Aug 5, 2012Explorer won't update thumbnails after I alter a photo, for example by rotating sideways photos (that is, permanently rotating, using a photo editor program), or by cropping.
How do I get the thumbnails to update?
This is happening for all photos (not just certain ones).
I have tried:
- View > Refresh
- Copying the photos to a new folder and renaming them. Even if a photo has been drastically cropped, the thumbnail is still showing the original, whole one - that is, it's showing parts of the file that DON'T EVEN EXIST
- Entirely disabling the thumbnail cache: Group Policy Editor > 'Turn off caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files'. This *must* force Windows to redraw the thumbnail - but it doesn't!
- Restarting computer after each of the above steps
Win 7 Pro, 64 bit. Photos are jpegs from a new digital camera.
Photo Viewer Delete Photo After Rotation?
Mar 14, 2011my win 7 photo viewer does the weirdest thing!! when i view my photos and rotate them and close the viewer, they disappear from my folder where they were originally stored in. i've checked my deleted items. no luck. searched whole pc for edited files and names of files that disappeared. no luck there either. i tested it on my hubby's pc. exact same result there.

Aug 24, 2009I need a little help figuring this out. I made a backup image a while back on my network. Now that I want to re-image, I reboot as requested, wait for it to load, and Windows says it can't find my backup, "if it is on a network, close this window , type the network location."Putting in the network location does nothing, I'm just returned to the screen where it would list the backup image if it had found it, but there's nothing there.Thinking perhaps my NAS was the problem I copied the image onto a portable hard drive, but after rebooting into the restore program, Windows 7 doesn't find the USB drive.

Nov 5, 2011Periodically, for reasons I cannot figure out and for which I have found no solution, my copy/paste ceases to function. Nothing I do seems to fix it, deleting cache, etc. So eventually, out of frustration I give up but it interrupts my productivity of course. Some time later in the future I find it is working again but i do not know how/why it starts or stops and it is most vexing and inconvenient.
It seems to happen periodically whether I am using my Windows 7 or my Mac Snow Leopard? I right click, select copy right click again select paste and ZIP, NADA? I will be forever grateful or at least for a very long time!

Jun 12, 2012Alright, this was my first time removing the current thermal paste and applying new one, the previous one was tough to remove because it was stone hard, although I didnt remove 100% of it i'd say I took out a good 70-80% of what was there.So when applying it, I hear some ppl say to put as much as the size of a bb just a small dot (this is for my laptop cpu and gpu) which I did, then evenly spread it around with the little spreader it came with. My cpu now gets hotter by 4-5c.

Jun 29, 2011I have a new system with Win7 Pro. 64 Bit Sp1.I've found out that sometimes Win7 has problems with cut & Paste. At first I thought it was a problem with win7 security system but it doesn't seem to be the case as I don't get any message.When I want to move a file from one location to another, I cut and then go to the destination, click paste and nothing happens. No error message, just nothing. I try again but with the same result result. It seems that others have a similar problem, some have suggested that by Killing RDPCLIP.EXE and restarting it fixes the problem. But I don't have this .EXE in my task list, and some other people suggested some other way.This problem does not happen all the time but considering that my PC is only 3 days old and I have experienced this problem 3 times already, it seems unacceptable. This is not some small, obscure, rarely used function, this is Cut & Paste, who doesn't use it almost everyday?
