Using Event Viewer/Applications I was getting 5 error events each day. This had to do with a "search" for a file on an external HD. I have just formated the HD and now I get "Warnings" about the the same files. The HD is now blank.

I am baffled by the sheer number of warnings within Windows Explorer, the PC I am using is an entry level workstation, most of the parts are fairly recent, it has been a year I had purchased this machine. Upon starting up the windows, I get this dwm.exe Bad Image Error (Picture Attached in the Bottom).It says: C:WindowsSystem32dxgi.dll error. I have searched over the net and they suggested me to restart pc in safe mode, but nothing happens after I do so.The same Error pops up when I open Photoshop CS5 and also when I try open/saving a file using Windows Directory System from any application. My OS is x64 so are a bunch of programs, like while opening Photoshop it will say; "C:Windowssystem32EhStorShell.dll is either not designed to run to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original media contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support." As soon as I click ok the program works fine, but facing this annoying popup box every time I fire up a program or windows is irritating.I want to know if there are any permanent solutions, I heard it's a fact that you have to format and reinstall your Windows almost every year, is that true? I have installed critical programs with addons, is there any way that I can avoid reinstalling my windows and not face these annoying dialogs?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm just doing my usual thing today on my laptop and suddenly all these warnings started popping up from AVG (my AV) They keep asking me whether or not to let this EXE (see title) from having access to the internet. I let it but it still pops up. It's located in the Windows folder on the main hard-drive, but if I search "iqagoa.exe" in Google there's only TWO results, neither of which are related at all. What is it? Is it a virus? Can you see it in your Windows folder. If it makes any difference, it mainly popped up when I was using Photoshop. And yesterday I switched to MSE AV but then switched back to AVG as it was really slowing down my system...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a HTPC which includes an ASUS mobo/cpu combo (fanless, smart BIOS, etc). The case is mini ITX with a single case fan. As it is this machine runs really cool since I have no moving parts other than the storage HDD (OS is on SDD).What I ended up doing was move the case fan power plug to the "Chassis1" fan header on the mobo because the BIOS offers more tunability controls for chassis fans than it does the "CPU" fan header.Problem is now, I get popup alerts in my sys tray from the BIOS manager that CPU FAN IS DISABLED or NOT OPERATING.Is there a way I can jumper this power header out with a resistor or something to fake the mobo into thinking it's driving a fan?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAbout a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).
Therefore, I can't use or edit the program. Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.
Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.
Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine? I am a novice user but I can follow instructions. However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.
I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.
I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.
I spilt some water on my laptop a few days ago but fortunately it's completely dried out and working perfectly.... apart from this minor (but important) issue.
Problem: the system time does not stay correct. Even after manually updating the BIOS time and also even after manually syncing it with the various servers available under the time options.
Fix: set the internet time sync interval to every minute rather than its default setting? How do I do this?
P.S. This couldn't be a CMOS battery issue surely because even when the system is on and plugged in the system time still deviates from correct. (I assume the CMOS battery is only used when the system is powered off.) If I need it replaced, how does that sit with my Dell hardware warranty?
So I bought a new desktop computer about 2 weeks ago and ever since I got it, it's been freezing (locking) up on me at random times. I currently use Windows 7 64-bit. I put in a new graphics card and new memory sticks just the other day and I got the same freezing problem. It's very random. I can be surfing the web and the next thing you know, the whole thing freezes up. I can't move the mouse. Can't do CTRL ALT DEL. Can't do anything. Seems as if the whole computer locks up. The only way to restart the computer is by manually holding in the power button for a few seconds. So since I replaced graphics card and installed new memory, I was thinking it may be something else causing this.

To isolate the problem, I have only loaded the video driver,(no apps, no data) and still get BSOD's indicating a ntkrnlmp.exe cause. (Not sure if I should have loaded the chipset driver with the video)The PC even crashed in Safe mode. I have run HDtune, memory testing, and chkdsk /f. Previously I had taken the PC to a repair shop, they reloaded Windows and drivers, but it crashed as soon as I brought it home.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a PC (Window 7 Ultimate x64 SP1) with a time keeping problem.When Win7 is running the internal time gets behind 5 seconds every 10 minutes. This is a serious lag. The problem is pretty consistent.The system synchronizes its time every 10 minutes(because it is so inaccurate) with the atomic time servers and every synchronization interval the time is behind 5 seconds with just a few miliseconds variation between synchronization intervals. This is not a hardware problem, because when I boot the same system into XP maintenance partition the time is accurate. Actually, it is a few miliseconds ahead every 10 minutes, so this proves that there is nothing wrong with the motherboard. The problem is in Windows 7. From what I learned the time is kept internally by counting the hardware timer "ticks", so somehow Windows 7 is missing a lot of those ticks, while XP is OK in this respect. This problem happens regardless if W32Time service is running or not.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWeirdly my screen won't dim anymore, i set it to dim 1 minute but it doesn't do anything but just stays on. I adjusted it in the Power options and it is on the High Performance plan, i have tried other plan which has different dim time but still no go. How i adjusted the it is by going to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings and then adjusting the "Turn off the display". Basically it will dim if the mouse/touchpad is not touched/move in the time you adjusted it on when it will dim.

Sometimes I goes away after a few minutes but there are occasions where it has run for an hour or more. The only way I know to get rid of it is to restart the computer.
