Gateway FX 6801
Upgraded from Vista 64 to Win7 64 and the Creative audio console stopped working. I get a message saying that a compatible device is not detected.
Installed the latest Realtek HD audio drivers, and the problem still persists.
Any ideas?
a few days ago i've installed Windows 7 64-bit(ultimate),everything seems to be going well except for the sound card -.-, I go on the creative site and download the drivers for 64 bit windows seven, but when it comes to the end of the installation gives me a message saying the device is not supported as well if I try to open the audio console same message, I tried the modified drivers and the problem seemed to be resolved, but it is not the same as the original drivers, does anyone know how to fix?

I have the Creative XF-i Extreme Audio soundcard on my system and since upgrading to Windows 7, I am missing the THX console and also the Creative Volume Panel applications. I have used my original Creative CD and installed the drivers and software etc from that in hoping to be able to extract just them components but I can't and they don't seem to be there and I have looked through all folders etc. Obviously being the very original CD that first shipped with PC the drivers and applications are out of date so Creative Auto Update takes care of that. However, what it does not do is find nor install those said applications. I am disappointed that they are not included and when running a new auto update scan it finds no new updates and says I have the latest available software. I have even been on the Creative website and when I do eventually find my soundcard, the updates etc do not show anything to do with the THX console. Basically, it was an interface that let you adjust bass gain and boost and let you physically adjust sliders and effects to suit. Nice feature and I have it in XP, just not win 7

View 13 Replies View RelatedA month ago, I got my brand new, very nice Aurora R4 Alienware computer. A week after that the Realtek HD Audio Manager stops working every time I start my computer. It is very annoying. I still get sound, although now after trying to troubleshoot it, Vent tells me Direct Sound can't be enabled because it can't find a driver. Which of course is even more annoying.

I have Compaq Presario C784TU laptop with windows 7 updated on it. Recently while watching a movie, the audio suddenly started giving problems. I updated my audio driver in the device manager and it installed Conexant High Definition Audio Driver 221. After installing that, my audio completely stopped working. Also,that my headphones are working but only the speakers have stopped working. I have checked all the settings and also I don't think there is any problem with the hardware.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a maxtor 500 gb external hdd and i just cant get it to work with windows 7, i got a computer at home where i want to keep it that has windows 7 rc , I have tryed everything i can think of to make it work but nothing does, I cant see it in my computer or with the explorer, but I can see it with computer management, It doesn´t have a drive letter or NTFS and I just cant do anything to it, I cant format it then I get the error "An unexpected error has occured. check the system event log for more information on the error. Close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer".Nothing works, I cant put a drive letter to it then i get the error "The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console then restart Disk Management or restart the computer."Now im getting pretty annoyed with trying different things on it but can´t seem to make it work, now on the other hand it does work on my laptop computer wich has Windows vista, and it works fine, also works on another computer I have that has Windows XP, can anyone please help me with this problem I would prefer to not have to format it since I did put alot of data on it from my other computers but if I have to then so be it .
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy Windows 7 x64 (7100) found after a clean install new optional updates which included drivers for my soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio. I also used the drivers I got with the cd and installed them on my system. Everything is working now except a few options. I get sound in 5.1, but when I select options like X-Fi Crystallizer, X-Fi CMSS-3D or just change the volume bars (FL, FR, RL, etc) nothing happens!
Before I installed Windows7 x64 I was using Windows XP Pro x86 without any problems. When using the above mentioned options they did changed the sound.
Is it possible that I've to download drivers by my self instead of the Windows updates one?
Does somebody know what I'm doing wrong?
It's nice to see that Creative have released beta drivers for the X-Fi Xtreme Audio card. That's for the PCI version not PCI Express.

Ive got Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio in, ive downloaded the xp, vista and 7 beta drivers from creative, they either say driver version not found OR they say the device isn't plugged in properly, which it is having run it with xp. The only thing i don't have is the disk anymore.
Has anyone managed to get this sound card working with 7? if so how did you manage it?
I have the Creative Esoniq Audio PCI sound card which I bought when I still had Windows XP. I've now installed Windows 7, but dont have the correct drivers to enable my soundcard for Windows 7. if at all Creative Ensoniq will work on Windows 7?

Sound is successfully comming out, but it is screwed up, it fades in and out and has terrible quality (driver from clean install). I am using this sound card, have looked around the forum and have come across a post leading to this driver, unfortunately the download link is no longer working, and was posted several months ago, so maybe there is a newer driver available. Can anyone provide me with a link to the latest up-to-date driver for this sound card please?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI keep getting this error whenever I try to open creative audio center to access cmdss, eax effects, bass settings, etc. I am using Sigamtel HD Audio Codec, Logitech X-540 ( Decreased Volume output from vista to 7, instead of leaving my volume knob halfway I have to turn it max). I get sound, but I don't get to access my Creative Audio Center settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSystem has been blessed with a new lease of life. Faster, more responsive and my god Windows 7 looks sexy! Now, if there is a tiny niggle of an issue, then it is why I am posting today. I have the Creative Xtreme Audio soundcard on my system and Windows 7 has updated it to all the latest drivers. Sound seems ok and thus far it is not reporting any problems. I have the Creative Media Organiser and all the other mod cons etc etc. However, where has my Volume Panel interface gone? In Win XP, I had it permanently attached to my task bar. Basically, a little volume icon if you like in bottom right corner with everything else. You right click the icon and then you get the entertainment console where you can change settings etc. Looked nice, even in XP. I must admit I'm a tad disappointed it's not here in Windows 7 and also confused as to why everything else is here except that facility.Do I have to download it separately? I don't fancy putting my original CD in that came with PC from day one as I'd have to manually look for that particular component and extract it. Infact, I don't even know if that is an option as I am pretty sure it formed part of the whole "Medisource Go" package and I have that and it's up to date.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased and install a Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card and downloaded from Creative the Win 7 drivers. Everything started to go fairly well. I configured for a Quadraphonic Speakers configuration. Tested sound, using Manage Audio Device, at all four speakers and I could hear the sound. However, when I used the Window Medial Player or any other player, no rear speakers sound can be heard.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been a long time M-Audio Revolution user - but discovered recently that what I thought was surround all these years was matrixed surround (Stupid me ). Anyway, I looked at a billion sound cards (A lot anyway) and didn't find any that sounded perfect. But gaming is a priority and so is surround support via an external receiver, so I thought I'd give this Creative a shot despire the horrible rep because of it's local availability (easy return) and it does everything I need (DTS Connect and DDL encoding). People also hyped up EAX to some astronmical level, and after seeing some examples on the Creative site I thought it would be impressive. So I popped in BF2, a game that supports EAX 5.0 - set all in-game and external settings for EAX on and at normal levels...nothing. The guns sound identical if I shoot them in a small room or of I shoot them in a large open field.I tried new drivers (Was very nervous to do so, but it didn't break anything - everything works good on my Win 7 64-bit PC so far *fingers crossed*) and that didn't do it, adjusted settings (It was on the Game mode already), I tried turning it on and off and comparing - I can't hear anything! I am using the encoder to get DTS Digital out of my Logitech Z-5500 speakers - but does this somehow mess up EAX? Do I need to run something first like ALchemy to make EAX work? I thought it was as easy as click the box and start gaming...but silly me it isn't. I now know EAX is a largely dead technology, but it irks me highly that it isn't working properly on the games that support it - I'd really like to sample it first hand but either it makes a miniscule difference or it's not on..

It usually happens when I right click in Explorer or try to open anything in Photoshop. I have that sound card. I install the latest driver from Creative which is version 2.18.0013. Installs fine, reboots, then the AutoUpdate program comes up to install all the other applications for my device.
However, if I try to run like Creative Audio Control Panel, which got installed during driver installation, it says "The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit." Even if I install the other application, it will say almost the same message, when I try opening most of them.
I have researched this and contacted creative, but they are never no help, and from what I understand, lot of people are having basically the same issue with the drivers compatibility in WIN 7? Is that correct?
Does anyone know of a solution or do I just have to wait?
I have checked all hardware installations, and they are all good. This worked on Windows Vista x64 with my current system.
It seems to me that XP's recovery console is somewhat better than the one that comes with Vista or 7, unless someone can point me in the right direction for finding further documentation on this topic.
The main difference is the lack of ability to tinker with services (LISTSVC / ENABLE / DISABLE commands). A missed opportunity is the lack of registry tweaking, considering that REGEDIT can be run, but I think it only allows you to look at the registry for the recovery console rather than the main Windows installation, which doesn't help much (though I haven't tried to import/mount the registry file from the main Windows installation).
I've installed Windows 7 on my desktop with dual boot to Vista. Everything's been working fine but I haven't been able to properly setup my sound-card to function properly. As of now, I currently have no sound and I've been through many different drivers from the Creative website.
I've also tried running them in compatibility mode with Windows Vista and Windows XP SP3.
I am currently getting this error message under the "Device Status" In Device Manager, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)".
Windows has been automatically installing the driver version 5.12.1.2004 dated June 13 2007.
Can anyone please help me with this issue? It is currently ruining my Windows 7 experience!
Wifi on my laptop suddenly stopped working. It has full bars but I cannot access any websites in any browser (Chrome/Firefox). I also cannot access itunes store. I keep seeing a yellow exclamation mark appear on my wifi signal then it vanishes by itself.

For nearly half of the .exe files I attempt to open, I get this stupid "---.exe has stopped working" (where --- represents the name of the file). The files I'm trying to open are not video game files, but rather program files.I am currently working on a 64-bit system. I have only had this machine for 2.5 weeks.

This morning I found six extra windows open, which looked like this: [code] which looks like six randomly generated letters for the application name. After disabling all startups and services other than MS, succeeded in getting the drivers installed. Now I'm trying to clean the crap out of the computer, one of which is "Amazon Links". Will not uninstall from EITHER Programs and Features or Revo Uninstaller. Get the message that is the title of this post. 've seen many threads on the Web about this, but none that had a real answer. I would ordinarily try safe mode, but cannot find any folder with Amazon Links in it, so don't know where it is.

So, for example, in Outlook where I can normally click a link within an email to go to the web page, I now can't (affecting all emails). I thought it might be an Outlook problem but today I notice there are other programs which should automatically go to a webpage which aren't functioning.I think I downloaded some dodgy software yesterday and uninstalled it, so almost certain that's what's caused the problem.I am using Win7, by the way.
