DVD Contents Refresh
Dec 20, 2009I face the old fashioned problem (now) in Windows 7 Explorer that, after a data backup (imgBurn) to DVD, the new DVD contents is not displayed until I cycle the tray!?
Is there something I can do about it?

Aug 5, 2009I need a driver for an LG 32LG5700 LCD TV. Its easy enough to get Windows in the correct resolution, but if I load an older game (Civ 3 on Steam, for example), it switches the display to over 60Hz and the TV can't display it.

May 6, 2009I am using the 7100 RC x64 and all was appearing great, however i am having a problem with its memory usage. After boot and in normal use it seemed fine, however i noticed first when i copied a 3gig file that the memory usage filled up along with it as it transferred but after the copy was complete the memory stayed full and as i type this now have 60mb free and it will stay like that until i reboot.
I rinsed and repeated and tried the same with an install involving large data files and again as it installed the memory filled up and after install completed the memory is all still in use (4gb btw). I looked on the internet and i cant see anything other than people saying how good its memory management is.
Additionally i am also seeing one of my cores at 90% (Duo). I have run malicious software tools and avast system scan and i have no idea where to go with this.
Prior to this i was running vista x64 with no problems at all, can anyone offer any advice?
Refresh Rates On LCD Monitors
May 21, 2009I just picked up a new monitor. It's a Samsung 2033 SW. 1600 X 900 with a 5Ms response time. It's only giving me one option. 60 hertz. Is this normal? My other one is very similar Samsung 932 BW+. 1400 X900 at 2Ms response. It's gives me a choice of 60 or 75 hertz.
I don't think it has anything to do with the video card or driver. Perhaps the driver for the monitor itself. I have the latest one from MS update for both monitors.
Also, how much does this matter. I have been told to go with the higher rate if possible. Do any of you know if this is the norm? Does it have to do with the difference in response time?
Network Drive Won't Refresh
Oct 3, 2012I am using 2 Windows 7 Professional 64 bit machines and 1 Windows 7 Professional 32 bit machine on a wired Ethernet network.
The network works very well with one issue. When I add a new folder on one machine and try to access that new folder from another machine the new folder does not appear. I must disconnect the network drive from the machine with the new folder then map a new drive. When I map the new drive the new folder displays in Windows Explorer on the second machine.
This is very frustrating when I want to add an email attachment file from another machine and it won't display until I disconnect and re-map the drive.
Explorer Will Not Refresh Automatically?

Furthermore, none of the files previously located in that folder were there anymore either, though the folder itself was in its proper location in the file hierarchy. Dec 24, 2011I am having a problem with memory cards (SD) contents being recognized on a Windows 7 Pro machine. I am using an internal card reader, and have virtually eliminated it being a hardware problem because a new replacement unit gives the same results.The first time a card is placed in the reader after the computer is booted, the card is recognized but not the contents. In Windows Explorer, the card is designated "Removable Disk (H)". When I attempt to navigate to the contents, a window opens titled "Insert Disk", prompting that a disk be inserted into the drive.I can correct this on subsequent card insertions by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" icon in the system tray. When clicking on the specified card/device (only item showing) I am prompted that "Removable Dish (H)" is currently in use". There are no applications open including Windows Explorer. Of the choices given, (Cancel, Try Again and Continue) selecting Continue results in an indication that it is safe to remove the hardware.When I remove the card and replace it, I don't get the expected Autoplay prompt, but when I open Windows Explorer the disk shows with the same drive designation, but this time with the volume showing instead of "Removable Disk". I can then navigate and find files and folders on the card.Removing the card again and reinserting it using the same procedure the second time results in the Autoplay window opening and the contents of the card being recognized in explorer. At this point everything works as expected and will continue to until the computer is rebooted.I would like to find a way to have the volume and contents of the card recognized and the auto play window open the first attempt after the computer is booted.

Nov 17, 2011I have 7, 64 bit, running on an HP and have been keeping pretty up to date on my drivers.amd a4 3300 processor with graphics card, and 4 g ram.When trying to use menus, the window or entire screen will seem as though it refreshes, closing the menu, i can watch the bar across the top of windows flash as if it had just disappeared for a split second and the menu is gone, leaving me to reopen it, but at a second or less between these refreshes I have to be quick on the pointer to get to what I want. It seems to happen on any menu item, including all drop downs, wether im right clicking a start menu pined item, a choice dropdown on a webpage, a setting dropdown, etc. it doesnt alwasys do this but more often than not. It seems like I can sometimes restart the pc and it will work, but it often will do it right at startup. I hadnt noticed it til I connected the VGA out AND the HDMI out to the same tv (dont know why I did it at the same time, I think to compare the cropping). Also, I used system restore to go back to before a bunch of updates and it seemed to fix it, but that might just be because the pc restarted in the process.

I bought a lenovo g550 laptop a few weeks ago.
it came with Windows 7, I have downloaded all the relevant Lenovo drivers and updates
and installed all of them!
My problem is that Windows 7 recognizes the screen as generic pnp monitor and doesn't let me change the refresh rate above or beneath 60hz.
My screen is flickering in the background and it is annoying as hell!!
is it because of the refresh rate or is it something else?
I cant find drivers for the screen anywhere !!!
CS 1.6 + W7 64 Bit + CRT Monitor Refresh Rate Issues
Nov 7, 2009I just installed Windows 7 64bit to try it out and so far its a pretty nifty change from xp, however if I can't solve this problem I'll have to change back to xp.
I have a 19" Samsung Syncmaster 957mb CRT monitor, the native desktop resolution is 1280x1024@85hz , but I run CS 1.6 in 800x600@100hz usually, however when I launch CS now, with the same launch options as I had in XP, the game starts up in window mode.
If i remove -freq 100 (forcing the monitor to 100hz) in launch options, it starts fullscreen in "800x600", however if i check my monitors OSD and look at the display timings, its tells me that the current resolution is my desktop resolution (1280x1024) and the same refresh rate, 85hz.
edit: To be short, the game is supposedly in 800x600, yet my monitor believes itself to be in 1280x1024?
Currently I can't find drivers for my monitor, so it only shows up as a PnP monitor, but this shouldn't be a issue, and my nvidia drivers are up to date.

Extremely Slow Screen Refresh
Mar 23, 2009Windows 7 is unusable " for me" with the current ati drivers for Windows 7.
The screen refresh rate is like once every 5 seconds. with vga drivers everything works fine.
I have the current build. it's just when i turn on the ati card everything is extremely slow.
anyone know what the problem might be?
