Cut & Paste Not Working In Windows 7

I have a new system with Win7 Pro. 64 Bit Sp1.I've found out that sometimes Win7 has problems with cut & Paste. At first I thought it was a problem with win7 security system but it doesn't seem to be the case as I don't get any message.When I want to move a file from one location to another, I cut and then go to the destination, click paste and nothing happens. No error message, just nothing. I try again but with the same result result. It seems that others have a similar problem, some have suggested that by Killing RDPCLIP.EXE and restarting it fixes the problem. But I don't have this .EXE in my task list, and some other people suggested some other way.This problem does not happen all the time but considering that my PC is only 3 days old and I have experienced this problem 3 times already, it seems unacceptable. This is not some small, obscure, rarely used function, this is Cut & Paste, who doesn't use it almost everyday?

Periodically, for reasons I cannot figure out and for which I have found no solution, my copy/paste ceases to function. Nothing I do seems to fix it, deleting cache, etc. So eventually, out of frustration I give up but it interrupts my productivity of course. Some time later in the future I find it is working again but i do not know how/why it starts or stops and it is most vexing and inconvenient.
It seems to happen periodically whether I am using my Windows 7 or my Mac Snow Leopard? I right click, select copy right click again select paste and ZIP, NADA? I will be forever grateful or at least for a very long time!

2 days ago I noticed that my copy and paste functions stopped working! I am using win 7. I have tried using the keyboard shortcuts crtl+c and crtl+v, right click copy and paste which doesn't work.text copy and paste is working .i cant copy word document or any other files.

I have a Dell Studio 1558 with Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit. For some unknown reason my cut and paste functions are not working consistently.Control C and Control V are working sporadically and I'm having the same problem with right clicking and choosing the copy and paste functions. If I click "cut" the text disappears but I can't paste it anywhere.I've searched online for a solution and completed various diagnostics and can't figure this out.What can I do to restore these functions? Have been having problems within Windows 7 trying to copy and pate.However, I have found a solution.If you are copying from the web to Microsoft Word:1. Open a NEW word document2. Click on Edit in the Menu(You will see that the copy and past options are NOT availableSO3. Type the date4. Now click on edit and you will see that the paste and Paste Special options are now available.. Go to the data which you want to copy and past6. Highlight the information you want to copy and paste7. Click "copy"8. Go back to the NEW word document you previously opened9. Now click pasteIT WOULD APPEAR THAT A NEW WORD DOCUMENT THAT HASEN'T GOT ANY DATA IN IT IS NOT ABLE TO COPY AND PASTE.BY SIMPLY PUTING THE DATE IN THE NEW DOCUMENT, YOU HAVE MADE IT "LIVE" AND THEREFORE IT CAN NOW PERFORM THE COPY AND PASTE FUNCTION.It's taken me some time to fathom this one out but (as an ex IT Lecturer) I was determined to solve the problem.

In XP, I used to be able to easily Copy & Paste using the CTL+INS, SHIFT + INS keys. How to do that in Windows 7. Is that feature gone? Or is there a new procedure or set of keys? (Short of right-clicking & using the popup menu).

I've been unable to copy and paste or drag and drop files in Windows explorer for a few weeks. The problem is as far as I can tell limited to copying and moving files. These functions work just fine in other programs.
I can copy and paste text just fine, and I can drag a file from a .rar archive to the desktop. I can however NOT drag and drop files from the desktop to a folder.
If I try to copy and paste using Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V or the right click menu all I get is some noise from the hard drive and no other reaction.
EDIT: Copying and pasting files works in safe mode.

I have a HP Pavilion which I purchased from Best Buy with the Vista operating system installed. This was of course prior to Windows 7 being released. I ordered the free upgrade disc but postponed doing the upgrade until just last weekend. While I like Windows 7 or at least what I have seen of it so far, I have encountered several problems that I have been unable to resolve.
1. When trying to restart or shut down the computer, it will log me off but then hangs at the "Shutting Down" screen. I have to force the shutdown by holding the power button.
2. I cannot copy and paste or cut and paste anything. Even in Windows explorer when working with files, explorer stops responding and I have to go to the task manager to close the program. This happens whether I am trying to copy and paste one file or a batch of 400 articles. It also does not matter if I use the right click menu or keyboard Ctrl C /X/ V.
I have run all of the Windows updates and installed all but a few optional updates that seemed to be unrelated to any problems that I am encountering, or related to hardware that I do not have installed on my system. I can copy and paste in my email program, Thunderbird, but the copy/cut/paste problem seems to be limited to Windows Explorer.

The computer is running windows 7 64 bit publisher will not cut and paste from word, will not cut and paste from previous publisher files, freezes and closes without cause.I have installed office 2003 pro and it had these problems as well, so I uninstalled it loaded publisher from a stand alone copy and the rest of Office from the office 2003 pro disk.

How do you copy and paste the full path of a mapped drive without shortcuts in Windows 7? If I want to let others know the location of a network drive, the shortcuts on my computer mean nothing to them.

this is one of those things that makes me pine for XPP.I do not know what folder or group to post this in so if the Mod knows and can move there, so be it.My Ultimate x64 rig - clean and fast for the most part: All I needed to do was cut a very small 153kb *.htm file and paste it to a different folder. should have been instantaneous, right? Wrong!The system looked for all the world like it was going to hang Explorer!the dialogue box that normally you would see on mass moves of many large files pops up, and hangs on calculating......" interminably while I sat there just stunned.there was NOTHING running on the system - not even a browser.Finally after about 2 full minutes, it did the job what on earth causes this?? How would i go about diagnosing?

all of a sudden I have been experiencing problems with Pasting files from one area to another. The "Copy" part is working but the pasting - forget about it. There have even been instances whereby the "Pasting" part would be in black and when I click "Paste" nothing happens. On all other instances, the "Paste" feature is in grey.

One of our employees is unable to copy/paste from our terminal server in Europe to her local machine anymore, and I'm trying to figure out the problem. I've already made sure that the Clipboard is checked in the RDP connection properties. I tried connecting as her on my machine, and the same thing happens. If I log out and then reconnect as me, copy/paste works. Should I have the remote admin take a look at his policy?

Alright just within the past week Ive been having trouble copying & pasting. (I've also tried ctrl c & ctrl v). It does work if I keep at it and try it several times. It never seems to work the first try I have to copy something like 10+ times, then the paste will work.
