices, the HDMI connection does not show up at all, even as disabled or disconnected. When i go to play a game (Diablo 3, Skyrim, Farcry2) The game either doesn't open (skyrim) giving me the error that resolution is not recognized (but then does not give me any resolutions to choose from in the options menu) or will play (Diablo 3) but is stuck on extremely low resolutions with only 2 options.
Here's what i've done. Contacted Zotac and had them send me the most recent drivers for the video card. Uninstalled originals and re-installed the new ones. Contacted Asus (they say its not the monitor as long as its set on HDMI input) I am unable to find a driver that will make my computer (Windows 7) recognize the monitor for what it is. Zotac failed after their attempt with the driver and told me to RMA the card. So i did... i waited a month.
my logitech m205 mouse usb isnt working it says that error "usb is malfunctioned and windows cant recognize it". i tried lots of things on off reconnect i even took out the battery.
I have a D-Link USB hub (DUB-H4) and it no longer shows up in windows 7. If I plug a flash drive directly into a usb port on top of my tower it shows up fine. When I plug it into my hub nothing.I tried unplugging the hub from the computer and plugged it back in to see if it would reinstall itself but windows does not detect it.
I decided to get rid of antivirus and just turn User Account Control on (I had it off)but the problem is when I turn this on, the computer cannot recognize any usb. Nothing shows up on disk management either. And when I turn it back off it works again.
1G flash drive cannot be accessed as you might encounter if it were write protected -- tested all three USB ports with other flash drives with issue -- of course only the one that I most need -- read historical posts but not successful -- may try it on another computer that has better security in case it might be a virus issue -- did try the diskpart test and it does recognize it but with 0 storage on it
Recently my computer was taking an age to boot... repeatedly had to press start. Upon checking the internet I found that a probable cause was linked to power supply....not spinning HD fast enough to boot so I uprated to 500W... and as the computer leads were all out I took the opportunity of putting in an extra 2 Gb RAM (New and checked with Crucial as being compatible)Total 4Gb RAM Install went well.... and boot up took a fraction of the time! The extra RAM was recognised Total 4Gb, initially the Windows theme played.... then...... unable to start - blue screen re Graphics card - started in safe mode... download drivers.... Then graphics OK.... but No Audio - download new driver for Gigabyte MB..... checked Graphics card in Device Manager - Not working Code 32! I thought there must be an issue with the graphics card so I purchased and installed another. I also removed the extra 2Gb of RAM. I performed a clean install of Windows 7.... Graphics card working and drivers downloaded.... Brilliant ! Then I re installed the 2Gb RAM.... switched on nothing but a long beeeeeep foloowed by another.... followed by another .... I turned off the power, removed the 2Gb RAM and the computer booted fine! So I can deduce that the graphics card works OK (the old one probably did too!) and the 4Gb RAM is OK.... just that the 4Gb of RAM and the Graphics card do not like to work together?
When I start up I recv. a msg stating that I am not logged on as an administrator. I then have to switch users at the start menu and then no more pop up and I do have administrative capabilities.I am not that computer savy but I dont think this is normal. Other than the guest account(which is off), I am the only user. I have been through the control panel inside out and upside down. I am listed as the administrator for sure, in a group, not a domain. I also turned off the password requirement.
There are times when it is not being recognized by Windows 7(pro). It has three interface options (fire wire, esata, and USB). I have tried all three at one time or another, finally settling on the eSATA interface. When it IS recognized, it runs smoothly, with no hiccups. But when I try to shut down the PC, sometimes it hangs up on the shut down screen for a long time (more than 15 minutes at times) until I actually press the on/off button on the My Book. When I do this, my PC immediately shuts down, but then, if I start up my PC, Windows does not see it again. I then have to power the My Book back on, then power up the PC and hope that it is recognized again. Its not a big issue, because it is not frequently used, except for storing back-ups. Its just something that is a nuisance. Im not even sure that it is a Windows problem, because sometimes it is not detected in BIOS. why it is intermittently being detected and why it is hindering the shut-down process?
I noticed recently that for some reason,my USB ports aren't being identified as 2.0 ports, but I know they are. My computer is an ASUS CG5270, Specs: Core 2 Quad @ 2.4 GHZ,8 gigs ram, 750GB hard drive. I tried going into the device manager and uninstalling everything under "USB", and then restarting and replugging everything in..no luck. I found some Fix for Windows 7 SP1...no luck. Whenever I go into the Device Manager, there are two ports ( I think they're ports) listed as "Enhanced", with the rest as "Universal". I keep getting errors when I plug in my external HD that "this device could perform faster". (I also get another message telling me that the drive needs to be formatted, but it works anyway). I also get a "this device could perform faster" with my webcam, as well...
I'm having a bit of a problem with my DVD drives not being recognized. In a prior post, one of the fellows on this stream (Randy) solved the problem I'm having by suggesting that I edit the Upper and Lower Filters in the Registry. Unfortunately, I've lost this information. This time, I'll put it in a Jump Drive and lock in a safe!
I have "upgraded" my Dell XPS M1730 laptop from XP Pro to Windows 7, but my DVD CD will no longer recognise Audio Discs or DVDs. It will read the Windows 7 installation DVD so there is no mechanical problem with it. I have updated all drivers and the installed driver is listed as current. I have also installed the latest Firmware.
So I use a NES usb retropad that I connect to my laptop. When I go to the control panel I can see that it shows up but it isn't set as game controller it just says undefined for category. I know the controller works and all the drivers are up to date so I can't figure out why it wont work in any of the programs I try to using in, including any emulators or joy2key. When I try to use it in joytokey it says no controller detected but I know it shows up in the control panel.
This is a 1GB thumb drive and its been working just fine. Put some files on it with this machine with the intent of transferring to another machine (which did not come to pass).
I am getting a constant error. When the error happens I hear the usb connection alert sound and a pop box appears in the lower right corner of my screen. I tried installing the chipset drivers again and when that didn't work i did a system reinstall. The only us devices I am using is my wired mouse and keyboard. Both usb devices work.
I never had trouble with my usb mouse, but now im getting the "usb not recognized". How do i fix that? Theres no drivers for this mouse. Ive red somewhere to turn off the pc and take the battery out and stuff like that, but it seems like magic.
While working on my laptop yesterday evening, my mouse & external hdd stopped responding. On ejecting & re-inserting them both started getting this message 'USB Device Not Recognized'.Now none of my three USB ports are working. Though on cross checking, the devices are working on other machine. The message is getting flashed repeatedly. Also, observed that my battery got drained while it was switched off throughout the night. Have never faced either of these issues with almost 20months of working with Windows 7 Pro.
Ever since I moved into my new apartment a month ago I've been having problems with my USB mouse. I got a new one for christmas and the problems still persist. When i first moved in it was working ok but randomly not working then it finally gave out. Every time i insert the mouse receiver it would be like rolling the dice whether it would work or not. I've tried my tablet and my memory stick as well and those don't work either so i know its not a problem with the mouse.I've looked through forums online and have tried almost everything:I unplugged the power cord waited and plugged it back in.I've uninstalled all of the USB Root HubsI've unchecked the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save powerI've updated my ChipsetI've updated my BIOSI've tried Microsoft FixitI've installed the driver for the mouse from its website.
Yesterday i was playing mass effect 3 until i got tired and went to sleep, shutting my computer down on the way. Today, i turned my computer on, and it wouldn't boot. Then after a restart i noticed that my SSD wasn't being recognized by the marvell controller. The bios also won't recognize it. I tried replugging the sata and power cables, with no results.
I installed this USB PCI card: 5 Ports High Speed USB 2 0 PCI Card Expansion Kit 4 External 1 Internal for PC | eBay when I booted, I didn't get any alert that new hardware was installed. I think I installed it correctly into the motherboard. Is there a driver that I need to install? or it's probably becuase it is not installed correctly?
I already have multiple HDDs installed and, yesterday, added 3 new WD20EARS to the system. All three appeared to initialize correctly.
-After a reboot, only two of the new drives were recognized. In Disk Manager the third drive is/was listed as "disk not initialized". - Tried re-initializing the drive multiple times and got a couple of different errors, "incorrect action" (or similar wording). At this point the system crashed.
-After a system restore, the third drive is not visible at all. The other two new drives seem to be operating normally.
System is an i3-540, Gigabyte GA 57M USB3, Ultimate 64.
I bought a new WD scorpio blue for my hp laptop. backed up all the data on my old hard drive, removed it, and put the new hard drive in. windows is not seeing it, and i'm not sure the bios is either. please help! i'd like to use the new harddrive (bigger capacity) instead of the old, but i don't understand how to have the system know the harddrive is there.
the laptop is an hp compaq 8510w. i had Windows 7 running it on for about 4 months. the new harddrive is the western digital blue scorpio 500gb.
